Solutions Pest & Lawn, founded in 1958, was the first do-it-yourself pest control store in the country. Starting as a local pest control company the Richard Boyd saw an opportunity to sell the same professional chemicals he was using in his pest control service business directly to homeowners. They bought a small gas station and converted it to a pest control store. The stores have changed hands many times over the years and were sold in 2011 to Zach Colander. Solutions is now family owned and operated and the only direct to consumer manufacturer of insecticides, herbicides, fertilizers, and equipment. We are the nation’s largest and fastest-growing professional pest, lawn, and equipment retailer with a network of stores nationwide.

If you do a search online for fertilizer this will be the first result. After driving to the store I found out they have no inventory in store and the freight fee is almost equal to the cost of the product for shipping. So all in all you end up paying the same and waiting much longer to get the product you need.

Taylor, what fertilizer were you looking for. Checking inventory levels, all of our stores had inventory of the 15-5-10 Weed & Feed along with Barricade. Please let me know what you were needing to see if it was a commonly stocked product or a special purchase. <br>
Meh They are helpful, but… They play funny games with the pricing and shipping. If you buy two little sleeves of whatever and the can and will be packed together anyways they will still double up on the shipping. Same for three to triple shipping cost even though same package and so on. The prices in their store inventory reflect the added shipping cost per item as if they sold it online that way. They treat this as normal, when it’s just a weird way to package higher prices.

We are accustomed to our pet German Shepherd and some unwanted cats showed up in the yard obviously we feed them regularly but these cats caused severe flea infestation including one room. We bought flea collars for both the dog and cats but flea and ticks infested room became totally useless. We wasted more than hundred dollars worth of name brand department store non effective products. Until I went bought 18 Oz of Novacide. And the Clerk was so HONEST " All you need is one can". It WORKS

Extremely deceptive shipping practice. At checkout and on receipts it shows $0.00 shipping but they put a LARGE freight cost in small print under each item. Also called within 4 hours of placing the order and was told I couldn't cancel it because a label was already printed. Will be submitted to BBB.
It’s good to meet people that shoot you straight. Suzanna P did a wonderful job on telling me exactly what I needed and mixing ratios. No hassle no upselling it was a pleasure doing business with her.
Ordered a product, they told me it was damaged in transit but would not give me a tracking number or a shipping company. They refused to do anything because I didn't buy their insurance, horrible company to order from, pretty sure they're running a huge scam on people. Would give negative stars, reported to the BBB.

Got the order wrong (I can understand why, items were very similar), they made things right by sending correct item via expedited delivery. Happy doing business, will do again!!!

I've been a customer of Solutions for 12 years. They've always provided excellent customer service, and their new website is extremely helpful for the DIYer like myself. I've learned a lot from their videos, and was even more excited to learn about the local stores in the Houston area. The store staff are equally knowledgeable and provide excellent advice.

Had to wait 25 minutes for 19 boxes because the lady at the front desk doesn't know how to work with 1 customer at a time, and messed up my purchase because she wasn't focused on one thing at a time. To top that off, I also had to load all 19 boxes in my vehicle by myself, because of her not focusing on one customer at a time. If someone above her could please train her to focus on 1 customer at a time. That would be nice.

Ordered four items online and only received two of the items (10 lb bags of pre-emergent). Contacted customer service to find out what was going on with the missing items and they said they would check with their warehouse and get back to me. They never did and won’t respond to emails asking for updates. Now having to dispute with my credit card. Ratings for brick and mortar store are good and I ordered based on that. Wish I had searched online specifically for online order reviews. They are terrible with many having similar experiences. Save yourself the headache and avoid Solutions Pest & Lawn.
Upon ordering herbicides, I was immediately given a conformation to my order, a deduction from my credit card, an e-mail that the order had shipped and a tracking number. After 2 weeks with no order being delivered, I sent an e-mail to them saying something was wrong and I had not received the order. I was told the items I ordered were on backorder with no idea if/when they would be shipped! I'm sorry but I want to deal with a company who subscribes to "intellectual honesty". This company evidently has no idea what this means. It took several weeks to unwind this order and get my credit back to the credit card.
I ordered $800 worth of product and received 2 items that was not my items. When I called Donna who was the receptionist answered she was nice, but she was having trouble getting a hold of the warehouse. I sent them pictures of what they sent me and the check off list of items that I order. After emailing back and forth about 2 times. She sent me a return label and asked me to send the wrong items they sent me back to them. Then they will give me a refund. She said call her as soon as I drop off the products at fedex. I did just that and it’s going on 3 days since I ‘ve done that and still have not received my refund, a call, or an email. I had trouble with them in the past but they took care of the issue in 24 hours. Very frustrating and disappointing, because I had to reschedule customers so to not having the products I needed.
I purchased a $80.00 chemical for pest control and when it arrived the box was soiled due to the product leaking. I called customer service to report this and was told to take pictures and respond to an email with proof, and I did. An employee by the name of Lance responded to me offering me a $15.00 refund for a product that I paid $80.00 for, which was unacceptable. I declined the refund and requested a replacement product and a return label to ship this mess that was sent to me back but have since received no response. I called customer service again and received no updates or solutions! BEWARE UPDATE... Good Morning, I am following up with you regarding the review that I left. I asked Lance exactly for what you offered, a return label to ship this back for a replacement and have since heard nothing back. I didn't purchase an open item and I wanted a new item as I paid for. As you will see with both orders, I purchased 2 of the transports and one came opened. I have called several times and messages have been left for Lance and or management to get back to me and I have still heard nothing from them. This is totally unacceptable in everyway and a major inconvenience for me but I will continue to make it known how I was treated by this company when all that I did was simply made a purchase to support your company! Please let me know how you wish to proceed THE ABOVE REPLY WAS SENT AS REQUESTED BY THE OWNER AND I STILL HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION SINCE. BEWARE!!!!!!!! AWFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE AND I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANYTHING EVER AGAIN!!!!
Product was shipped with insufficient padding and the bottle broke during transport. Customer Service refused to replace the bottle stating that the product had a know defect and was prone to leaking seals. I don't understand why a company would not take steps to prevent a known issue by packaging the product properly to prevent breakage. They simply stonewalled my multiple requests for replacement. Never had such a poor customer service experience. Will not order from them again.
I bought 6 gallons of Aquashade pond dye online. I never received a email confirmation of shipping for a week so I called. The lady said they were out of stock. I asked if she would cancel it and she said “yes, I will do that”. Another week went by and I hadn’t seen the credit back into my credit card. So I called multiple times and left multiple messages. After the fourth day of trying to get ahold of someone, I received a call from a man who said he’s not sure why I hadn’t been credited and sees the notes to cancel my order. He said he’ll take care of getting it cancelled. The next day, the aquashade arrives damaged. It was poorly packaged in a thin cardboard box with very little tape and was already leaking. I attempted to pick it up and the bottom broke out because they only used a small amount of tape on the thin box and the tops of the bottles weren’t taped either. Two gallons of aquashade exploded as they hit the driveway. It’s been 5 days and the drive doesn’t look any different. It’s blue. I’ve pressured washed it and tried everything but I reckon it’ll be there for years. I emailed the “problem with your order, we care” email that came after the product arrived damaged. After about 5 days they responded and said essentially “not our problem” aquashade seals are known to leak and be do well enough boxing our products. This all could have been avoided if they would have cancelled the our as I asked and by shipping it in a better box, that was taped well, with the aquashade inside sealed plastic bags. Ive bought many chemicals from other companies, including other acid based products, and all come with a bit of extra attention during the packing phase to ensure they don’t leak during transport. I asked for a refund from Solutions and they ignored the request.
