We had a racoon settled in our chimney. Joe, the owner, came first thing in the morning and began the process of evicting the racoon. He was very knowledgeable, professional and humane. He walked our roof and found another area under our eaves where the racoon was trying to get in as well as cracks in the top of our chimney. They sealed the cracks and the area under the eaves and installed chimney caps to prevent future problems. They also sprayed the chimney for fleas. Peace of mind to know they won't be back. I highly recommend using Blue Tick. FYI, we also use them throughout the year to spray for ants/insects which has eliminated that problem also.

Thank you so much for trusting us Keith! I’m glad we could get her out of the chimney as quick as we did!
Awesome service! I use this company for pest control and they are always willing to come help whenever I have a problem. Thank you so much!

You are very welcome Jill! Always just a phone call away
I contacted several professional pest control companies to provide an estimate for mitigation this week so that we could compare pricing. Unfortunately, my experience with this company was extremely unprofessional from the very first moment on the phone. Before even asking what the pest issue was, Joe immediately asked where the home was located and whether I owned it or not. I explained that the property belongs to my best friend, who currently lives in the Philippines, and that he had asked me to coordinate inspections on his behalf. Without asking a single question about the rodent problem or the scope of work, Joe abruptly said they would not be able to do the job and oddly cited “a potential roof fall” as the reason. This made no sense given that my web submission was simply about mice mitigation. I tried to clarify that the homeowner’s elderly husband was physically present at the property full time and may even be listed as a legal owner, but Joe refused to engage in any meaningful conversation about it or even let me talk about getting back to him with more information. He repeatedly interrupted me insisting that it “sounded like” they wouldn’t be able to take the job, while ignoring my attempts to clarify. The conversation became increasingly frustrating when Joe began to ask for personal information regarding the couples’ living situation and would not answer basic questions or provide any clear explanation regarding his roof concerns. Ultimately, I had to end the call myself as I didn’t see any relevance to the questions he was asking about the property and the owner. I still have no idea what triggered the reaction or why Joe refused to even discuss the job. I’m also confused about some things he referred to and why being up on the roof to exterminate mice would even be a possibility. If this is the preliminary process for vetting new clients, it should be drastically restructured. I think developing consultations around identifying the pain points of your target audience could be helpful. This style of strategic communication is sales 101 in any business model, customer service and operations got a 0 from me too.

Dear Amber,

I realize when you’re staying at a friend’s house and there’s mice present it can be frustrating and you want to help. I can appreciate that. What I don’t appreciate is you cussing at me for me simply letting you know what our policy is. Unfortunately we need the homeowners permission to do any work on the property. Everyone reading this should know that. If you own a property, we can help you, if you are a tenant, you need the owner to contact us. I wish you the best dealing with your issues.
Dear Amber loves art,

You can see my response to your other review. Real customers will see through these one star reviews.
I'm based in Ken-Caryl, CO. Joe and his team at Blue Tick Pest/Wildlife were amazing. First (very important) - the actual business owners and experts showed up at my house with concerns about mice. It wasn't some call center that pushed my request to some pimply faced kid. Seasoned experts who never upsold our family on what we needed. Next - After a thorough inspection of the house for a very reasonable fee, that included a couple of quick on-site follow ups, our family's concerns about mice are long gone. We feel armed with the right information to deal with this going forward. A huge thank-you to Joe and his team at Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control!
Joe did an amazing job helping us with a bird that got stuck in our dryer vent hose. He was professional, kind, and showed up exactly when he said he would which was only a couple hours after we contacted him. We can’t thank him enough for his help and highly recommend his services!
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thank you very much for your kind words Maggie! Glad we could get everything figured out so quickly 😊
Joe came out and dealt with the insect issues I had, quickly and efficiently. He is a great guy and runs a great business: knowledgeable, honest, diligent, and a great value. Highly recommended!

Thanks for your kind words Jake! And let me know if you need any additional services. I’m just a phone call away.
As a Realtor, timelines matter—and Blue Tick Pest Control delivered. They were easy to reach, quick to schedule an estimate, and flexible in working around our closing timeline to get everything completed on time. I’ve worked with them in the past and they continue to be dependable, professional, and efficient. I’ll definitely keep using them and recommending them to clients.

Thanks, Dan!
We had a a squirrel come into our fireplace and called Joe, from BlueTick Pest & Wildlife Control. He came out that very same day and successfully removed it safely. He was extremely knowledgeable and thorough. He did a full inspection of the area and sent one of his crewman,Craig the very next day to cap off our chimneys. Their communication was also great, arriving when they said they would and gave us a call when they were on their way which was very helpful. They even took pictures of the work completed and emailed us for our records. If you ever have pesty critters, don't look elsewhere, call Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control! Thank you.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thank you so much Theresa! I hope you and Jeff have a wonderful holiday that is squirrel free😁!!
Called up about a raccoon. Said to call the landlord, highly dismissive of the issue raccoons under the decking, said to take pictures despite the fact I already have a video. Unhelpful, and felt extremely unwilling to help. Avoid.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Luke, I’m sorry you had a bad experience with us as I know you called looking for someone to get rid of a raccoon that isn’t frequenting your place. Unfortunately, as a renter, you cannot authorize us to do work on the property of which you reside. I need landowner permission to work on the landowner‘s property. It would be haphazard of us not to have that. I know that’s not what you were looking to hear, that was frustrating for you. Good luck to you.

Joe is super competent and has extraordinary knowledge on pretty much any type of pesky critter. He's almost a pest whisperer in how he understands animal behavior and he uses this to treat pest infestations effectively. What I find particularly impressive is not just Joe's knowledge but his efforts to rid my living space of pests in the most humane ways possible that do not harm any other animals and do not cause too much suffering for the pests. Joe has even helped me with free consultations on his way back from another appointment with advice by which I can work at solving my own pest problems the Joe way. I cannot recommend Blue Tick Pest and Wildlife more highly. I have dealt with other pest control companies and they are not nearly in the same league as Blue Tick is. This company is above and beyond in pest control expertise.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thank you so much Mark. I’ve truly enjoyed working with you and your family to get rid of all these pests!!
Joe is amazing!! - I am out of town and need a one-time rodent treatment on my parents house which we are selling. I called Joe on a holiday Saturday at the last minute and ended up talking to him for 45 minutes. He is so knowledgeable and kind. I would recommend Joe anyone looking for an honest, hardworking genuine owner who cares about your problems and is willing to work with you through any pest/wildlife issue.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thank you so much for your kind words Ali! You let me know if you need anything else and we’ll take care of you!
Joe is rude. I understand that these guys do not provide free services as it clearly states that on their website. I called to see if I can get information from them to see if they could possibly get me to the right place OR they could possibly quote me on how much it would be for what I needed. I tried explaining what had happened front the start to see if that would change who I needed to talk to but he cut me off and just said “wrong number, Wrong number” and did not give me a chance to explain or even ask anything else and argued with me. I don’t appreciate being cut off or being spoken to the way Joe did. I wanted to give them a chance because their website seemed very informative and I thought they would be even more helpful in person.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Jasmine,
I’m sorry you had that experience with us. We get lots of calls from people looking for us to come and pick up roadkill, we also have lots of calls from people who need our help. I do not have a list of numbers for other organizations that do roadkill. We strive to provide a service, but I understand it was frustrating for you to have us not be able to bid you or provide you with the information you were calling about. It was not our intent to make you feel bad about calling the wrong number . Best of luck to you in the future Jasmine.
I called today and got the best advice from Joe. He was really nice and easy to talk to. He gave me good advice and saved me from spending a ton of money. I would absolutely trust him and recommend him!
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thanks Emily! Feel free to call whenever you have questions!
Had what appeared to be a bat problem based on some bat droppings I found. I called Blue Tick and they prioritized me as a customer coming out the next day. Fortunately they were old but Blue Tick still pointed out areas of concern and recommendations to fix them to prevent future problems. I really appreciate their promptness and professionalism.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thanks so much for the review Josh! Always feel free to call!

I’m so glad we could help you Sarah!
Called with a snake problem and Joe have an incredible amount of useful insight just to be helpful. Grateful for his support and knowledge. Clearly a person with years of experience who knows his business inside and out. Thank you Joe!
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
I’m glad we could help you, Michael. You let us know if you need any further help.
Joe was such a knowledgeable professional. He had excellent advice about our structures, and the animal behavior that might be specific to our home. He was a pleasure to talk to in person and it is evident that he has extensive experience with raccoons, rodents, and other wildlife on the front range.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Thank you so much for your review Shannon. I think you made the right choice. If things should continue, you’re always welcome to give us a ring.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
I don’t have you in my system, Felipe, if you’d like to call to discuss, please feel free to reach out
3 stars because I can’t speak to the actual work. I called to get an estimate, and was repeatedly interpreted, spoke over, and when I asked a question, the response was very belittling. The person on the phone seemed very annoyed with me. I will not use a business that treats me like I’m a nuisance. Lastly, $299 for the service call only is outrageous! To be clear, the 299 fee was for the service trip only!!
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Mary,
Im sorry you did not like the quote we gave you. As a small business that is licensed and insured we have to make sure that we are covering our costs and the potential for hazards. You called for snakes in your crawlspace, which commonly is accompanied with rodent activity. Our price included going into the crawlspace (usually filled with bacteria and in this case potential snakes and rodents) and the removal of any visible and accessible snakes present. I understand if you do not see the value in this service, but we have to base our service calls on what is going to happen during the call. I wish you nothing but the best in the future and hope you can find someone to get into your crawlspace for less.
Joe came to my home. Gave me a 2300 dollar estimate in 10 minutes. I said no way. He then asked me for 300 dollars for the estimate and said my wife approved it. This is a con- man. Tey another service
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Joe,

I gave your wife the option of a weekday appointment (Thursday) or a Saturday appointment for $299. She wanted me out immediately, and agreed to the weekend fee. I spent an hour driving to your house on Saturday and was there for 30 minutes looking at all the issues with the attic, electrical, and the rolled tile roof. When I tried to show you pictures you were uninterested and didn’t care about anything but the cost…I’m sorry if we did not meet your expectations.
So I called today to try to find out how much money it would cost me to get the raccoons removed from my attic, (not ever having to deal with this before) and the man on the phone was so rude to me! It was out of this world! He gave me some explanation about fixing a car or something and I said, “sir I didn’t call about fixing a Mazda, I called about removing raccoons” and he was just so snotty with me and then had the audacity to ask me if I’d like to make an appointment for Tuesday, even though on their website, it says it’s a free Estimate or inspection and charge me close to $300 for an inspection, only $50 going towards the removal! False advertising and rudeness won’t get you anywhere, sir. I shall take my business somewhere else than you very much!
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Melissa, I’m sorry you had that experience with us. We do not give estimates over the phone, which I believe was what you were looking for. Maybe using the example of asking a mechanic how much it would cost to fix a car after an accident, site unseen, was a bad example for you. We wish you the best in finding a company who will bid you over the phone, and be successful with evicting your raccoons.
I called to have a squirrel trapped and removed from my garage attic. I told Joe and when I called and when I signed the contract for the initial visit. When he arrived, he told me his company does not do trap and release. They will put a one-way door for the animal to go out when they find the entrance. He looked around the outside of my house, but did not go in. He assured me his workers would determine a critter inside after I had signed the $7000 contract he gave me. He showed me videos of bats and mice going in Ridgetop vents my to for me to consider if I needed to protect the Ridgetop vents. He did not go into my attic verify any critter had gotten in there. His workers would verify the need after I had signed the contract. He gave me the contract with neither of us, knowing for sure if any critter had gotten into my attic at any place.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Anne, I’m sorry it seems there was some miscommunication at your visit. We will trap, and that service was on your estimate, however it is not our first choice…that being said, no signs of squirrels were present on inspection, however heavy mice activity throughout the house & garage was present. We strive to educate and help customers, I’m sorry we were not able to help you. I do wish you good luck though.
We paid this company hundreds of dollars to remove pocket gophers, and yet the damage to our landscaping increased significantly during the months they charged us. It looks as if Blue Tick was feeding the gophers instead of poisoning them. Pathetic. I called the owner and he was basically indifferent.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Ellen,
I am sorry you feel the way you do about our services. All of our customers are important to us. I reviewed your communication with my office and have let them know your dissatisfaction. We always try to communicate that pocket gophers are not a “one and done” service, and that is why we set you up for reoccurring services. That did not mean that 2 or 3 services was what it was going to take and I apologize for any misunderstanding there might have been. We do not sign contracts to lock people into the service for extended times. I wish you the best in finding a company that can meet your needs better than we did.
DO NOT LISTEN TO RESPONSE HE ESTIMATED $499 and I signed THAT contract! HE SIGNED second contract at residence NOT ME!! BAIT AND SWITCH I am an older gal who was taken advantage of badly by Joe. He told me it would be 499 to come to my home and he came and he charged me $1000. When I flipped out he gave me 100 back I never even signed the contract. He pushed the agree button to the terms because I didn’t have my glasses and he rushed right through it, all he did was take a couple of iPhone photos and leave a couple of little traps that I could’ve done $900 total rip off and bad attitude
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
Dear Susan,

I have done everything possible to satisfy you. I took 20% off your mountain inspection fee because of your dissatisfaction. I’m sorry we could not help you.
I called because I saw a hawk that needed some help. The person who answered didn’t even let me speak before shouting at me that I had the wrong number for what I was calling for told me to call the county so I looked for another number to call in said county and a different number popped up but the same person answered and was even ruder than the first time. Honestly if you don’t like the calls from google have them remove your number from searches with wild animal rescue in it. And maybe just have one phone number not multiples. Worst experience for not even working with them. Hope they treat their actual customers better than someone trying to help an animal on a super hot day. 10/10 would not recommend.
Response from Blue Tick Pest & Wildlife Control Inc.
We are sorry you felt that way about your experience on the phone with us Sarah. We try to help people by giving them the correct type of business/organization to call when we simply can not help. That didn’t seem to be what you wanted to hear, and I realize that can be frustrating. When you cuss and call names however, we do have an immediate disconnect policy. That also probably didn’t seem to be what you wanted. I’m sorry you called the wrong place. Have a great Friday Sarah.
Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with Blue Tick, and after spending over $3k and a month with the company we saw no results in a rodent issue we are dealing with. We agreed to do all the steps laid out by the company, which left us with the impression that we would be close to a solution in a weeks time after which they they did a foundation seal and remove a one-way door. When the week was up, they did the seal and set traps in the crawl space as we were still hearing noise. A week later when we still were dealing with noises and the issue, we were told the next service was nearly two months away and we were responsible for checking, removing any caught rats, and rebaiting the traps in the interim. Our new pest control company was only able to find two sticky traps that were no longer sticky in the crawl space. Blue Tick also said we would have to have someone else out to do a foundation seal, despite us paying them $900 for a foundation seal, as the needed work was out of their scope; either they did not do an adequate job or the inspection did not identify the issue correctly, but they still charged us. After a month trying to make progress with Blue Tick, we decided to switch companies, as we felt like we were essentially out of luck with and they were not going to do anything for another month. We gave Blue Tick several chances to make it right and take more aggressive steps, and they declined to respond to several disputes we had over items we were charged for with complete lack of results in our last correspondence. Blue Tick also tried to schedule a $800 Viricide treatment twice, even though they admitted it was not effective when the rodents are still present. I know we will get a response that Blue Tick would never say quick results are possible with rodent, but that was our impression based on the inspection and work order, and at a minimum we certainly expected a much higher level of service and willingness to work with us for the investment we put in to them. I would caution anyone to look for a more cost effective company that will stand by the results and work with you if the solutions are not working.
