Good morning, we sent an email to everyone on the day the applications were to be applied informing them to keep all pets inside. If pet was outside, then my crews are instructed to stop the service and reschedule. We always leave a flag as well.

I was charged for services that were not completed. When trying to call the company, and selecting billing, etc (only option other then new service), it goes to voicemail and there is no response after 2 days. When calling and selecting new service, a person answers but cannot help, only sends message to owner, still no response. Buyer Beware Update: After posting this review and emailing every email address I could find for Best Yards, I did get a response and a refund. However, there are plenty of yard care providers to choose from that provide great service along with great communication and great invoicing along with billing. For Best Yards, communication needs a lot of work and invoicing is non- existent.

I was a customer for about 4 years. This company's owner has impeccable integrity. I eventually had to part ways because they were unable to provide a quote that excluded herbicides in the rock beds, where I grow food, even if they were to pad the margin for one of the other services that I did want with the lost herbicide margin in their quote. As long as you are OK with their required list of bundled services, this company is great. I believe the weekly mowing requires weed control and fertilization, and they are quite firm about the bundling.

Good morning Mr. Macafee. Thank you for your honest review. I do not see your name in our system. Are you a customer? We have a strict no drug policy and I know my teams don't smoke marijuana. I've done a deep dive into our system and can't find your name as a customer that we service. If you are a client that is in our system under another name (wife, etc), please email us so we can do some research on the crew members you are referring to. Because I don't see you in our system, I can't look at the routes or neighborhood that you live in. <br>As for communication, I personally send out all communications as to when we are going to arrive on someone's property for a scheduled service. Our mowing customers are informed and aware of the schedule we have weekly for our mowing routes. If anything, I over communicate as my customer service experience over 40 years as taught me. <br> As for rescheduling services, that does occur when you have weather delays, employee illnesses or other personal or professional issues that arises. <br>We service 1000's of customers and schedule our routes and services by neighborhoods so we can service as many clients daily as we can. <br>We haven't raised our prices in 2 years and our rates our based off of us knowing our costs to run our business correctly to continue to serve our clients for another 20 years.<br>Chris

An odd experience. I submitted the contract and credit card payment info a week ago. Office Manager told me to leave a voicemail with my cc info. I said I wasn't comfortable with that, then I submitted my cc info online again. Her response was that she'd call me in a few minutes and to "please answer." I asked if she could talk 45 mins later and she wasn't available and again told me to leave a voicemail. She also she'd send me "an appointment time" twice. Come on, lady. Ya'll need to work on your customer service skills. Put on a friendly face and don't boss customers around.

This company does not facilitate pre-scheduled lawn aeration services. You're at their whim for whenever it fits into THEIR schedule to perform the service. They claim that they will contact you the day prior via text. So, if you want to be present when they're in your yard / around your home... clear your schedule 1-2 months in advance and wait around for them to contact you. I scheduled service a month ago and have been told it could be any time in the next 4 weeks... potentially 8 weeks from when I scheduled the aeration. I'm going with a company that has more personalized service.

Lawn has never looked so poorly. Was told it would take awhile for the natural fertilizer to work. Even with all the moisture this summer my grass has never looked so poorly. Techs spend little time applying product too. Probably like all businesses, lack of employees needed to do a good job.

This company is a rip off. Will check prior companies used. Or find a reputable company. Never had issues with other companies except price. Thought I would try Best Yard (what a joke). Stay away from them. Complained and they always gave excuses. Whether a dry year or wet year no change. Buyer beware! False reviews.

The owner and crew literally came to our street's rescue across town in Highlands Ranch after the tornado. They brought trucks and helped haul away a significant amount of trees and branches for basically cost. I can't thank them enough. Friendly, efficient, cleaned up perfectly. They went over and above.

To whom it may concern. That isn't a fair assessment. We follow all procedures when turning on an irrigation system. If I had to guess on who this post is from, I personally emailed and detailed description of our service, findings and further details of concern after we left the property that was done by another company. We stand behind our workmanship and ethics and are not in the business of damaging properties. I am sorry that you feel we did something incorrectly.

I contacted BestYard to get an estimate for ongoing routine lawn care maintenance + help with a lawn restoration project. Last year the city road guys came in and repoured a segment of curb and did a lot of damage to my lawn in the process (huge holes, lots of cement left in my soil). In addition, that segment of lawn would need more intense help because it already had a lot of weeds + patches of dead grass. When I tried to contact them, they were very happy to send me back an invoice and get me to give them my credit card info to bill me, but told me it would be $120 to come give me an estimate for the project. Never heard of a business charging for an estimate before but needless to say they must care about that $120 more than acquiring a new customer. When I asked about this, they stopped responding. I guess if you don't immediately give them their credit card info, they don't care about you at all. EDIT: The owner has asked me to edit my review because it doesn't reflect their business practices. When they offer to come by and give me an estimate that doesn't cost $120 I will edit my review.

We have a trip fee for sprinkler inspection which allows you time for our sprinkler technician to evaluate your system. We secure a credit card on file but do not run it unless work is performed. Our regular landscaper was unavailable, so I thought I'd give Best Yard a try for a ONE-TIME service because it was close by. They did a so-so job of aerating, but after the work, they placed us on a scheduled rotation against our knowledge or consent. Their one saving grace is that they texted me the day before they would arrive, so I was able to cancel before I incurred a charge I did not consent to, and they told me that they cancelled the rotation schedule. That was last October. Now, it is July, and I get another text today telling me they're coming by tomorrow. That makes two times they have scheduled a service without my consent. I guess they didn't actually take us off the rotation despite an adamant phone call. The kicker is that we sold that house in May and I doubt the new owners would have appreciated strangers on their lawn.

Don't use this company. Their arrogant attitude puts themselves first instead of making scheduling easier for the customer. Melissa in the office is super slow in responding. You will wait up to a week to have your phone call or email answered...and up to a month for the actual service to be done. If they are that busy they need to hire more crew. Twice, I tried to meet with their "design" person Ashley - but she was also extremely slow to respond. Once I had to reschedule a large bid due to a family emergency and she didn't call me back for four days. Inexcusable! As the author of six books on the Customer Experience (see Amazon) I know these kinds of companies eventually evaporate while their urgent-minded competition flourishes. I used Rocky Mountain last year and was pleased initially ... but when they merged with Best Yard/Weed Man this year, the service has been awful. Yard wasn't mowed on a regular basis, and after repeated calls, I was never given a definite date of when they could mow the grass. (My grass has never looked this bad.) However, they managed to deduct payments from my account promptly. Would not recommend. Others in my subdivision have had similar experiences. It is hard to find good, dependable help these days. Sad. The receptionist though is very nice. They need to clone her but she can't fix poor operations. They use the excuse of "weather" and "holidays" but they are just understaffed and in my opinion have taken on too much, too soon. My next door neighbor has a lawn service and they have managed to cut his grass every week and on time. I will be calling them.

I appreciate your review, however we can't control the weather. The whole month of May we had weather every week which postpones operations. We would rather not damage your property than mow in the rain. I would bet that your neighbors company is much smaller and doesn't have the demand we have incurred. Not only did spring get a late start, had weather delays but we also have tried our hardest to support you and our customer in a horrible labor force economy. We have just been able to get our college and high school help to where we can finish our work. If you drive around the whole city all companies are struggling to hire good help, it's not just a lawn care issue. I hope you have good luck with your new company, sorry for making a bad first impression.

Extremely disappointed with the service we have received from Best Yard. We chose to hire them based on reading all of the great reviews online. First issue we had was trying to get ahold of anyone to signup. They have on their website that they will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your request. This is a lie. It took me two weeks and leaving several messages to finally speak to someone, and it was only because they answered when I called back. We decided to prepay for the whole year of services and wanted to go all in (aeration, fertilizer, mowing, weed control, crabgrass prevention). In total, we spent almost $1400 with them. The first week they came to mow they didn't trim and completely skipped our back yard. I had to call to have someone come back out and they still didn't trim around our trees. The next week they skipped even though the weather was fine. I called to ask what was going on and they told me they were still trying to catch up from the snowstorm (two weeks prior). I let it slide and remained optimistic. They mowed on time the next week. The week after that, it rained on the day they were supposed to mow, so I figured they would come the next day as they had told me when we hired them. That unfortunately was not the case. I called again and was given excuses about catching up because of weather. The next week, it was sunny on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, half of Thursday and half of Friday. For some reason they skipped us AGAIN... Because of "catching up from weather". My wife has never cared too much of what our yard has looked liked, but even for her, our yard has never looked worse. I'm not doubting that they know what they are doing, they are just EXTREMELY inconsistent and lack any sort of communication skills. We never know if they will mow or not from week to week. It baffles me that every other review I see is praising them for constant communication. Unfortunately our yard has grown beyond me feeling comfortable waiting another week for them. We paid for their services so we wouldn't have to worry about yard care and could spend more time as a family. Since Best Yard doesn't seem to care about our business, I have had to mow our yard so we don't get fined by our HOA.

You are correct, we haven't done a good job on communication due to the over flow of phones calls we are receiving about services now that the weather has calmed down. I truely apologize for the miscommunication. We are trying to get everyone mowed at least once a week even during the weather delays. Even this past week we had bad thunderstorms that occurred late Thursday that shut down our operations. We strive and work hard for great reviews and customer satisfaction but we can't control the weather. We are trying to squeeze a weeks worth of mowing clients in a 2 to 3 work week.
