APL treated our lawn for 10+ years and we always received top notch service. We have received a number of compliments on our lawn due to the service given by APL.

The owner was knowledgeable but he didn't do the work. He sent others who didn't do what he said they were doing and after a short time i cancelled service. Then for the past year he is still sending me invoices despite having not performed the service. i have cameras. Then i asked him to stop and he said his server sends the email to deadbeat customers. Pretty cool guy...LOL!

I've used several brand name companies, but APL is the only one who has delivered the goods. On time, advance notice, good communication, and best of all my lawn is free of weeds, bugs and greened up.

I use APL Pest Control for my lawn fertilizer company. They are the only fertilizer company that was able to get dollar weed by my sea wall under control. My lawn has never looked so good. I only wish all my neighbors used them also! :)

Great company and great service! They turned my yard around after just one treatment and it has gotten better and better since. Always willing to explain everything in a way that makes sense.

APL gave my lawn a new life...trusted and friendly service providers (which is important if you are going to have someone walking around with your gate code to yard)...Rick's "no marketing marketing" sold me.

Owner is not professional and does not take ownership. He blames it on his customers. I complained to him about a potential chinch big issue and the owner himself would not come out to take a look himself. He relied on his techs to report back to him. He blamed my grass having issues with dry soil and it being mowed to short. We have lived here for a decade and never have had issues with our lawn like this and have cared for our lawn the same way since we moved in. I have a close friend in the lawn spraying business who did check it for me and said it was chinch bugs. He physically pulled and showed me 6 chinch bugs in a tinny area. When I questioned him on what products he is using, he reported the name to me. Upon my research it is a lower grade chemical and that has to be applied every 14 days for active chinch bugs. The same chemical he uses for the chinch bugs have been proven to cause chinch bugs resistances as well. He is using cheap products and his techs are not educated. My soil is moist and rich. Owner just wants an easy dollar and doesn’t want to take ownership or pride in his work. My lawn hasn’t never looked this bad in 10 years. If you want quality products and customer service for the price you are paying, go else where.

Service became very brief and unthorough.

Had the service for 4 treatments from 2/18 to 8/18. Good communication and notice of service. Informative website and ease of payment. The first two treatments went well and we definitely saw improvement in the lawn albeit the dollar weed and nut grass came back between services. Trouble began when the technician sprayed the house and driveway on the June service leaving awful looking brown splash marks. We wrote to Rick and his reply is below. >>Our product can cause a rust colored stain but is often unnoticed on outdoor surfaces due to algae and other organic growths that grow on outdoor surfaces. Sometimes a little drift can get on painted surfaces adjacent to lawns. Solution: It is not good to have turf growing next to painted surfaces. Power equipment will cause damage to the paint/stucco finish. It is best to have mulched planted beds or even shell at least 12” from the foundation. The foundation extends out 6 – 12 from the wall and will make growing grass in that area difficult. To remove the rust colored stain use a product by Goof Off call Rust Remover found in Home Depot or Lowes. Just spray it on and walk away – it changes the chemical makeup to remove the color. In addition we will keep our spray 12 – 18” away from painted surface Hope that helps>> We bought the Goof Off and it removed the splash marks from the exterior of the house without damage but left the driveway with lightened blotchy areas. Prior to Aug, service, I wrote to Rick and asked that he ensure that the spray not get on the house an driveway. He responded "Will do" but we came home to more nasty brown spray on the house exterior and driveway. Below is the e-mail exchange after that service. >>We found more over-spray on the house and driveway after the service this week. Part of the driveway looks like the spray was literally spilled in one area. Our painted driveway is now ruined with blotches all over it from where we tried to get the spray off last time because the solvent lightened the paint and now brown in areas from more over-spray and spill. We are very unhappy.<< >>I’ll send a tech by to treat the stains this week. The product we use to remove the stain is not a solvent and does not impact finishes (paint and stains).It is obvious that our mix design is not compatible with your vision of the outdoors, so I am cancelling your service. You may want to try one of our competitors who don’t use iron in the mix – I believe Marshall’s and ETM use no iron. Sorry for any inconvenience.<< Our vision of the outdoors does not include ruined painted surfaces. How is that even considered an unreasonable expectation? Considerate of Rick to save us the trouble of cancelling. It was going to happen anyway. Potential customers may want to review the photos of our house and driveway before deciding to use this service. ****AS TO THE OWNER'S RESPONSE *** The house paint has nothing to do with the over-spray and you know it, Rick. Your response is completely fabricated BS and you wrote your response to try and save yourself from a bad review. The paint on the home is an excellent quality, there was NO previous staining on the walls at all prior to the over-spray. Your response is a lie. The fact is that you were sloppy and could not keep the spray off of the walls and the driveway. When you were called out about it, an attempt to remove the stains from the driveway caused the driveway paint to be ruined. We now have a quality lawn service (T-r-o-p-i-c-a-r-e). They do use do care not to get spray on the house and driveway. We're quite happy with them.

good communication. good web interface. That's about where it stops. We complained about the weeds in our back yard which was replaced at the same time with the same pallets by the same company 6 months prior. Even though we were paying to have the back lawn sprayed, we don't feel the service was provided to the back lawn like it should have. When we talked to him about it... he said that we could pay for more services but they would not retreat the lawn even though we are already paying a premium for the service. Buy more of nothing... He suggested that "we go with one of his competitors" . Alrighty then... moving on.

Our yard was in fair shape at best when we switched over to APL Lawn Spraying. Rick and his crew has brought our lawn to grade A+ condition. Rick has offered his knowledge to help maintain our lawn. I highly recommend this company! Great job guys!

Spraying for bugs, disease and weeds about every other month. Knowledgeable owner who takes the time and effort to educate his customers about how to properly care for their grass.

Good informational articles. No improvement to lawn during service period (roughly 10 months), some areas actually worsened to include me having to replace multiple areas after spraying. Condescending owner, which ultimately is the reason I have cancelled this service. Three stars is only because you, as a company were not bad, but I saw zero improvement. Constructive criticism. Take it for what it's worth. Don't talk down to your customers and you might just keep more.
