I have been a customer of Chets Pest Control since moving to Florida 30 years ago. They have helped us with everything we needed from the regular periodic inspections to tenting, to inspecition before selling, and continuing to service us when we moved to Pasco county. Each person who has serviced our property has been very professonal, friendly, and informative.

The team did a great job, from the time the inspector Michael came to our home, until the time the team said goodbye. They were professional, communicating well in person, over the phone, and via email. They were out in the heat for about 3 hours doing the labor. I have felt very comfortable overall with Chet's and I love the warranty. Highly recommend.

Truck 20, Toyota Tacoma with topper, older American gentleman, needs to be more careful driving, and switching lanes. Mr Truck 20, ran me outa the road this morning, he never looked to the sides, never used his signals, and switched over to the right lane to avoid having to wait in traffic. Did all that for nothing. He ended up next to the at the next light hiding his truck into. People like this should’ve off the road and not working with a company vehicle if it’s going to be treated it this way and put people’s life at stake. I’m a parent, and anything a human being does while driving recklessly, I take personal. And to make it all better, I pulled down my window and he laughs about it all.

I changed from a well known exterminator company who fail to rid my kitchen of ants. Chet’s was able to rid my kitchen of ants with only 2 treatments. I just wanted to take a moment to share some positive feedback about Josiah. He did a fantastic job — he arrived on time, and in fact, was able to get to the property a bit early, which worked out perfectly for me. Josiah was very professional and clearly knowledgeable about the service. This was my first time trying the mosquito control application, and thanks to his thoroughness, I’m excited to see how well it works. I have been using Chet's for all my Pest Control services for quite a while which includes Termite and Pest Control services and now I have added the Mosquito Control service! This is a great company and they have not failed me yet.

It's bad enough termites violated our home, now we had some other violations. Came home after house was cleared and: bathroom lights left on, a few pictures on the floor, unplugged radio was now plugged in, garage door that was unplugged FOR SAFETY was plugged BACK IN WITHOUT PERMISSION OR NOTICE, bed moved away from the wall, lamp knocked over and window was opened, screen removed BUT LEFT BENT without notifying us. It is a VIOLATION when u allow workers in your home and they violate the trust you are forced to extend because you can't do what needs to be done. This company will NEVER step foot near my property. I will sell a termite infested home before I use Chets again. I didn't reach out to them because if they cared, this wouldn't have happened. I deserve more than a "I'm sorry this happened" cookie cutter reply post that EVERYONE gets.

Provider response

Good Morning Cyn.
If there was a problem with a job our company performed, I guarantee you, we are not EVERYONE else and you would not get a cookie cutter response...as proof by our response to your 1 star.
We've been is business over 45 years and when mistakes are brought to our attention, we do whatever we can to make things right.
As far as the garage door, it's customary for us to plug the opener back in. If you didn't want it plugged back in, we should have been informed or a note left informing us NOT to plug it back in.
We do bring in high powered fans to move gas through the structure and we do try to set up in areas where wall items don't come down, but it's normally something our team would clean up prior to leaving, so I'd love to see picture of what was left so we can discuss it with our crews.
Not sure about the radio, but if a fan was plugged in and the radio was next to it, we might have plugged it back in thinking we unplugged it.
If the screen is bent and needs repair, please call the office @ 813-935-7554.
I see you've posted a few negative reviews this morning for miscellaneous companies, so if these issues are really legit, we'd love the opportunity to address in person or by phone. You're welcome to call and ask for me.
Thank you
Carol Brown, GM

The absolute WORST company I’ve ever dealt with in regards to pest control! Not only do they come to your home and lie to your face about the treatment that is provided constantly “assuring you” that “ALL PESTS” will be deterred from your home for at least 1 year but when you call them back to report any issues to have additional problems resolved their continuous response is that is not something they do or that’s not a service they provide! Do yourself a favor and don’t waste your money with these people! They’re not worth the time or money invested! A complete waste of $2K!!!

Provider response

Angela, all due respect, but you hired Chet's to tent your home for Drywood Termites, which we did back on April 16, 2025. The agreement clearly states you are covered for Drywood Termites only and termite tenting leaves no residual, since it's just a gas, so there is no way we could claim "ALL PESTS" could or would be deterred from the home...for ANY period of time. That said, we do guarantee the tenting for the 1st year, so if there are LIVE Drywood Termites found in the wood originally treated, we'll come back and re-tent free of charge.

Your call this morning had nothing to do with Drywood termites, you called our office demanding service for large roaches and possums. While we can certainly provide pest control services, for an additional charge, we do not handle wildlife. We would have referred you to someone that handles that service, but again, not something we offer nor cover with the Drywood Termite agreement.

You paid Chet's to tent your home for Drywood Termites, which we provided that service. No where on the termite agreement does it list any other insects other than Drywood Termites, so you might want to re-examine your agreement as it does not cover any other pest/wildlife than Drywood Termites.

Should you have any questions, please feel free to call our office and ask for me.
Thank you
-Carol Brown, GM
Contacted Chet’s for pest control. Had to repeatedly reschedule for life issues as our home had a fire and death in the family. Finally found a date that would work for us. Spent a day preparing for pest treatment by emptying entire kitchen and called to ask a question and to confirm the appointment. They had cancelled our appointment weeks ago and I am finding out the day before the treatment. Never received a supposed phone call from them with the cancellation. Explained our circumstances, especially with our home catching partially on fire and death in the family. Chet’s simply doesn’t care about people, they showed no concern and would not reschedule for us, wouldn’t take our business. This is horrible business practice. If I want to sign a contract to pay for something, take my money. If I decide I can’t handle the appointments, still take my money. This is poor business practice to cancel someone for extreme life circumstances and then not let them know.

Provider response

Melissa,

Our entire team is sad to hear about the tragic, recent events in your family. What a tough way to start the 1st 1/2 of the year.

That said, I was the one that instructed Robin to remove your appointment from the schedule and I was there when she made the call and left a message for you. I don't know if the voicemail got missed, but we definitely made the call. I removed the appointment because you rescheduled, numerous times...for a Saturday appointment...which is hard to schedule because we have limited technicians on Saturday's.

We cherish the relationships we build with our customers, so I would never, knowingly, enter into an agreement with a customer that can't fulfill their end of the agreement and not be available for service. We don't want to take your money...we want to earn your money.

We are all truly very sorry for your losses this year and hope the 2nd half of the year is better than the 1st.

While we may not be a fit at this time, I do hope your situation improves and you can find someone that matches your time frame.

Thank you
-Carol Brown, GM

Do not use Chet’s . They were good in the past but just before COVID their product was no longer effective. I asked if they changed their product and no one would answer the question which made me believe they are now using a subpar product. Whenever I call with a pest issue I get a laundry list of how it’s my fault and I have to insist someone come out. I asked my tech about an ant issue I was having and he said it’s an extra charge to treat for ants. I called the office and they confirmed that is not true. The tech went as far to say that when you think about bugs that is what makes them come. I often wonder what has changed in recent years to now have such poor service. I was a loyal customer for about 20 years. I was forced to try another company. Beware of this company.

Provider response

Wmitty, Wmitty
I would love the opportunity to discuss this review and know your indentity.

I have been with Chet's more than 30 years, so if you were a customer for 20 years, you would certainly know myself, our office staff that has been here for decades...and your technician for that many years.

Bugs are very smart and have been around a heck of a lot longer than you or I, but I do not know them to be intuitive with humans. They are in our every day life, but don't appear just because you think about them. They do appear due to environmental changes or introductions and if that is the case, our technicians do extra work to combat new intrusion of bugs. However, if the normal service doesn't handle the new intrusion and extra work needs to be done in order to combat new species, we do change a small fee to upgrade, but that is just for the extra time and materials needed on a job.

As far as materials, I am in charge of the products we use and I can guarantee you, we do not use sub par products. We use brand name products that are proven in our industry and our track record. Call backs or service calls cost us money, so do we everything possible to keep the in- between services to a minimum. That includes great products, great service and the best technicians in the industry.
You are more than welcome to call and discuss your situation with the office, should you decide to do so. You can ask for myself, Robin, or Eugene. We'll be more than happy to listen.
Thank you
-Carol Brown, GM

Working with Chets was one of the worst customer experiences we have encountered in a long while. Rescheduling initial appointments was our first upfront issue. On the day of vacating the property, they told us to be out by 8am. At 5pm that day, no one had showed up to tent the property. When we called to inquire, that let us know that they SUBCONTRACT tenting, which was not disclosed. Then in a hurried rush to finish the job they neglected to tent out guest house, which was part of the extermination plan we had laid out. Once this was realized upon our return to our property several days later, they told us we would have to be out of our house for an ADIITIONAL 4-5 days while they redid the guest house. When we asked for compensation for their mistake, in the form of a refund or a maintenance credit, they never got back to us with ANY solution for retaining us as customers, despite calling them 4-5 times to resolve. Is this the type of company you would want to trust your home with for fumigation, while you are away?

I have spent nearly $5,000 with Chet's for termite treatment in the last year. On their last treatment (they contract it out to another company- they don't actually do the work), they completed the tenting. When removing the tent, they pulled a vent stack out of my roof. Instead of telling anyone, the workers just stuck it back in again and left it. They said nothing to no one. This is all according to the pro roofer I asked to fix it. Of course, it then leaked inside, staining the ceiling. When my roofer saw it, he told me what had happened and charged me over $1300 to fix it. Before you get services from Chet's, you must sign a release of liability for ANY damage, so they won't pay for the roof repair. When I notified them, they just said they would talk with their workers. That's it. No apology, no concern, no response, no nothing. Any company with integrity would offer to pay for the damage they clearly did. Not Chet's. Nope, never again.

The tenting service was decided by our community, in our unit we did not have any complains at all but we proceeded. They were sloppy and carefree. As you can see below they destroyed our garden and some pieces of the fence that did not have to be detached are now broken. The Maintenance guy ( who did the prep) came back to our property and told us it wasn’t him. The service is expensive. The least they can do is be cautious. Now for us it means even more money out of pocket.

Provider response

Amaury, we have been in email communication with the person affected by the tenting and the plants. While we need room to work, the plants in question have been established for some time and with a little TLC, they should make a full recovery. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and we apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. Carol Brown, GM

10/22/2020. 12:45 pm I was drinving on waters avenue on my left lane and one of your drivers try to hit my car, then I slowed down to make him over pass and at the light he stopped the car open the door and tried to fight me I don’t know you guy as a company but this aggressive driver shouldn’t be working neither driving any car, very aggressive and reckless

Provider response

Thank you for stopping in, Oscar, and bringing this situation to our attention. The driver has been with Chet's over 20 years and has an excellent driving record and history so the news is very uncharacteristic of our team member. With that said, we have addressed this very unfortunate incident with the driver and will discuss the situation at our driver's safety course next month. There is no way this incident will be overlooked or downgraded. Please accept our apologizes for this unpleasant interaction with our company. Carol Brown, GM

extent of service not as quoted and execution of service negligent and now they're telling me they'll send me to collections see a few photos attached. Be sure to read BBB and Yelp complaints. Wish I'd done this before hiring. Quote - Karl provided a quote for preventative termite treatment for the entire house, stated that there were no active termites, noted that the attic structure looked great and showed no evidence of termites but noted an area of past termite damage in the wooden dining room ceiling. He explained that termites are like gypsies and come and go. Due to foundation change/level, he said treatment would include drilling in expansion joint in both the dining room and laundry. Drilling would take place between 18 x 18 tile. Laundry room had water heater, washing machine, and pipes in plain sight. Decision to have service - I decided to proceed with treatment as a preventative measure. On Sat. treatment date, Kenny was irritated that Karl had not noted in the diagram for him that drilling would need to take place in the house. I had to show him the walls Karl said would need drilling. He drilled in the dining room two to three inches from the wall and damaged a number of tiles in the process. My house is being renovated. Once baseboards are installed, these holes will not be covered. Kenny did not treat laundry room expansion joint wall at all for fear of bursting pipes. (shouldn’t Karl have known this). I was never walked around the house and never expressed that I was happy. On Sun., I stopped payment and emailed the company at the email address provided on their service invoice and attached two illustrative photographs. This was done after friends and neighbors learned observed the damage and learned of the experience. Their office is closed on Sunday so I could not call. On Mon., I called the company and spoke with Carol. She said they had received no emails in any of their email boxes and gave me a different email address to contact her. She was obviously very frustrated and I stated she was borderline rude. Said she needed to speak with the employees and call me later in the day. I forwarded the email to the new address. Later in the day, Carol called and I informed her that I had a previously scheduled business meeting in 8 minutes. She: - acknowledged she expressed frustration toward me in the earlier telephone call Carol - she said Karl warned me of potential tile damage. /// There was no warning - she said Karl leaves it up to Kenny to decide where to treat and where not to treat. /// Shouldn’t Karl provide accurate quotes? The washer, water heater, and pipes are in plain view. The quote was for treatment of the entire house and the room was not treated. - she advised me that she always tells customers that there is the potential for damage, alluded that should have known of potential tile damage, stated that some tiles chip more than others and she stated that the contract excludes her company from responsibility for damage. //Shouldn’t this information have been provided by Karl in the quote or in the paperwork? Should the drilling have taken place where it could be covered with baseboards? - She commented that she may be able to “help out” with the cost of the repair if not too much, asked about the extent of the damaged and said she only saw two photographs. /// The two photographs were illustrative. Tues., I followed up with additional photographs of damaged tiles and the laundry room with water heater, washing machine, and pipes in plain sight. I also asked a number of questions, including where the repair estimates should be sent. Due to the number of photographs and file size limitations on email, the photographs had to be sent in multiple emails. Sun., I followed up to inquire as to whether Carol received my emails. Mon., Carol responded that if I don’t pay them the full amount, they will send me to collections and they will take no further action. They didn't perform the service they quoted and damaged my house. Tues., I filed complaint with BBB.

STATE CONFIRMS...CHET'S NOT GUILTY OF WRONG DOING. (see photo section for details)

Chet's stands behind the work that was performed by Kenny Hill, who has performed THOUSANDS of termite treatments throughout his 28 years with Chet's. The treatment was performed according to the law, label and backed by our 5 year MONEY BACK guarantee.

The homeowner was present the ENTIRE time of treatment and had the opportunity to stop any part of the service...at any time...and our crew would have stopped work immediately. Instead, she signed for service, took the service, paid for service rendered, then a day later decided to stop payment in the amount of $634 for the same service she signed for a day earlier.

Here are the facts of the treatment:
1. Homeowner was present the entire time our crew provided service. Our crew arrived at 7:55am and left at 10:04am. Our crew was present 2 hours & 10 minutes and at no time did the homeowner express her concerns regarding the treatment nor did she stop our crew from doing the work. Drilling thru concrete is not a quite job and would have alerted her to the treatment...inside her home.
2. This treatment was not a preventative treatment, it was corrective. There was termite evidence on the wall of the same room we drilled.
3. The room with the tile was once a 1 car garage that was converted into living space. Tile was placed over the 2 expansion joints when the renovations were done, which made it necessary for us to drill into the tiled floor. We do drill between the tiles in the grout lines, however, grout lines vary greatly from home to home and the possibility of tile chipping around the hole being drilled is very high due to the vibration of the drill bit. We use the smallest drill bit possible to get job done correctly, but sometimes the grout line are too thin or the tile too fragile not to have some chipping. The homeowner was informed about the possibility of this happening.
4. The homeowner was aware the room would be drilled inside and had the furniture moved prior to treatment.
5. The homeowner was walked around the property, signed the contact and gave payment the same day service was provided. At that time, she was happy with the service provided.
6. The homeowner decided a day later to stop payment on the check for services rendered.
7. Homeowner called 2 days later to say she would not pay because she did not receive a full service, when in fact, she did. We did not drill the floor in the laundry room due to extensive plumbing in that area. The potential to drill thru piping....in a concrete floor...was very high. Customer would have expected us to pay the plumbing and concrete repair had we decided to drill that area and go thru a pipe. That particular 4 foot section was treated from the exterior. We did not charge an additional fee for this area to be down drilled.

The homeowner did call the office to let us know she stopped payment and discuss the issues with the treatment. She called at a very busy time and we had not received her email because she sent it to an alternate address. We asked her to send the email again to a different address and told her she would receive a call back after reviewing her email.

We did call her back later in the day after reviewing her email, speaking with Karl, Kenny & Ronnie. At the time of the call, she was asked a few questions, asked her to review her account of on treatment day, reviewed the agreement and told her WHY the tile was drilled. At the time of the call, we did mention we might be able to help with the tile repair and when she heard the word, MIGHT, she was very quick to tell us her time was limited and she would have to end the call.

At 2am the following morning, we received 5 emails.

After Chet's review of the homeowners correspondence/documents, he determined the job was performed accurately and according to the label and law.
