STAY FAR AWAY!!! This company is practicing unethical and fraudulent behavior. On 3/14/26 two men pulled up to our house in a small pickup truck and proceeded to lean a ladder against our house. When asked why they were there and they said they were cleaning the gutters. I immediately told them that they were not authorized to do so. They showed me a card that is routinely put on a doorknob and I called the number on the card. I told the man that answered that we never authorized a gutter cleaning and I was sending the men away. He said he had a verbal contract from my husband from 2023 and I told him that I had been dealing with another company for 3 years and that was impossible. He said he would cancel any further communications and that we would not be charged. Later that day or the next, my husband received a phone call from "Carlos" from the same company saying that the men indeed did a gutter cleaning and that we owed $357. I called back and spoke to a woman who was "trained" to talk over whatever I said. She insisted that the work was done and that they had pictures of the men on the roof and recordings of the phone calls. I told her that if she had recordings of the phone calls, then she had the call that I placed sending the men away and being told there would be no charge. Stay far away from this company. I have reported them to the FTC, the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General's office. I would like to sue them for trespassing on my private property.

I have used several gutter cleaning services but Ned Stevens is the most professional including customer service via phone and email, work done at the house cleaning gutters and installing new downspouts. The crew showed me the busted seams on the old downspouts they removed. Quotes are submitted in writing very professionally with tentative dates included. They text you when on the way. They performed an extra service at no extra charge securing a downspout to the house after another contactor had dislodged it. Not the cheapest gutter cleaning service I have ever paid but you do get what you pay for. They are very responsive and listen very well. I am under contract for a full year.

Interesting company marketing tactics. They called and left me a vm about their gutter cleaning services around Thanksgiving. I googled and figured I use A1 Exterminators (their affiliates) who I have a great relationship with. The next week I got a flyer in the mail about the same services - open 364 days a year clean gutters year round. About had been going on and I missed my window to clean them on my own. I ended up calling Dec2 2025 to get a price and book. I knew i was late in the season and unfortunately we had gotten some snow so I figured it might be delayed. After booking the customer service rep told me within 2 weeks they’d be out it just had to be over 37 and under a certain amount of rain. I said ok. I gave it 6 weeks and called after no service. They promised they would be out ASAP weather permitting. Still nothing. Since I booked there have been over 2 weeks of days that fall over 37 degrees and no rain (I just looked it up to confirm). I’m not sure the goal of this company? Maybe they are just loading up on new customers for the spring? My experience is terrible so far. They’ll make an excuse now because it snowed yesterday but the proof is in the data. There has been plenty of time to get out here since Dec2. Don’t market or sell a service you won’t do. If they ever come out I’ll change the stars and add to this review. Update: I’ve edited and updated my review. Ned’s made it out last Thursday 3/12. Thanks to Jose & Crew for doing a great job. Thanks to Kristy in customer service as well for getting this scheduled. Snowy February definitely delayed this job, but as stated earlier this could’ve gotten done well before as I scheduled in the beginning of December. Either way, review updated and I give them 3 stars now.

Thanksgiving day gutter clean never happened. Contractors came , put up a ladder, loaded the ladder onto the truck and drove away.. no explanation Had to disrupt Thanksgiving day to call Ned’s 3 times finally getting an appt for the next day They showed, but spoke NO ENGLISH so my roof walking restriction except over the deck did not happen. The walked front and back. Old roof let’s see what happens. Then asked for pictures and they signaled company would send Got the bill and NO PICTURES of my rear gutter cleaned or the downspouts working just a bunch of pix of my house? Why ? My first encounter with NEDS was not good Saw water going out 3 of my 4 downspouts when it rained? Rear gutter cleaned!? Beware…. Of Neds… no money up front. The people they send bid for the job I think NO “NEDS”EMPLOYEES That’s it my honest review they asked for You can decide! UPDATE: I want you to know that a supervisor came out saw what was not done, sent new crew and the gutters snd down spouts were cleaned. I’ll take it as a hick up and will use them again revising this review again May even work there way up to a 5 star, we shall see

Other than going to the neighbor's house first and setting up the ladder, I then informed the technicians to come over to the right house. They completed the job but had some issues such as ice in the gutters and may have lifted a couple of roof shingles. The job location was 3 Reagan Ave, Franklin MA

These people never showed up. We bought a house in the late fall and the gutters needed cleaning. Called Ned up and we were really clear we wanted the gutters cleaned before it snows. They said they would come the next day and were quick to charge us for a full year worth of cleaning. They never showed up the next day because of "bad weather". We rescheduled 2 more times and each time they always cancel day or because of "bad weather". Today they cancelled again for the same reason even though it's a warm 40 degree winter day. I am tired of this company's excuses. We are immediately filing a dispute with our credit card company and with the BBB. I'd recommend everyone who wants their gutters cleaned go elsewhere.

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS SNAKEY COMPANY. I reached out for a one-time cleaning service which went fine aside from the inspections report and follow-up emails claiming that gutter issues were found requiring additional help. This and the fact they ask to keep a card on-file already tipped us off that the company might be scammy. The bigger issue arose when a month later we were hit with a charge for another cleaning service that we weren't even aware was scheduled. Come to find out after they forwarded me a recording, they mistook my initial phone call as a verbal agreement to a seasonal service plan. Communications regarding this service plan were not explicit enough (ex. always in small text at the end of emails) which made it difficult to notice sooner. A reminder was received the day before our first cleaning, but not for the second (since per their company policy, crews are sent out automatically and don't need to be scheduled) which also gave us no chance to cancel until after it had happened. The company also only accepts service cancellations over the phone, not via email/text, for reasons of "ensuring accuracy" - which was another unnecessary hurdle and red flag. I called to ask for a refund for the second service since it was not disclosed to us clearly enough that we locked into a yearly plan, but was only offered more sales pitch of being partially credited if we didn't cancel completely.

This company took over for a local business (NE Gutter Kings) that I'd used for years and it's been all downhill ever since. This season, I booked (in October) a gutter cleaning for the 2nd half of November. Not only did that not happen at all, but when I called today (12/1) to find out what was going on, I waited on hold for 40 minutes (listening to a robo loop about all the company's distinctions and awards), then was told the cost would be $40 more than I was quoted and, wait for it... the cleaning wouldn't happen until January! Ned's, you officially lost my business!

After spotty service for years with Ned’s we informed them we were selling our home. They call us for service appointment, we tell them No we have sold the home. Today I get an inspection report and a bill. We contacted them and received “well we did the work” as an answer. Unsatisfactory all along and even worse after leaving them. Watch your back with this service.

SCAM - I have tried to cancel the services and they keep showing up. Very sneaky. If you call to cancel they make you jump through hoops and have a scripted answer for everything as well as put you on hold for extended periods of time. Clearly a ploy to get the caller to give up. Used to be a good company, but under new ownership and awful.

So many things went wrong here, the main thing was that they went to the wrong house and cleaned their dryer vents. Told me they had done mine, but since you don't have to be home to have them done, I didn't know this until they sent me a picture of the home. They tried to explain it as an "honest mistake" and a "flaw of the GPS". What if they were painters, and they had painted the wrong house? Plus the price they were going to charge me ended up creeping up from the original quote. Just an all around bad experience. I don't have faith in this company at all.

Used Ned Stevens for the first time this year. I used to use Gutter Kings, but they seemed to have sold the business or at least the customer list to Ned Stevens. Communication and scheduling was easy enough, but I'm honestly not sure they did much of anything and what little they cleaned out was left in clumps on the lawn. In years past the folks cleaning my gutter produced some bags of the leaf litter they cleaned out. I watched them some and these folks didn't appear to collect anything. Now I have a gutter obviously blocked and overflowing and it is one that has never been problematic in the 20 years I've owned this home. The sales folks just seemed to want to sell me some service contract for this, but I wouldn't deal with them again.

Hired Ned Stevens for window washing. They came during the first week of August. They claim to use a water filtration power-brush system to wash the windows, however the windows did not come clean with their method. The windows were covered in water spots and brush marks. The pollen and dust was not cleaned off. I requested that they come back to re-do. They came back the second week of August. We were not home, but could see from our doorbell camera that they used our hoses and water. Nothing was attached to their truck water filtration system. Needless to say, we returned home to find the same streaky dirty water spots on our windows. Nothing was clean. It looks terrible and they do not appear to know how to clean the windows. Avoid this service, it does not work!

By way of a caveat, I will concede that businesses are very busy and keeping up with scheduling and services has been challenging. With that said I stand by my (1) star rating for my experience with Ned Stevens Gut Cleaning & General Contracting for the following reasons: 1. Called to schedule cleaning and repair. The operator indicated it would be about 3 days and that they would be out that Monday as they did not work on Sat or Sun. Couple of weeks go with numerous follow up calls and was told on last call they were in route. [Friday] but then were a no show however they did show up bright and early that Saturday [which they told me they did not work when I had originally called. Ok, will let that slide as just poor communication. 2. Two gentlemen showed but we had a language barrier so I could not communication the need that repairs were needed on the gutters- I tried to point but it got lost in translation. We had just purchased the home and there was deferred maintenance specifically with gutter being a focus. The crew was here no more than 15 minutes tops. They used my hose to as guy on ground followed guy on roof as he picked up the leaves and then they left. 3. I called the company as they handed me the orange door tag "Your Service is Complete But We Found An Issue. Please call for details". I called as the 2 guys were still loading their ladder and explained I was under the impression that cleaning also included light repair [which was not the case here]. So was anticipating a follow up crew for repairs. The operator said the report indicated the gutters were fine but the roof had mold. RED FLAG: no way was there a report [if one even existed ]since the guys were still packing up. I stopped him and said I am not interested in a roof cleaning but in repairing the gutters. We had ice dams over the winter and we have real issues with the gutters. He then proceeded to tell me my gutters were fine and the ice dam had nothing to do with the gutters. Again, I stopped the conversation and informed him several of my downspouts were not even strapped to the house and high winds have taken them down multiple times. Further there are areas of the gutters that are not pitched correctly do to excessive leaf weight [from years of deferred maintenance] so do not drain and there are sections were the nails were pulled away for the fascia leaving gaps up to .5-1 inch in some areas. Bottom line: Ned Steven missed the marked on the additional work we were looking to do in repairing or replacing our gutters. Trust is a valued commodity more then ever these days - I've no trust in this company. Upside the $25 off first time customers coupon takes the sting out of getting hosed on the cleaning/inspection [pun intended]

I am not a person who likes writing negative reviews. However, I have to share my terrible experience with Ned Stevens in MA. I wish you can read the review before making a decision. First, TIMELINESS: On Jan 6th, 2021 Ned Stevens called me for the gutter cleaning job I inquired at Home Advisor and arranged the service for me. The sales told me that they will come and the clean the gutter as soon as the weather permits. Nobody showed up in two weeks which had very calm weather (no snow or rain or gusts) I called back and was told that the gutter cleaning would be done until late February. I asked for the manager and got a return call from him: Weather permits means , not just the calm weather, it means 38 degree and above. Fortunately, he put me on a date on Jan 22nd which is above 38 degree. This 38 degree criteria is not disclosed by the sales, not shown on their website, not disclosed by the customer service. It is just the manager's hidden policy. Second, PRICE: When the sales contacted me, I gave all the house information she asked: how many stories, the square footage, the year, the address and etc. The sales even checked the satellite image map of the house before giving me the quote of $480 with the first time customer discount. However, on the day when the gutter cleaning team showed up, I got a call from the manager that he can not honor the quote of $480 and had to charge me $700 for the job because my house looks beautiful. Later on he lowed it to $630 after my protest. What a bait and switch! $150 more only because my house looks beautiful? Third, QUALITY: I am attaching a picture I took on the day they finished their job. You can see needle and leaves still in the gutter. They put the leaves in the trash bags and left them on the curbside in a town without curbside trash collection. I am a first time customer of Ned Stevens and will probably be the last time customer too. The only thing they brag about is that their workers have insurance. Ned Stevens may have better service in other states but not in Massachusetts.
