In spite of some confusion in scheduling due to my new phone number, the crew arrived and got right to work pruning my HUGE black walnut tree and worked 5 hours on what I wanted done. Their cleanup was AWESOME!!

I hired SavATree to prune a 50 year old, 3 story silver maple. Austin Veatch, SavATree arborist, spent an hour assessing the trees on my city-sized house lot and making recommendations. I was concerned about squirrels burrowing into the silver maple trunk and asked about the health of the tree. I treasured Austin’s response that trees are amazing living resilient structures. He noted the tree was healthy but stressed due to major street construction that likely damaged tree roots. After pruning, I hired SavATree to apply a custom fertilizer mixture for 2 years to nourish the tree as it rebounded to health. The tree pruner used a motorize lift to reach branch to cut then lower to the ground by rope. I valued the safety steps that were evident (tree pruner wore safety strap, prune and coworkers on ground agree when ready to cut each branch). They used a chipper to dispose of the branches. They raked the lawn which was left very clean. I plan to contact Austin and use SavATree for future tree maintenance needs.

We just had SavATree do a myriad of work on our mature oak trees, and they did a wonderful job. Phil was courteous and honest in terms of what work could be done, should be done, and needed to be done. We had a tree removal, the supporting of a tree with a through-rod, tree trimming, and hemp treatment done for our trees. Jordan and his crew that came to complete those services couldn't have been more courteous with our property, and professional in their operation. They were on time, and done quickly. It also means a lot that they were very conscious of environmental impacts as well.

The arborist we had, Philip Mix was great and dealt with Xcel energy to get some trimming around the power wires done when they wouldn't really respond to me. Much better experience than with the guy from last year, who claimed to want to help but didn't seem to do much.

If you are looking for a tree service look no further than SavATree. I needed several small tree's cut down, bushes trimmed, best a huge Ash tree removed. The Ash tree was in bad spot being very close to my house and the garage. After an exhausting intensive search, including several estimates I found SavATree, and Phil Mix. He answered all my questions and concerns. The quote he gave me was more than fair. Phil and his crew are top notch, best in the business. They are extremely knowledgeable and professional. They did such a wonderful job for me my neighbor had one of his tree's cut down the same day. I really can't say enough positive comments about Phil and his crew.

We requested a consultation and estimate for a tree removal and a second visit for christmas light installation for which they were on time for and showed up for and were very friendly. The second part in which they send the estimate to us was the issue for both counts. We never received an estimate both times. I tried calling to see about receiving the estimate, but just got sent to voicemail several times by the phone answerer so gave up. It’s amazing businesses can survive on this type of business model over time.

Our request was to prune a front yard tree where branches were not hitting the house. In our mind, pruning is removing limbs to accomplish a goal and leave a balanced profile for the tree. While the 4-5 limbs touching the house were removed, the tree still looks shabby (not clean and balanced). The crew spent 5 minutes working and the charge was exhorbitantly high for that 5 minutes of work. We were not informed about a $500 minimum trip fee. We do not recommend this company.

Accepted their proposal and paid half down. It has been 3.5 weeks and I haven't heard from them proactively once. Only time I heard from them was 10 days after I paid because I called to complain and see why I hadn't heard from anyone. Now it has been two more weeks and I haven't heard back. Worst customer service experience I've had with a contractor. I am easy to please and come from customer service industry but expect basic acknowledgement after I pay you $2,300+.

Prepaid for treatments. Had to hassle them about 15 times to actually get service out to my house. After all that they proceeded to bill me for treatment I already paid for. No response from email communication inquiring about the second bill.

Has not followed thru on what he was paid to do last year.

Be warned, if you purchase one of their tree treatments they automatically sign you up for yearly treatments. In 2022 I did a kelp treatment for 2 white oaks in my front yard, nobody told me I was being signed up for yearly treatment so in 2023 they just came and did the treatment again and sent me a bill. No phone call, text, or email to let me know they were coming. Also, the rate went up $100 dollars and they didn’t even have the courtesy to contact me and notify me of the rate increase. There is a line in the estimate that says you are being signed up for annual service which I missed, but something as important as this should really be discussed and they should make contact with you before just doing the service again. Literally every other company I work with that has quarterly or annual service has the courtesy to contact me ahead of time. Save yourself some trouble and choose one of the other companies for your tree services.

This review is for either the Hopkins or St. Louis Park location. Over 5 yrs we have had abt 4 different arborists assigned + their names appear on these 2 different locations. Current arborist, Tim, listed in St. L Park but manager, Jim, is from Hopkins...very confusing to deal with. Have never used for tree removal..received an on-site "guesstimate" abt 3 yrs ago for $4,200 so went with one of two other companies who both were under $2,000. Tried their lawn service in 2022 + after 6 months, ended up with twice as many weeds so cancelled that program. Were using them for Ash Borer protection + evergreen mites but have now switched to a more reliable company with better communication + customer service. Latest issue was the "trimming" of two 6 foot bushes last fall which failed to come back this year except for a few dozen weak, 10 inch stems. These will not regain any height for several years......a fact that was not explained to me but the manager says they can't provide that information with the quote because they "have no idea how they will recover". I thought that knowledge was what we were paying for??? They were a critical part of the landscape which must now be replaced. The manager refuses to provide any assistance because the quote was signed for pruning 10 to 12 inches. And, this type of aggressive cutting down should have been done in the spring, not the fall but that fact is of no interest to them. This fiasco was brought to their attention in early June + they failed to address it timely, didn't examine the correct items ( looked at a lilac TREE rather than the Dogwood bush + told us it looked good), had very poor response to phone calls + texts until last week. Two months to address a simple request...this company's mistakes, poor results + non-existent customer service are not worth the aggravation.

$1700 is ridiculous for two trimmed trees with a returned visit because the job was not done right the first time which took several weeks to get done with no communications or follow-up. I also asked that the dead branches be left on an existing pile, but what actually happened was that both the dead branches and existing pile were removed.

Paid their deposit after one of their representatives came out to look at the tree. They then were a no show twice when coming to take the tree down. I took time off of work both times. The 2nd time they didn't show, someone from the company came out early morning to mark the tree and meet with me. He said his crew would be by before lunch to take it down. At lunch time, I get a text saying that they weren't going to make it. It took me 3 phone calls and 10 days to get my deposit back. *Update* In reply to their response, I do have the right tree company. I am writing this review under an alias, as I'm not interested in any problems that could arise due to this review.

Horrible job, half cut trees in Fridley Terrace. Left large branches behind my house. Fire hazard!
