Originally, I wrote: We use their monthly service plan and they have been great and preventing issues and then coming out for a special trip if the need arises. Then in 2025, I learned that they had not been in out in many months while still receiving our monthly payment. We are only there in the winter. Going to find a different company for pest control.

Preston is very thorough, attentive, and professional. He's the only one that have been able to keep our most pesty issues at bay. His detailed spraying application eliminated the repetitive occurrences of wasps in our outdoor living area. Before Preston, my family and guests had to fight off all the wasps that had infested the area. Thank you Preston for all that you do.

I requested an inspection for a termite letter, I paid, filled out the paperwork, and had an appointment set for 2 weeks later. Appointment time rolls around, no one shows up, so I call and it turns out the serviceman cancelled my appointment. No one told me. I did get refunded but when I called I was told, by the lady in the office, he had only written "to avoid fraud" in his notes. I have never worked with this company before and I just needed an inspection for my refinance. I have no idea what this is about but considering they wasted my time without informing me of the cancellation, I would recommend you look elsewhere.

I’ve been a customer a mountain here for more than five years for some odd reason my service got canceled. Went to go call the office to set back up my service and a technician came out. Had to re-sign a whole new contract in wanting in personal information that I was not providing, without a legitimate reason, all they could tell me is that it was policy. I have since canceled service. I’m extremely disappointed in this company. Do not recommend the staff is not knowledgeable with their policies nor their services that they have, I will be taking my business elsewhere.

I have been a customer for about a week and purchased a package from Sales Rep/Manager Chuck on May 21, 2025. A pest technician came out and serviced the entire home; however, the termite portion of the service was not completed. I was informed that someone would return to finish that part of the job. My only request was to be notified when someone would be coming back to the house. Unfortunately, I did not receive any communication. When I called the main office to follow up, I was told by a representative named Tina that I was “complaining.” Although Tina later apologized, the interaction left a negative impression and raised concerns about the level of professionalism and customer care. I will provide an update after the scheduled follow-up service on Friday.

This is the worst pest control provider in the area. They show up and either say they can't complete the service because something is broken or say they completed the service when they didn't actually do anything. Charging for services not given and refusing a refund. The owner refuses to talk to customers and the office staff can't provide any answers.

Technicians will show up sometimes willing to perform the service....but often give an excuse as to why they cannot. We were skipped an entire quarter for service and requested a refund for that quarter.....the owner emailed us back after 3 weeks of calling to let us know that we were only getting a partial refund for the quarter and he was terminating our relationship. Amazed how this company stays in business

I have been a loyal customer of Mountaineer Pest Control for over two years and a local Pastor, but my recent experience has been extremely disappointing. For several months, my wife and I have tried to resolve a billing issue where we were charged both through ACH withdrawals and separate debit transactions. Despite multiple calls and conversations with different representatives, we were repeatedly given the runaround with no resolution. The most frustrating part was when one of their representatives hung up on my wife without a word, and no one ever followed up with us. This level of customer service is completely unacceptable. A company that values its customers should at least make an effort to address concerns, especially when a loyal customer is simply trying to resolve a billing error. I can no longer recommend Mountaineer Pest Control based on my experience. If you're considering their services, be aware that customer service and billing transparency seem to be ongoing issues. I hope they improve, but I would advise others to proceed with caution. I would have given 1 star due to the poor customer service when dealing with issues, but I’m adding another star because the technicians who came out to service our property were great. Gene, in particular, was outstanding—he is a valuable part of the company and always did an excellent job with the spraying and treatments. He alone deserves a 5-star rating. Unfortunately, despite his excellent service, we have to part ways due to how our concerns were handled by the office staff. Poor communication, lack of follow-through, and overall disregard for our billing issues made it impossible to continue with this company. We truly appreciate Gene’s work, but customer service matters just as much as the service itself.

They’ve always been on time and gone out of their way to make me happy and their service technician Ty Heard goes above and beyond to make sure the job is done professionally and that I understand every bit of what is going on. Way too expensive for what they give you. And they make it really difficult to cancel service. You also can't pay online which makes the service more inconvenient than just doing it yourself.

I called and canceled services because I moved. Regardless of the conversation they continued services on a property I no longer live at. When I called back to let them know they said I am still responsible and that they will go after my credit. I would suggest finding another pest company with actual integrity.

We have been using Mountaineer for several years now. They were not timely but would eventually come by. We paid to have them come out every three months. Our bill came due and I paid using the app that they recommend on their site. About 30 days later I received a notice from the app that they had not accepted my funds and the money was sent back to me. (Now I did forget to call them and just do the payment over the phone) But they went ahead WITHOUT my permission and charged my card. This is not how you do business. When I called to complain about them using my card without my permission the lady said it was their practice to do so after so many days past due. I asked her to cancel our services and she said I have to mail in a cancellation letter. I will do that but then I wanted to make sure that I would not be charged anything in the future and she said "I shouldn't be". I just don't get it. Completely unprofessional.

My initial service with Mountaineer went fine.The next time I was due to be serviced I had to cancel. I was in and out of the hospital during that time so I did reschedule a couple of times because of this. That's on me. I would have paid the 65.00 for that month. What I don't get is why because I was not able to be serviced that month, Mountaineer canceled my service and contract and turned it over to a collection agency. They did not give me any chance to tell them I had every intention of having them service me monthly. I missed them one month which I would have paid for but instead they turn me over to collections and they inform me that I have to pay for a year of service and Mountaineer has to do nothing for the money I have to pay them. I don't understand how you (Mountaineer) can do people this way. You will get your money and I will get absolutely nothing. I can't help my health issues for that time but you can help how you treat people.I didn't cancel your services. You canceled on me without any communication. As a matter of fact, I did get two things from you. A 700.00 dollar bill for NOTHING and a lesson about how you conduct yourself. Enjoy the free money you will get and thank you for nothing!!! This is the first time I have ever written a negative review but anyone who reads this please know these other reviews from people saying Mountaineer did them wrong, BELIEVE THEM!!! I promise you they took me to the cleaners.

Mountaineer Pest Control in North Augusta continually double charges my account. It has happened over and over again. When you call, they speak nicely to you, but provide no actual assistance. I always have to leave a message. When they call you back...oh wait...they don’t call you back. You have to call them back, but when you do there is still no resolution to the problem. Still waiting... **Update in response to the owner Just to clarify...I first called on Monday morning. I was told the bank must have made a mistake and I would receive a call back. The call never came. I called again on Tuesday and spoke to Elaine. Elaine told me that Kelly was the person who would be able to help me. Kelly was busy at the moment and would need to return my call. I also asked to speak to a supervisor. Elaine informed me that Michael, the director, was not in. I asked her to leave him a message to give me a call back. Well, damned if I wasn’t surprised when neither of those fine people returned my call. When I called today, Laney answered the phone. She was pleasant, but unable to assist. I asked, once again, to speak with a supervisor. There was no supervisor available, and one would not be available until Monday. I was forced to leave a voicemail. So I left a voicemail. The owner is “sure” that I will receive a response by Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. I’m not as confident... I’m actively shopping for new service. Happy Thanksgiving! **Update Friday, November 23, 2018 I did, in fact, receive a phone call this morning. I've been assured that a refund is in motion and that I will not be double charged in the future.

I had Mountanier come out in late July. At the time there were flying bugs outside and they were fighting their way in. I had a great technician he was very friendly. After the initial treatment , I went away because I had become ill. When I came back it seemed like the bugs got worse. I called about a week ago and the young lady that I spoke with was rude while conversing and getting smart. I told her I had not raised my voice and that her tone wasn't called for. She told me I couldn't get out of my contract that I would have to pay it anyway. Than she mentioned a letter that I was supposed to have received to relay any comments about the service. Well after not being here for about 2 months , I never got a letter. In the meantime the person that was staying here used combat gel which he said seemed to work in Mid -August. I am scheduled for another treatment in a couple of days and I really do not want this service anymore. But if they are going to make me pay for the contract than they may as well give me my moneys worth. I am a very disappointed customer and I would not recommend their services unless they have money to burn.

I have listened to the call and that's not true however if you ever have a problem you can call us. You did execute a contract and have had 1 service and called us 1 time for retreatment which we sent someone out today free of charge
