Murphy's Pest Control

We called at 9pm after putting our kids to bed to leave a message to have them call us back in the morning (to show the urgency after they didn’t call back after us leaving a message at 9am) to hopefully schedule something. The owner RUDELY answered the business phone and while I tried to say hello and explain my call, he cut me off and told me “Do not ever call at 9pm and we will no longer service your home”. Do not do business with this company. Clearly they do not care about their business if this is how they conduct it.

Murphy’s used to service us. They were unable to get rid of a roach problem we had when we moved in so we went another way. We never had a problem with the other pests as they did a good job. The roach problem was solved, but when we tried to contact Murphy’s again to bring them back in as our pest service, we were met with Tim being rude on the other end of the phone. I called them 9 am and left a message only to have no one respond. Any parent with young kids knows your day is nonstop until they go to bed. So we tried to call again at 9pm because no one had gotten back to us. Tim picked up the phone and said,” don’t ever call my phone at 9 pm again and we will not be servicing you anymore.” Then he hung up. I’m a small business owner. I would NEVER speak to a client this way. I simply wouldn’t answer the phone. This is a LISTED business phone number, so I wouldn’t think we would be calling a house phone. Do better, Tim, because that was truly a trashy way to deal with customers.

He was here when he said he would be, treated my house and outside. I have not had issues since. Super nice and very polite. I highly recommend.

Moving to Florida two years ago, I was worried about how to control the critters that wanted to live in my home that I didn't want. Heard horror stories about the palmetto bugs, and I could imagine, with all this green (I live on 5 acres of wooded pine and oak) that I would be spending a lot of time and money on the battle. I use Murphy's Pest control... they come out twice a year (three times the first year, at my request) and I've been happy. Their chemicals don't leave a lingering smell and they seem to work well. You'll still get the occasional roach, or scorpion, but in two years, only two scorpions, and a handful of roaches, have made it inside... and they were already dying. Good service, good price... good results. I have less bugs in my house here in Florida than I had in California or Arizona, or even the midwest. I never turn on the lights at night and see things moving, I never open a cabinet and have things scurry away, I've never yet found signs of anything around my food that say I have a problem. I'll take that any day.
