Falsely claimed to have cleaned up the attic from a flying squirrel nest that included: removing all debris and sanitizing. Despite the photo evidence they kept making scheduling excuses not to return.

I had a persistent pigeon problem on my second-floor balcony that was creating a huge mess and I'm so glad I contacted Critter Control. From the very beginning, the entire team, Brian and Howard were professional, responsive and provided me with a quote on a timely basis. The technicians, Peter and Alex did an outstanding job. They installed bird spikes and pods on the roof as well as protective grates around the solar panels. They were knowledgeable, courteous, and clearly took pride in doing the job thoroughly. Most importantly, the problem has now been completely resolved. My balcony is finally clean and usable again. I truly appreciated the excellent service I received from the team. I highly recommend Critter Control of Boston to anyone dealing with nuisance birds or wildlife problems.

FANTASTIC experience with this company, highly recommend if you are having any issues/concerns about critters in your home. Everyone I interacted with was a pleasure to work with, and are assets to the Critter Control of Greater Boston team!! I completed the contact form on a Monday night after hearing some animal noises in my walls/ceiling. The next day, Mikayla emailed and after a few communications, I had an appointment scheduled with Howard to come out for a free inspection on Thursday! CCGB was flexible in accommodating my schedule for the timeframe of the appointment and overall very responsive...I'm still waiting to hear from the 2nd company I contacted that Monday night. Howard arrived on time, asked me to describe what I had experienced and shared a ton of information about different animal behaviors/noises that immediatley put me at ease (I don't have raccoons living in my attic) and it allowed me to feel comfortable again in my home! Howard is awesome and SO knowledgeable of wildlife - I learned a lot!!

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Hi Ellen, We appreicate you leaving us this wonderful review. Our customers love Howard and he always provides the highest level of service. Thanks again for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. The Critter Control Team,

Cannot say enough about Critter Control and Jairo our technician. We found a mouse stirring in our house on Christmas and they were able to come out very quickly, assess the situation and put a plan in place. Jairo was very knowledgeable and professional. He addressed all our questions and concerns. While I hope to never need services like this, I am glad we can count on Critter Control to be there in the event we do. Highly recommend!!

Update 12/30: 10 days after the solar guards installation, raccoon came back and climbed to the roof. I informed Howard and felt discouraged. Thanks to Howard, he showed up regularly and kept trapping even though no raccoon sightings until 20 days later. Surely it came back but only this time caught by the decoy trap. I was ready to throw in the towel all this time. Previous wild life company I hired told me there is nothing to do about trap shy raccoon and charged me $450 for two traps for three weeks with no result. Thank you, Howard! Final Note: bird spikes don’t work on raccoon (see photo) *********************** My experience with Critter Control of Greater Boston was very good. I should've gone to them 4 months ago. In the past years, we have had animals on the roof: squirrels, pigeons, birds and now raccoon, likely due to the solar panels. After repairing our roof in August, raccoon returned. After hiring wildlife control and two traps didn't do anything, I needed more help. Howard showed up on time, assessed my situation and offered solutions previous companies didn't. The crew did a great job installing solar guards. The raccoon could still return but for now, the roof is protected and Howard is a team player so I feel good. Don't wait for the problem to get worse, raccoons can cause a lot of damages and they are persistent.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Thank you for your wonderful feedback, Laura! We’re thrilled to hear about your positive experience with Howard and our team at Critter Control of Greater Boston. It's great to know that our solutions made a difference in protecting your roof from wildlife. We appreciate your advice to others about addressing these issues promptly. If you are having wildlife issues in or around your home, call Critter Control of Boston first. Squirrels set up their winter home under my solar panels. I needed a permanent solution to remove the squirrels and avoid future return visits. I called several companies: left messages, unreturned calls, unresponsive. Lexi of Critter Control listened to my situation and let me know that their Field Manager, Ben, would get back to me after I send my solar panel layout! Ben called me the same day with a quote! Alex, removed the squirrel nest and then installed PVC-coated, galvanized steel mesh. Alex’s installation was top notch. The critter guards come with a 5-year warranty and I no longer have to worry about squirrels damaging my solar panels. If you’re looking for a responsive company that addresses your needs and holds high standards for quality workmanship and reasonable rates, Critter Control of Boston should be your first call!

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Thank you for your positive feedback and taking the time to write such kind words. We're thrilled to hear that our team met your expectations with their friendliness and efficiency. Staff are professional and satisfied with services but should tour inside the house every other visit. Also, should notify a day before scheduled visit.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Hi Nancy, Thank you for the review. Our program is based on the outside stations doing the lionshare of the work on preventing mice from building a population on the inside of the home. If you do see or hear any activity inside the home we a more than happy to perfrom an inside service visit. I can have our pest control manager give you a call to address any specific questions or concerns you have with your account and level of service. Also, we are working with our order managment system provider on making system enhancments to automatically send out pre service visit reminders so you know the day we will be servicing your property. Thanks again, The Critter Control team

Over all a very good company. The owner Dan is directly involved and cares about his company. Like anything sometimes there's hick ups but in the end they always make it right. I've been using them for at least 10 years anywhere from squirrel's in my attic to extremely big rat problem's. It was a very tricky problem as my homes abutter's are two restaurants and two dumpster's the rats could feed from but in the end they have got the problem under control. I can comfortably suggest this company.

I know that reviews are good, but I don't recommend this company if you have an issue that is a little tricky. We've been hearing a critter in our primary bedroom walls so called Critter Control since they had high star ratings. They came out, said they found the hole where the critter got in and quoted us $6k to fix the hole, maintenance on other risk areas around our house and sterilizing / cleaning once the critter was out. They also said they wouldn't charge us until the work was completed. After we agreed, they charged us first thing on the scheduled day of work (before they actually did the work). They didn't end up sterilizing, even though they charged it, and said that the corporate office cancelled it. After hours on the phone, they finally came out to complete the job. Fast-forward two weeks and we're still hearing the critter in the same exact spot. We called and left messages at least 5 times before finally getting through to someone. They sent someone else out who basically just said that all the work they did was done correctly so there's nothing else they can do and that we'd have to call the corporate office again to complain if we weren't satisfied. I understand it's tricky but we paid them a TON of money to fix a problem in a very specific spot - so it's not like they have to search a lot of areas - but they just shrug their shoulders and ghost us because it's not an easy cookie-cutter problem to solve. It's really unprofessional and disappointing. Unless you have a problem that is super easy to solve, I wouldn't call these guys. Go for someone who is truly local and not one that just advertises as such (we live in eastern MA and all of our technicians came from Worcester and beyond). They get you in with great customer service at first, but thereafter it's you just leaving messages that never get returned.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Nicole, I am very sorry about your experience with this company, but you have the wrong google page. I am the owner operator of Critter Control of Greater Boston, I am involved in all day to day operations. We do not have you in our data base as a customer and your description is definitely not how we conduct business. We are located in Waltham, and do not have any technicians coming from Worcester or anywhere in that direction as it is outside my territory. Further more, we handle any issues that may arise with customers in house, and if it is a problem, it ends up with me. This would never get passed on to a "corporate office". And generally, we do not charge any customer in advance, or even at the start of the job. Our customers are invoiced when the job is complete and they are fully satisfied.<br><br>Please give us a call and ask for me, I will see if I can help get this resolved for you.<br><br>Dan Master<br>617-975-0440

Critter Control came to my property a few times and never resolved the issue. Called them again and they refused to come to my property and get the job done. They told me they wouldn't come to get the issue resolved due to some prior payment disputes back in 2021 and ironically, they came to my property to work on the same issue in 2023 with no problems. This doesn't make any sense and in addition, the customer service was very rude, she hang up on me when I was trying to find out if there's misunderstanding. Anyways, this company is not reliable and doesn't provide the quality of work.

On 6/19/2025, my uncle woke up to a bat flying around in the small room he had been asleep in. I called and got one of your guys to come over and get the bat out. I was working on organizing logistics for my uncle’s rabies treatment (he was completely on board with getting the treatment) when I got a call from my uncle, who handed the phone to your guy. Your guy started telling me exactly what he told my uncle: “You don’t get rabies from bats. Bats don’t like to go on you. The treatment would be a waste of time.” Umm, CDC guidelines say if you wake up to a bat in the room with you, you GET RABIES TREATMENT. Now my uncle won’t get the treatment, and my mom, who also lives in this crazy bat house, is also now dumber about bats. I am horrified and heartbroken that we shelled out almost $500 for your guy to brainwash my family into not getting treatment, which could potentially lead to the worse death there is.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Rachel,<br><br>I am very sorry to read this review , I take this very seriously and know this is a stressful situation. This is why we offer emergency service. Our answering service received the call from the resident at the location, who I assume is your uncle, at 3:20 am, and my technician was on site by approximately 5 am. Even in the middle of the night we do our best to provide the best service possible. If there was a miscommunication regarding possible exposure, I apologize as I know it is extremely important that this information is provided accurately. When a bat is in the living space of the home, my technicians are trained to read the following information to the customer or resident.<br><br>"The MA Department of public Health considers it a potential rabies exposure when an individual or pet has had direct contact with a bat, or if contact was possible. Direct contact is considered to be a bite, scratch or other physical contact. The "possibility" of contact exists if a bat was "close" to an unattended child, a person who was sleeping, a person with sensory or mental impairment, or a pet. Massachusetts Department of Public Health, Division of Epidemiology and Immunization (617-983-6800, available 24/7) can help you determine if the bat should be tested or if you require treatment."<br><br>My technician reports that he was working directly with the man who lived at the home, I assume this is your uncle, and another female resident. He read them the above information. He said your uncle told him the bat was not in the room with him while he was asleep, that he was watching T.V. when he saw it, and was adamant that he did not want rabies shots. I believe it is possible this led to him overstating what my technician said regarding this matter. <br><br>Although it is possible the communication was not as clear as it could have been, my technician would never say "you don't get rabies from bats". <br><br>Please call the office and ask for me. As the owner of the company, I would like to discuss this with you directly and work on a solution so this does not happen again and to see if there is anything we can do for you to improve this situation.<br><br><br>Dan Master<br>Critter Control of Greater Boston

This man thought my cat was a “critter” and for lack of better words unalived my poor sweet Sampson. He was 12 years old. For 12 years I loved him and this man took him from me. I’m so disappointed in this company and his unprofessional behavior that followed this tragedy.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Cassandra, I am so sorry to hear about Sampson. This sounds awful and completely unacceptable. As the owner of Critter Control of Greater Boston, I take this very seriously and I can tell you with 100% certainty that this was not our office or in my territory. Each Critter Control franchise is independently owned and operated. If you give me a call I would be happy to help figure out which office it was and address it with the right people. 617-975-0440. Animal (raccoon) in Gable Vents: although Chris (technician) was punctual and communicated well, disappointed in the service Critter Control provided as they not only didn't catch/remove the raccoon (see contraption photo of final attempt) they also did not properly dispose of a skunk that was caught in one of the traps near our entry leaving a terrible stench.

Response from Critter Control of Greater Boston

Mark, I am sorry you had an experience with a service provider that you were not happy with, but I believe you have posted this review for the wrong company. I have checked our customer data base and your last name is not in it, we do not have an employee named Chris here, and based on your photos, I can assure you this is not a service that we provided. I am the owner of Critter Control of Greater Boston and I am directly involved with the day to day operations, all customer satisfaction issues are brought to my attention and I address them personally.
