10/10 They were so fast and professional, would highly recommended them to anyone. We had a squirrel in the attic that needed to be removed and they handled the situation well and sealed up the hole so now more squirrels can get in
Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control deserves every bit of this 5-star review and more. I had a wildlife emergency when a starling got trapped in an incredibly hard-to-reach wall between my bathroom and laundry room. I frantically called around and the earliest someone could come out was days away, but once I tried Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control, John was quick to take the issue seriously and promised to get someone out within hours. He was fantastic at communicating and keeping me up-to-date- none of the “we’ll be there sometime in the next two business weeks” nonsense. Even after traveling hundreds of miles that day, he and a team-member made time to show up that afternoon, even though they had been given such little notice. They were calm, professional, and ready to help. Their level of expertise was immediately clear, and they showed the utmost amount of respect and care for my home. We couldn’t hear the bird when they got there, and suspected it happened to find its way out (or taken up a quieter hobby) so John took the time to show me all the woodpecker holes the birds had come in through and make a plan to have someone come address them in the morning, installing a one-way door in the meantime. He explained everything he was doing and why, and on top of that, gave me incredibly useful advice for the near future and referrals for siding work. It was clear they weren’t out to upsell or overcharge me—in fact, they could have easily charged for placing vents or installing woodpecker deterrents, but instead, he offered practical and honest guidance. And then—plot twist—as they were pulling away, I suddenly heard scratching from inside the wall again. The bird was still in there. I flagged them down like a madwoman, and without hesitation, John jumped back into action. He worked in the tightest, most awkward space, and triumphantly emerged holding a very ticked-off starling, releasing it into the woods. They showed real compassion and care for the animal. John followed up the next morning when his colleague Clay arrived as planned, right on time. Overnight, I heard MORE scratching, and it turned out that though there was one bird in the hand, there was yet another in the wall. Clay not only fished this final starling out but took the time to patch extra woodpecker holes he had found while working. They didn’t just solve the immediate issue—they followed up with thoughtful attention to detail. I also want to highlight something that really mattered to me: as a woman, I’ve often found that working with contractors can be frustrating—it's not uncommon to be dismissed, talked down to, or upcharged under the assumption that I don’t know any better. There's also the discomfort of having unfamiliar men in your home—something many professionals don’t even think about. That’s why I was so impressed with the team from Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control. All three men I interacted with were respectful, made eye contact, listened to what I had to say, and—most importantly—treated me like a capable adult. Their professionalism and courtesy stood out in the best way. This is the kind of integrity that’s rare to find. I truly can’t recommend Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control enough!
We had a bird stuck in the dryer vent which was first removed. John was proactive and honest with helping us with this issue - he put a metal guard on the vent to close it. John was quick and got the job done!
I have had MidAtlantic Wildlife Control come out twice to deal with racoons in my attic. Last year they installed one way cages on 2 broken-into vents out of the 3 in my attic. They had recommended installing a 3rd cage on the 3rd vent that hadn't been broken into, but I unwisely said no. They came out this year to install the 3rd cage on my now broken-into 3rd vent. They have been great both times they came out. John is very honest and will suggest only what is needed to fix the problem, which I found to be rare among many wildlife/pest control companies I have called. His prices are very reasonable as well.
I love working with this company and will call with all my future needs, that I hopefully won't have! They were prompt in scheduling my inspection and quickly saw the evidence of the bats in my attic. They were able to remove the bats and repair their entry point to my home with ease. They even cleaned up the bat guano and saved me the trouble! From my first call to the scheduler, to my experience with the technician, they were pleasant to deal with and you could tell they really love what they do and helping people solve problems. The technician was on time and very courteous. I hope to never need their services again, but if I do, I know who I'm calling!
John and the rest of the Mid-Atlantic employees did an amazing job sealing up our front porch with concrete after a ground hog started making a den underneath. They promptly addressed any concerns we had and performed the work we wanted to prevent further animal incursions. I would definitely use them again, if needed.
Although I did not end up using their service, I much appreciated John’s candid advice when I called to seek help with a squirrel-in-chimney issue in my home. He listened patiently to the problem, and suggested me to go to a chimney company as the best solution. I appreciate the fact that he did not try to push business on me, but professionally provided advice that was, in fact, the best way to go. If I were to have wildlife control needs in the future, I will 100% go through this company.
I spoke to John a couple months ago and he told me to email him the job information. I have called and left multiple messages with no response in regards to 2 separate jobs. The owner of the property (my client) also called, and when he answered he said he would call back about scheduling. She also has tried to call and left messages with no response.
Thank you for a great job removing the Squirrel from our home on Christmas eve. I was so glad that you came out that night before My family showed up for our party. The technician who came to my home was so polite and respectful we will always call on your services if we need them again. I would highly recommend this company's services for any pest control problem you have
Mid Atlantic Wildlife is awesome!. I called them for raccoons in my attic and John was so helpful. His crew came out within two days. Any questions I had they answered with no problem. Raccoon problems please call them. Thanks again guys !!!
I can't say enough good thing's about Mid Atlantic Wildlife and the crew that came to my home. I have had flying squirrels in my attic for years and several pest control companies have tried to remove them unsuccessfully. I spoke to John the owner who sent out a technician named Joe to inspect my attic. Joe found I had flying squirrels in my attic that had been entering thru a loose piece of wood behind my gutters. I was so happy that it was a easy fix and it allowed me to have my attic insulation replaced at the same time. Mid Atlantic Wildlife removed all my insulation and installed new insulation for half of what the pest control company asked for. I just wanted to say thank you for a great job and I would recommend you to anyone who asks for critter removal in Bethesda.
John handled my call quickly, however, the situation was handled horribly. The tech came out to remove birds from our second story vent because they were causing bird mites to enter our bedroom. He used a stick with nails on it to pull the nesting out of the vent; they charge a fee for the techs to "set up" their very fancy equipment. There are still birds in the vent, no surprise there, and after calling a separate company, we find they are even harder to remove now that the nest is gone because they retreat further into the vent. After wasting $335 dollars and getting zero relief, we now have to call, and PAY, another company who tells us this is typical of MidAtlantic and knew it was them before I even told him the name of the company. Needless to say we are not happy and we still have birds and bird mites. The photos are of the amount of nesting and a dead bird that the other company pulled out this morning so, as you can see, MidAtlantic didn't do anything at all.
Very disappointed by Mid-Atlantic Wildlife Control. Last week, I had called John to schedule a bird removal. John informed me that a tech would be out between 4:00pm and 6:00pm. John gave me a call today (day of the appointment) to confirm that I still wanted his services to remove birds from my vent. I confirmed "yes," and he told me that Matt would be by my house at 4:30pm. I waited until 5:30pm because I figured that the window of time was still in effect, despite having been told that Matt would be here at 4:30pm. I gave John a call at 5:30pm and left a voicemail. 6:00pm came around and still no technician. I called John 2 more times and texted, still no response. Interestingly, John has been very responsive prior. Because I thought Mid-Atlantic will still coming out, I stayed in the house when I had other errands that I could have run. In addition, I had waited all weekend for this appointment to come to remove the birds and clean my vent. The time that I spent waiting, I could have called and scheduled another company to do the job. I am very disappointed at the poor customer service in the sense that they had a lack of courtesy to call me and tell me that they would not be able to come out and reschedule--that is the least that you could have done. I am glad that I did not spend $250.00 here for this type of service. Please manage your schedule better and possibly look into hiring a main service dispatch agent (if you do not have one already) to intake customer calls, schedule appointments, and manage your technicians' schedules. Update-5/16 to review: John gave me a call several times the next day to apologize and inform me of an incident that had occurred with his tech. I have increased my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. However, I have already scheduled with another provider.
I had a different wildlife control company come out to get rid of the squirrels in my attic and they butchered my roof and the squirrels kept getting in. The company installed a piece of chicken wire behind my gutter causing water damage to the interior ceiling and wall. Even tho the squirrels chewed in that area to begin with the guy cut the shingles on the edge of the roof which allowed the rain in. So I called John at Mid Atlantic Wildlife Control. He is VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE and had a carpenter that is also a wildlife control professional at my house that day. He was able to get the squirrels out and repair my roof so that it looked like nothing ever happened. These guys know what they are doing. Please don't make the same mistake I did and waist money on a company that does not know anything about squirrels or repairing a roof properly. I would give Mid Atlantic Wildlife Control 10 stars.
