This company is a mess. They acquired our previous pest company who was great. When they became Modern Pest is when the problems began. Costs inflated, they were regularly ignoring our requests to call us let them into the house and would only spray outside on those days (it's a rental property), it would take them weeks to respond to messages, the list goes on. All of this might have been fine if they were actually controlling the pests. I've never seen more carpenter ants in my house than I did this past week. This place is generally awful at what they do. Skip over this one and choose a local pest control guy or a bigger outfit that knows how to serve their customer base.
Modern pest has serviced our home for years. Preventative measures minimize seasonal issues. Mice in our kitchen (haven't seen one interior for over 25 yrs) had a Tech here urgent at the end of his long day. He was poised, poite, listened and professional. I commend Michael Rivera . He was so patient with my anxiety. Shored up cracks and gaps with supplies visible. A follow up today the issue appears to be in washroom. Michael was focused in conveying knowledge and treatment for mice. I'd recommend him to anyone looking for a respectful Technician.
Unless service. Mice got worse. They put down poison boxes only for 300 then 50 a month for 12 months . We easily could get bate at home depot for 10 bucks . We set all our own traps , scope the whole parameter and for 2 days sealed any and all holes. Fixed the prob ourselves and still paying 50 a month until April. Horrible service , save you money. Getting in touch with BBB tomorrow.
Requested flea/mite services Cost was over $500. When tech came out no inspection was done and treatment consisted of 2 cans of spray. Scam. Save your money.

Jarvis was here for the second. He is the only employee who has checked for openings, filled any possible holds. he did also check the garage.

This company was Premier Pest, now Modern Pest. Be careful of "self renewing" agreements that must be terminated in WRITING. My experience is that they just showed up, unanounced, and you will have to pay per the contract. Someone at our property, 7 years prior, who moved, had signed the agreement.
Andrew was a wonderful professional who listened closely, showed caring, found the 2 hives in a minute, removed them without incident (including getting on the roof), and sprayed thoroughly so that we will not have further wasps. I am so pleased! Very thorough and a great communicator!
Andrew came today 6!24/25 to check on my mice problem. What amazing guy!! He checked all my boxes talk to me about his concerns. Filled in holes so the little creatures couldn't get In. Plus a LOT MORE!! . If I get Andrew everytime I will continue using. He such a a valuable asset to your company. If I could him 10 Stars I would. Thanks Shelley
I was very pleased at the service we had today from Mark. The service request was for him to check and refill our indoor and outdoor bait stations. He checked, filled and then photographed each one. Very polite and Mark knows his stuff.
Edited to add: because I wrote this review about their awful communication and not answering phones- they had me wait all day today for a scheduled appt 8-2 and cancelled it without calling me to tell me. Complete retaliation. Service was already paid for and booked weeks ago. Canceling my contract and getting a refund. All other reviews must be family and friends. It’s been 2 years of stress with this place and all I want is to schedule an appointment. Pretty sad. Nothing but issues since they purchased our contract through Accurate Pest Control. I miss Accurate Pest Control so much. This place is completely unresponsive. For anyone else who is a client and can’t get through - they very actively answer their “sales line” option (#2) - so that is the only place you can call to get someone to answer the phone without being on hold for 20+ minutes at a time. No one that does answer really has any actual answers because they’re all “new” (even though kind). Either they say that just to appease people or they have high turnover. The email on their site- completely unresponsive as well. Takes several days to weeks to get a response. I loathe this place but didn’t have time to find another provider before my system renewed. Will definitely be looking to take all our needs elsewhere for next year. Terrible company to do business with.

Jeffrey Ham from Modern Pest was great. We had a freak snow/ice storm the date original service was scheduled. He still showed up even though it made the service nearly impossible. Modern promptly rescheduled the service, and Jeffrey came back out to take care of us. Jeffrey was very courteous and professional, great guy!
Great experience with Modern Pest and their technician, David. David is a real professional. He was personable, knowledgeable and thorough. Like any true professional he builds substantial trust with the customer, in this case this morning, with me. Thank you Modern Pest and thank you David!!

Jeffrey Ham is always very professional, thorough and informative. He has resolved multiple pest concerns for us and we are still pest free!
The last guy came to my store found bugs and they gave birth and told me they have to spray every time they come here and right now the new guy came and he told me, they don't spray anymore. named Adam Lipies I am paying them for nothing. They are not doing what we have on our contract. Wasting money, ridiculous service.

Modern Pest continually sends ill-equipped or physically challenged technicians. Several times, the technician has shown up without a ladder to reach our attic. Once, the technician was too short to reach bait on high shelfs and did not bring a grasping tool (or step stool) to assist. Today, an injured technician showed up who could not climb a ladder to due to injury. His manager sent him know this and to the technician to "do the best he could". His best of course, was not good enough. Today, after several managers at the company made excuses and not solutions for these issues, we fired them. My advice...STAY AWAY.

We originally contacted Modern to exterminate wasps that are active in our home. We paid monthly for service for three years and still have wasp activity to this day. We complained several times and kept having them return, getting different technicians, some of whom were afraid to climb ladders to access where wasps had gotten in eves of home. The technicians were all very friendly but not trained properly. We were extremely patient with Modern and gave them ample time to eradicate the wasps. Needless to say we are extremely unsatisfied and would not recommend.

I own a second home and rely on a pest control company to keep insects and mice out of the home. I have been a customer for 5 years and there was a time that the service was great. The home was well taken care of in regard to insects and mice. The past year or two I have experienced a significant increase in pest infestation and promises that it will be taken care of. I recently (11/6/22) had the home inspected and the interior is covered with dead cluster flies and insects. I requested a treatment in August which is supposed to prevent this problem. I have made many complaints over the past 2 years and this problem persists. Very upset about this and am looking for another company that will take care of my home.

I have been a regular customer for about three or four years now. AVOID THEM. GO TO ANOTHER PEST COMPANY WHO IS MORE PROFESSIONAL. The company automatically calls you to schedule service so when I got a call in January, I called them back to check on their sceduling. During the call, I was advised on the price of my service which was considerably higher that the past year. What bothers me so much, is that the company has had lots of issues since taking over South Hadley business. The customer service has been very poor and management seems to turn the other way and not address these issues. Pest management never notified me of a price increase, they just told me that on the phone after they scheduled my service for this month. Had I know sooner, and been notified by mail, I would have had the opportunity to investigate other options. I spoke with Brian the supervisor, but nothing came of that conversation. I emailed the marketing director William Haynes, and never got a reply from him. This company has shafted me for the last time.

The Mass pest law requires this company to work directly with the landlord of a dwelling vs the person living with the infestation. Ok, understandable. But dont expect them to be able to tell you where theh sprayed or what they sprayed unless the landlord puts you on the account. We have always seen carpet beetles in this apartment since moving in. We were not sure what they were.This year we saw a huge amount in the apartment. Premier Pest (I assume this turned into Modern Pest) came 2 to 3 years ago for ants in the apartment. They awnsered questions and were great to work with. Brian was in charge at this time. This time around, after changing to Modern Pest, John inspected the apartment and told me an immense amount of times he could not talk to me about the spraying, etc because the landlord is responsible. Yet he told me the apartment would need to be sprayed a few times to stop the issue... They sprayed once with no talk of coming back. So they sprayed once and I contacted my landlord saying nothing changed. They came back and sprayed one more time very lightly. Anyway, after spraying twice for carpet beetles and moths, we still have some in the apartment. My landlord says nothing can be done further. We are moving thankfully this month. So, I'm not sure why they didnt spray the couch for "furniture" carpet beetles. We ended up throwing away our couch and my fiance threw away much of his military gear from years back. After a call to John filled with "I cant tell you that, talk to your landlord", (my landlord told me to call John, lol) John offered to come back and spray the furniture. He didnt need to. We threw it out and it was infested! 🙄
