The team at Tracy Acree construction are second to none! Mr. Acree and Gavin work hard to ensure that their customers are well taken care of and feel comfortable and safe in their new home. I applaud them for their constant availability, they are never more than a quick phone call away!
Unprecedented quality in my custom build. Tracy is a builder you can trust because he has proven time and time again through the years he is the definition of top notch. Just look around Fort Walton and you will see evidence of Tracy at every corner. Been in my home for three years and everything is still perfection. The attention to detail and customization Tracy offers is what makes my house a home. My beautiful table top, chair height bar, my gorgeous custom fireplace, personalized TV alcove, and appliance upgrades make my home a place everyone compliments. I am so glad I chose an Acree home.
Being in the military, I have bought multiple homes sight unseen. This company, by far, made me feel at ease the most at ease during the process. My realtor was adamant that this builder built an excellent home for a great price, and having lived in the house for seven months now, I can’t attest to that. All repairs, though minor, were fixed promptly, and Gavin has made sure I am taken care of and offers to help in any way.
Initially, I bought a spec home from Tracy and his wife and hired them to build my custom home, which has just been completed. I am speechless; the house and service I received were everything I had ever dreamed of. Tracy and Gavin talked me through every stage and helped me make decisions. There were some things I originally wanted that I was informed weren’t practical or functional, and I am happy I listened, for we ended up with a far better house and plan. What I love the most is how well the builders managed to keep me on budget so that they could prioritize what was most desirable for me, like my beautiful front door and BRIGHT bathroom lighting. Thanks again Tracy, Gavin, and Johnnette for building my dream home!
Where do I even start. Bought the house going on a year now. All issues you’re about to read were within warrenty or within the year. Let me start with Mr. Acree's wife. When you're in someone's house and they are telling the issues let them talk. I know you're a busy lady but damn, take a breath and listen. First, before moving in the microwave was supposed to be replaced because the installer dented it. It still hasn't been. Every time I call it's on order even though they've called three times saying it was available and they'd be by on whatever date but they never showed. I call and it again is on back order. 12 months now and still on back order... Second, garage door to the house doesn't close and latch shut. Coding violation. And you're talking to someone with an Architectural background. Mentioned multiple times. Still not fixed. Third the grout in the kitchen was "fixed" three different times and still not done right. Forth, the flooring in the M Bath is still not fixed after having five people come by to look at it. The people were the boss, the boss lady and the workers. Every time they look at it they had to order the floor and wait for it to come in. Still waiting... I guess I'll replace it and bill them. Fifth. Took them months to come out and fix a leak that caused a waterfall from the second floor because their plumber guy is not qualified to do any plumbing. They finally came and fixed the garage and kitchen issues, but completely forgot to fix the front foyer after sending multiple pictures and them coming by to look at it. Still not fixed. Sixth. Found out by the city they were signed off and approved to build in an area where unknown to us that there was a pond and flooding issue in the back. Almost a year later the water is up by our foundation every time it rains. Grading was done incorrectly and fence was put in to block view of the water issue. They informed us the area beyond thr fence was not ours. Come to find out it is our land. Our yard is bigger than we thought. That's good you'd think but it's under water now... These are the only issues I can think of. Built cheaply. I do not recommend them in any way. They see you as a dollar sign that is it. They will dodge your calls and not show up when they set up an appointment. Out of all our issues only a few things were fixed but those weren't even major. To the owner, if you're reading this you know who this is and where I live and how to make this better. Do better! Still waiting.....
Greedy people who care NOTHING for the environment. They clear cut, then put up ridiculously expensive houses, and claim they are affordable homes.
Best company in town
Tracy Acree built my house several years ago. This is my fourth house I’ve had built. They’ve all been by different area builders. If I ever have another house, townhouse, etc. built again, I’ll definitely have Tracy building it. Everything about it was solid. I was told up front what was going to go in it so there were some things I put a little more money into to upgrade it. I never regretted an extra penny. It was all worth it. He even let me design my own floor plan. He didn’t nickel and dime me to death like some had done before. I appreciated that I was told exactly how it was without the sugarcoating because then I understood it better. He tried to keep the best workers he could so the job would be better. There was only one glitch with my house that involved the dryer vent filling with water. Long story short, I had basically just accepted it after two years of his foreman trying to figure out how to fix it. Sixteen years later and a lot of bad weather occurring, I was tired of using the shop vac to vacuum out the line before using my dryer at those times. I called Tracy again and he had thought it had been fixed years ago. When he found out it hadn’t been, he got someone to my house ASAP to reroute the dryer line to eliminate my problem entirely. Of course, he fixed it after sixteen plus years because he had known it wasn’t right from the beginning and that I wasn’t pulling a fast one. But he made good on what he built even after all that time because he knew right after it was built that we had the problem. He had just thought it had been taken care of. I don’t know of any other builder that would do anything like that! Everyone that works with him and for him has always been very kind and professional to me. I think it’s a shame that the people that are displeased will take the time to write complaints but those of us that are very happy with products mostly keep our five star ratings to ourselves. I just wanted to say that I have loved my modest home since buying it in 2002. I’m hoping and praying that when it’s time for me to downsize a bit when my kids finally move out, that there’s somewhere available that I can have Tracy Acree build a small home or patio home/townhouse for me.
In an effort to offer at least one positive comment, I can understand his wife being rude; if I had to try to make excuses for Mr. Acree all the time I would probably be more than 'rude'. My first encounter with Mr. Acree ( Acree Construction) was back in 2011 when I bought a house from him. His first words to me were that he would NOT come down on the price at all... NOT one nickel ! Rather that he would upgrade or change things to suet me. [ Keep the price up to stick it to the next guy also! ] As time went by and problems were identified more were met with excuses than with fixes. My hardwood floor was replaced twice, that makes three floors. One was because the kitchen sink fell from it's mounting. Another thing that I learned was that the carpet padding and carpet used / installed was in fact the lowest quality allowed in the industry standard. This seemed to be the standard throughout the "Custom Built" home. Mr. Acree's response was that " it is contractor grade". Please beware of "contractor grade". My guess is that 'contractor grade' on a 'report card' is probably something akin to a D- . You would not believe the stories about my freezer and why it didn't work and the things done in an effort to not buy a new one prior to closing. Be careful !!!!!!
Roof is leaking after purchase 4 years ago. The lady who answers the phone is possibly the rudest person I’ve ever talked too. After several weeks I got a call back and he was not willing to come look and said the roof is only garentteed for a year. This is the second leak I’ve had first was from a pipe that had a hair line fracture that occurred most probably during construction and slowly leaked. Had to replace two doors, carpet and dry wall. The kitchen has chip board siding that is all pealing off and exposing. The house looks nice when first purchasing but it’s made cheaply !
