A1 is trying to charge me $175 for the estimate. Not explained prior to providing the estimate. I did not approve a fee for the estimate nor would I have requested on had I known!!

A1 REVIEW SEPT. 22, 2025 ==================== If there were less than a one star, I would use it to explain my disatisfaction and disappointment in this company which put me through utter misery since July 18 to date. I contacted them due to horribly itchy nickle sized welts on half a dozen spots of my body. On July 17, my first A1 appointment did not happen because their employee went to the wrong adress and tried to call me to the WRONG PHONE NUMBER (which A1 gave him in THREE PLACES on the work order. On July 19 the technician showed up and, after looking at the dead bugs and a living tiny spider, told me he thought they were spiders and sprayed for such. I will spare you the details, which have beeen (and continue to be) miserable due to the fact that I had to wait over 2 weeks after the first ineffective and useless spraying, for a second, totally useless spraying. In spite of a Google WARANTY STAMP on their contract, I am told they won't honor it. To date A1 keeps telling me the bites are a dermatological problem, in spite of my consulting my dermatologist , in all 4 times and his giving me steroid shots in the bites, opining that they are bug bites and recently performing a biopsy on one of them. I am at a loss as what to do next for the continuiing several new very itchy lesions daily. I absolutely do not recommend this company for your pest problems.

However, we must respectfully state that, based on multiple inspections and lack of pest evidence, there is no indication of an ongoing pest issue in your unit.<br><br>While we are sympathetic to your situation, we believe we have taken all reasonable steps to investigate and address the matter. At this time, there is no further action we can take, as the issue does not appear to be pest-related.<br><br>We wish you the best moving forward.

I hired A1 Exterminators for a rodent issue in my 3-family home based on a friend’s recommendation. They initially quoted around $500 for traps and equipment, with $125 per follow-up visit every two months — which I agreed to. After only two visits, they stopped coming without notice. When I called to ask why, I was told I didn’t have a signed contract — something they never mentioned upfront — and that’s why the service stopped. They offered to send a technician, which I agreed to, and made sure a tenant would be there to give access. Weeks passed with no follow-up. I had to call multiple times and was repeatedly promised callbacks that never came. Eventually, a technician did an inspection, but the email I received was vague and unclear. When I asked for next steps, I was told I’d need to sign a new contract and pay another $550–$600 (plus $125 per visit) — despite having already paid a similar amount for the same service. To make matters worse, I later received a $152 bill for an estimate, which was never discussed or disclosed in advance. This entire experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and disappointing. Poor communication, inconsistent service, and surprise fees — I would not recommend A1 Exterminators to anyone.

Scheduling was horrible and didn’t give any instructions for timing. I needed to have my cats out of the apartment as well and he changed the estimate from 2 to 4 hours. Horrible service.

This company is actually pretty useless and at one point they dropped a poison cake in my yard and luckily I noticed it before I let my dog out. Recently they came by for service and reported no rat activity on the report. We actually have a huge amount of dirt that was dug for a rat tunnel in our front garden right where one of the bait boxes was and they did not notice it. What a joke.

The service has been awful, In two separate occasions, I had to take a day off for a no show. Appointment scheduling is awful, Unprofessional owner! The second appointment has four individuals working on it and the time got messed up three times. When finally scheduled between 12 and 3, I received a call at 2:45 to ask if my schedule is flexible for 3:30 and no one showed up until 4. I cancelled my service with them and I am receiving an invoice now for a service not performed. Be very careful hiring them.

Save your money. All they do is set traps that don’t work. I was hoping they would patch holes or block entry points, but nope. When I called them back they said they don’t do return visits for condos. Won’t be giving them any money ever again.

We signed-up for exterior service this year in September. For the first time in 7 years, we have rats on our property. Once the rats appeared, A1 was nowhere to be found and their phones go unanswered during business hours on a daily basis. A1 techs are not communicative no matter how many notes I ask the phone agent to put on the account for the tech. I’ve had experiences where I explain things to an agent, the agent is dismissive and annoyed, and then the tech doesn’t even show up at the scheduled time. And, that’s when they answer the phone. Typically it’s 5-6 calls per day to get someone to answer the phone. I do not recommend. Shop around and check with the firms to understand how they handle customer service and follow-up.

I called today regarding an urgent fly infestation looking for same day service. 1st call to customer service ended with a disconnect. The 2nd call went to a general mailbox as no one was available I asked for an immediate call back. I called back a third time hit two for billing and got an immediate live answer. My call was transferred to a female's mailbox who said she would call back right away. This was about 1:15PM. It is now 4PM

Not happy. Couldn't enjoy sitting outside after the sun set despite getting sprayed for mosquitos every month. Have complained twice about the praying not being effective and was JUST informed after 3 months of paying for mosquito spraying that it's a new formula they are using and they are "testing it out" AND that it takes time to build up so maybe next year should be better! Next year?? None of this information was ever relayed to me. Disappointed. Will not be using them again.
