Evergreen Lawn & Pest Control

I’m a resident of Saratoga Pointe, where this company provides landscaping services for our community. Over the past several months the service has been inconsistent, with leaves sometimes building up for weeks before maintenance occurs. I did notice the crew working on our street today, which is appreciated. My concern has mostly been the irregular timing of service and the difficulty reaching someone when residents try to call. I have notified our HOA. After leaving a message earlier with Evergreen, I did receive a call back. I was hoping the conversation would focus on understanding the concern and improving communication, but it felt dismissive. A little more responsiveness and care when speaking with residents would go a long way. Landscaping plays an important role in a neighborhood, and consistency and communication matter to residents who care about their community. I hope service becomes better going forward. I just hired this company, but I need to mention the one reason I did was because of Mike. Not saying the company isn't worth hiring, but I'm saying that Mike made an impression on me. I had Trugreen for near a year and I didn't have a good experience. They don't seem to care very much. Mike came to give me a quote and discuss my needs, and he is an expert in his field. I love seeing people love what they do, because you don't see it much anymore. He was kind, very educated and prompt. I have a lot that needs to be handled in my yard, and I look forward to seeing the outcome! Thanks Evergreen and Mike :) 5 stars

Vincent has been coming to do my pest/lawn control for the past couple of months and he has been amazing. He takes the time to explain what should be done to upkeep the lawn and also spends a good amount of time doing the hands on care of the lawn. Definitely a star employee!

Racso treats the outside and inside of our home for pest control and is always outstanding. Mike Berger handles the outside lawn and yard care- Mike is always quick to answer any question I have and he’s very knowledgeable.

I recently had a pest problem at my home, and I have to say, Jeffery from Evergreen Pest Control was absolutely outstanding! He came out really promptly, was super professional, and clearly knew his stuff about what was bugging me. He didn't just rush in; Jeffery took his time to really check out the whole place and then patiently explained exactly what he was going to do to fix it, answering all my questions. Honestly, since he did his thing, I've seen a huge difference – way fewer pests! I'm really happy with how everything turned out and would totally recommend Jeffery and Evergreen Pest Control if you need someone reliable.

I have gone to Service Choice for years for my lawn care. Vernon would always review the service and advise me on up to date requirements. A year ago another man showed up . He has never spent more than 10 minutes spraying my lawn and he spoke to me or advised me. My lawn is overgrown with weeds and brown spots due to grub worms. I learned recently that Evergreen Lawn and Pest Control has taken over for Service Choice. This change coincided with the change in my lawn from green to brown. I do not recommend Evergreen. Will be trying another company.

This company caused thousands of dollars in damage to my lawn because of its failure to identify and treat chinch bugs. On top of destroying my lawn, the way Evergreen treats their customers is unethical and disgusting. I have used this company for several years (when it was originally Service Choice), and honestly it’s been a downhill spiral when Evergreen purchased Service Choice. They literally destroyed my lawn by failing to identify the infestation until it was too late. When I complained, the manager promised to visit my house to inspect the lawn and address the issue. But he no showed on me. I called back and said I wouldn’t pay the most recent bill until the manager spoke to me to resolve this issue. They promised the manager would call but he never did. Then I called again and they said the would hold off on my bill until it was resolved. That was a lie: they sent it to a debt collector without the manager ever contacting me. They even are claiming I owe 100% more than the routine service fee they charge which is unethical and disgusting and I really question if this is even legal. In late summer of 2024, I noticed small patches of dying grass in my lawn. I figured there must have been pests or fungus causing the destruction. I called Evergreen to report the issue, and they sent a tech to my house. The tech examined the lawn and spoke with my husband. He told my husband that there were no pests or fungus, and blamed the landscaper for cutting the grass with dull blades. Over the following weeks, more grass continued to die. Evergreen then sent a different tech who inspected the lawn. This new tech told me that I had a serious chinch bug infestation which had caused the dead grass, and that he needed to spray to kill the chinch bugs. See attached text chain. Of course, had the original tech correctly diagnosed the problem at the outset and sprayed at that time, my lawn would have been saved. The end result is that I suffered several thousand dollars of damage to my lawn due to Evergreen’s incompetence.

Unfortunately I have had to terminate my service with this company. After either switching/selling from ‘Service Choice’ my lawn and trees have deteriorated significantly in only a short span of 6 months or so. The customer service is very poor. Their technician left a note saying that my lawn has “uncontrollable weeds”, yet I am paying them to come and control the weeds. The office said the technician would call me to discuss, but that never happened. My palm trees have also developed a sooty mold, which was well controlled before. Don’t waste your money. Do it yourself or find someone who actually does what they say they will.

Evergreen formerly known at Service choice is horrible…. I WAS a long time standing client. I originally started with them for whitefly in my ficus. Everything was good for quite some time. Then I started noticing about 2 years ago that even though they were treating my ficus I was still always infested. I would have the tech return and it became a problem. I later found out the tech wasn’t mixing chemicals incorrectly and I was basically paying for water. So they sent out another tech, and he was then fired. Zae came out when he got word of the repeated issues I was having and he did his best to rectify the situation and even gave me a credit. But the issues continued and but by then 3 tech had been let go. All while Evergreen was taking over. Fast forward to Iate 2023 early 2024 I picked up a lawn plan with them in hopes that treating the ornamentals would help with the whitefly and help continue the progress I had made on my lawn. I was wrong. My ficus were still infested with whitefly andi still getting the run around Late June early July my grass started to turn brown. I made several attempts to get this rectified but I was met with more excuses. One tech says it’s fungal, which I pay them to treat, one tech says it’s insect which I also pay them to treat. They would say someone was coming out and never show, sometimes this would go one for several weeks. It got to the point where I was paying for the excuses and I warned Evergreen that I was going to cancel my service if they didn’t fix the problems. Needless to say I cancel. My ficus are almost non existent right now, my grass is brown and full of bugs and my ornamentals are now also infested with whitefly. EVERGREEN IS A HORRIBLE, MONEY HUNGRY COMPANY, THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANYTHING BUT MONEY!! I included pictures of my lawn in the beginning of June 2024 and what it looks like now, and included my non existent ficus and the whitefly eggs, fungus and eggs

This company, since buying Service Choice from the original owner with whom I originally contracted, is at best incompetent, and at worse, in my opinion, disreputable and should not be retained if you don't want your lawn to die. I own 3 homes and wasn't paying attention to the condition of our lawn at our Fort Lauderdale house. But my neighbors pointed out that the lawn is in poor health. I called Evergreen this morning and learned that WITHOUT EVER TELLING ME, they simply discontinued service at the beginning of 2024. Had I know I could have arranged service elsewhere. But as I said I was NEVER INFORMED, and as a result my lawn has suffered. Horrible company I recommend everyone steer clear of them.

Service Choice always had problems, not sure why I stay except former owner would come out to rectify. New owners don't follow up as promised. My yard is the worst on the street and I'm told now I have chinch bugs 1/2024. Their folks sprayed twice for other issues, once by their "best guy" who obviously did not rectify. UPDATE 10/13/2024`-: After almost 9 month these people who used to be Service Choice with horrible reviews, now Evergreen, came to my house and sprayed without authorization. I had just put weed and feed on the lawn. Where they sprayed the grass turned brown. I will be contacting them to replace those areas immediately Everygreen/formerly Service Choice just can't get their act together so don't be fooled. Mike is the only tech that knows what he is doing. See the last 3 pics below.

I was previously a customer of Service Choice. Once Evergreen took over it was all downhill. The last straw was when I was billed for a service where the technician did not show up on my Ring camera. When I asked for a copy of the service invoice it was not for weed control as I had previously been receiving. I emailed them several times and not once did a manager contact me. Horrible company.

As a previous customer of Service Choice when they got acquired I gave Evergreen Lawn and Pest Control a chance. That chance is over, I am completely disappointed in the lack of customer service, professionalism, and communication by Evergreen. I have more weeds in my lawn now than I ever have before. When I called to get a tech out to look at the lawn they said it would be 2 days before someone could be here. I finally get a call from a tech late in the afternoon on day 2 saying they would be at my house in 30 mins. 10 mins after that I get a call canceling the appointment due to “rain” that never occurred. Usually, I’m not home when the lawn service is done and I accept this excuse but I was this time and the lie I was told about rain and canceling the appointment is unacceptable. I’ll be cancelling Monday.

I've had Service Choice for years but then they were recently bought out by Evergreen. Evergreen has very incompetent technicians!!!!! I have 180 foot of Japanese blueberry wall at my property which were FULL of white flies and the tec never sprayed for the white flies and told me he did not do it because "it is a fruiting tree". If he knew what he was doing and knew the plant types, he would've known that Japanese blueberries are NOT a fruiting tree. So I am not sure how they can provide ANY services when they don't even know the most basic plant type!!!! Worse ever!!!! Had some other issues with them as well. you will be just wasting your money with them. And when I called to try to speak to a manager, I was told it is not possible and perhaps they can have a manager call me back in 48 hours! I moved my account to another local company. Not going to deal with a company that I cannot get a hold of its management or technicians!

I had Service Choice for years. No problems. Evergreen takes over. They treated my yard in January 2024. They usually leave an invoice on the door and there wasn't one I didn't know they had treated the lawn. The next treatment was March 26th 2024. Received an invoice for that. That invoice did not indicate any past due balance. I went online to pay the bill and found that there was a previous balance that had not been paid. So I paid it all I pay all my bills. The next thing I know I get a letter in the mail from my collection agency in California demanding payment for them. They didn't even bother to try and ask for the money from January they just sent right to collections I have never been sent a collections in my life by any creditor. Why would you send a collections? I called to cancel their service was on hold for 45 minutes waiting for a team member to answer the phone only to be told that she's the only person there. So I guess in their opinion a team is one. I told them I wanted my money refund because I paid them with this collection agency is demanding. The collection agency is also demanding the payment for the treatment in March which is one month old. This is ridiculous what kind of company is run like this? Do yourself a favor do not contract them to do your lawn.
