Emerald Lawns is yet another case study of the dramatic nosedive in the quality of everyday consumer services in America. A few months ago, I had to call them back to my lawn to re-treat weeds in my back yard after paying them $68 for the original service. There were actually more weeds AFTER the original treatment than before (shaking my head). My most recent (and final) adventure with Emerald Lawns concerns them fraudulently hitting my credit card for the unauthorized amount of $331.15 on top of the $68+ I had just paid them for an authorized lawn treatment on March 16. Calling their "customer service" number is like calling the airport. After waiting 30 minutes on hold (with Randy Newman's "You've Got a Friend in Me" playing on a constant loop in my ear), I finally connected with a human being, however, there is no resolution to the fraudulent charge. Instead of an instant refund from Emerald Lawns, I got the run-around. When I disputed the charge with my credit card provider, they recommended I cancel the credit card, which I did. Do yourself a favor and avoid this company. Their top priority is expansion and revenue. The only green they're interested in is the Almighty Dollar, not your lawn.

Although service was preformed on the lawns front and back. The technician failed to closed side gate completely and make sure it was secure resulting in the gate swing back open and our dogs got out. Luckily they didn’t get far and were only down the street, our cameras alerted us that triggered the motion. Thinking about cancelling our service and finding someone else that will be more responsible rather than just closing the gate and leave.

I do not recommend their services; they are overpriced, and when they come by for ‘spray,’ it only lasts two to three minutes. We have not seen any results from their ‘services’. I contacted their office and obviously, they don't understand the meaning of ‘NO’ we are extremely disappointed with them and want to stop their phone calls and text messages.

This company is extremely unprofessional. It is February 4th and I still have not yet gotten my christmas lights taken down even though I was promised that they would be taken down and now I am receiving letters from my HOA that I will be fined.

Had xscaped a section of my yard. Told Emerald they need to remeasure my yard to adjust cost. Was contacted a person would be out there. Never happened. They came out to put down another application and I was charged regular price. Called to cancel and the person didn’t ask why. So I guess they have too many customers to deal with. I’ll go with another company more reputable.

They cut a lot of corners when servicing your yard. The top dressing is scam. They will charge full price for it with missed sections and so little product spread it will leave you wondering what exactly you paid for.

Same wasp nest has been looking at me for nearly three weeks. Can I remove it? Of course, but it's the principle, not to mention I am paying for a certain level of service. Contacted company three times and same response..."we'll get this done asap" and no one comes, nothing happens. Terrible service...not sure how this company gets so many good reviews. Too many good companies out there to be dealing with this.

This company has not helped my yard one bit i called about a simple fertilizer and apparently the works package (that they threw into my fiancé and said i wanted cause she handled the house stuff. I never asked for btw) and now i have dead spots all over my yard which were not here before i started this contract. They came out rice and “handled it apparently and more and more keep popping up. Go another route. My yard was in amazing condition before them minus some crabgrass that i asked to the controlled. Look at these photos then ask if you want to do this.

I paid to have my yard leveled and they barely added any sand. First, when I called them to prep, as they didn’t even leave instructions, they said to mow 1.5-2” long. Usually when you level you want the grass short so you can see the not level areas. Thought this was a bit strange. Second, once the guys did the sanding they just left. They didn’t walk the yard with me at all. I did see them do a drag of the yard but at no time did I see a leveling rake come out. There was clumps of sand just sitting on top of the grass which when a leveling rake was used, just fell down. There is 1/8” to 1/4” of sand if any in most of my yard and it is not “level” in any sense of the word. In fact, my yard was in decent shape before this work and now it has burn marks from the sand was not worked into the grass that was taller than it was supposed to be (based on their instructions). I called customer service to get someone to come deal with the situation. First call was met with attitude and they said they’d forward a message to the regional guy, second time when I said I wanted to cancel my service was met with a helpful attitude but still no resolution. I needed someone to come out and see what was done because it was 100% not was they advertised or what leveling is supposed to be. To this date no one has contacted me directly or reached out to see if they could come meet with me about the work. They advertised professional tooling and PGA grade sand, but there are now large rocks and dirt clots in my yard. I did this as a convenience so that I did not have to spend my weekend leveling my yard but at this rate I would not recommend this service or Emerald Lawns for yard service. I will update this post if they choose to make it right (refund or corrected work), but it will stay until they do. Update: their area manager came out and agreed that this work was inadequate. They are coming again to fix, but I had to call their customer support to get that update. I feel as though someone should be actively trying to fix this, not make it worse. I am cancelling all future service until this is fixed or refunded. You can see in the last photos the scalping that occurs because the yard is not level.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the service provided by Emerald Lawns. Our experience has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. Firstly, the company attempted to charge us twice for work that was not completed. The technician reported that the gate was locked, which was untrue as we were home and specifically discussed with him that having one gate locked wouldn't be an issue. He assured us it was fine, then proceeded to spray only the front yard and left without doing the back. When we contacted the company, they rescheduled to complete the service, which should have been done initially. The technician had the opportunity to do the back yard but chose not to. As a result, our lawn is turning more brown, despite the company's claim that their spray promotes drought resistance. In reality, it's just an upsell that doesn't work. Furthermore, the product they use to eliminate weeds is ineffective. Our yard is now overrun with weeds, and the fertilizer they applied has done nothing to address the problem. To make matters worse, when I called the company to speak to a manager about these issues, my calls were ignored. It is clear that management does not care about their customers. If they can't be bothered to return a call, it shows how little they value their clients. Overall, I am very unhappy with Emerald Lawns and would not recommend their services to anyone. They provide subpar products, incomplete services, and have poor customer service. Save yourself the hassle and look elsewhere for your lawn care needs.

Stay away! The company will take little to no accountability for poor results. Emerald lawns serviced my lawn for 4 months with no improvement. I understand results will not be overnight, but I would at least expect my lawn to be trending in the right direction. They canceled my account promptly on request but the resolution agent was very defensive and quickly refused a paltry $71.00 refund for the last visit and even had the resolve to accuse me of not mowing frequently enough, ect. We mow at a height of 2 inches as often as possible and water within the confines of stage 2 water restrictions. I am very disappointed with the lack of customer service.

In January 2024 I used Emerald Sprinklers to repair a small leak in the photo shown below. They offered a free estimate. I had high hopes that they would be priced like everyone else. But they were not. They charged me $375 for a repair that took 40 minutes, I will never use these price gougers again
