I apologize in advance for the long read. Back in June we realized that we were dealing with bedbugs. I thought I was doing the right thing by contacting my apartments and going through their pest control company (Pioneer Pest Control). I started getting treatments from them in early June. These were my issues 1. Communication they weren’t very communicative with the apartment management with updates unless I called the apartment complex and asked them to reach out to them to get more information 2. The first spray seemed to go as it should ( I am NO pest control expert) but the second spray seemed like it was half done not all the drawers were left open and it just didn’t seem as thorough as the first. (My opinion) 3. After the 3rd treatment I had them come and inspect again (10-14 days after). I had already found a momma and her babies on my bed frame the morning they were coming to check the status of things, but what do I know. I wanted the experts to come take a look. They came out the same day and declared my apartment bedbug free, but something wasn’t sitting right with me. So I called 3 other pest control companies to just come out and look for me the day after their all clear declaration. All 3 found eggs on the headboard in my master bedroom & showed me. They were all polite in saying that either the pest control company I was using just wasn’t educated on this type of bug infestation and missed it or they saw it and were setting me up to spend more money with them. As a single mom this was huge loss for me financially that I had to take on the chin and spend more money with another company to remedy the issue. I don’t want this to happen to another person who’s already over extending themself. I just want to suggest that others not use this company for bed bug services. They may be wonderful at other things but they are definitely lacking in this area. God Bless.

Shawna, I am truly sorry about your experience. I think there was a lot of miscommunication about the events that transpired. I wish you had called our office directly to discuss this service. We work hard to win the trust of our clients, and regret you had this experience.

Rude people
Provider response
Hi James, you are not a client of our company. We called you out to give us an estimate on purchasing old trucks. We have a large sign on our door that asks that a mask be worn when entering our office for the safety and protection of you and our staff during the Covid-19 pandemic. Wearing masks is routinely done by our company in any situation, and masks were worn with no problem by the other vendors we called out for an estimate. You were asked to leave because you were not wearing a mask. I am sorry if you think this is rude, but is in fact common protocol as recommended by the CDC, and is now a common business practice.

They left a tiny note noticing us about our annual house spraying a few days ago. The note was small and hidden in our door reef. A few days later, while out on a five minute walk, they came in and (they claim) sprayed our house. But did not inform us of the time of their arrival, and did not leave a note on the door saying that they spray, so when we came home, the pets were unknowingly exposed to insecticides. Assuming they did spray. Bugs like gnats and little spiders were still alive and well in all corners of the apartment. So they might not have actually spray anything, although they told our leasing agents that they did. We actually have no proof that they came, but they might have, just wish there was some better communication. Not entirely against this business, just wish more transparency existed.
Provider response
Sorry for any confusion. When we treat apartment complexes, there are many on a list ( or in a scheduled building) so individual treatment times cannot be given. Unless food and dishes are out of the cabinets, we provide spot and or crack and crevice treatments unless we are treating for a particular pest issue. There is no problem for pets or children to come in after our treatment. We leave a log in the office showing which units have or have not been treated. Please request service from your office if you have any specific issues so they have permission to allow us entry into your home. We are happy to help!

I called around looking for quotes for pest control in my area since I felt my current exterminator may not be doing a good job. Pioneer Exterminating called me and gave me over 20 minutes of free advice on things I could do on my end to help keep pests out of my home in the first place. He listed off problem areas that could be where bugs are getting in, gave me a list of action items that I should work on to mitigate those factors, and then suggested I talk with my current exterminator to go over the treatment plan. This level of care (even without the promise of a sale) is the type of service you don't see often anymore. While I'm going to take his advice and talk with my current pest control guy, if I'm ever in the market for a new exterminator or know of someone who needs a new pest control company, Pioneer will be my first choice!
