I had called Guardian Pest Control only two days ago to come out to my home to treat for mice and was given a quote right over the phone and their soonest appointment (today). Jacob was who came by and he was so friendly, professional, and informative. As a first time home owner, I had a lot of anxiety over this but he walked me through the process of setting traps and how mice typically get into homes as well as the company’s follow up visits— he kept it honest which helped put my mind at ease. I would definitely recommend giving them a call if you need any pests removed!

I wish I could leave a positive review, but unfortunately my experience with Guardian Pest Control has been very different from what many others describe. When I first hired Guardian, I initially signed up for an interior rat program that would have cost over $600 to start. The technician who came out was professional and honest enough to say he did not believe that program was necessary and instead recommended an exterior rat program. I was told the exterior program normally costs $299, but the office decided to charge me $365.22 due to the extent of the problem. I agreed, as it was still significantly less than the interior program, and we completed the coordinated recommended exterior maintenance on our home. Because of the severity of the infestation, we agreed to weekly service visits (Thursdays) until the situation improved, with each visit billed at the standard $69 exterior service fee. I was never told that services would be reduced or switched to monthly at this time. In fact, during the visits that did occur, multiple rats were caught, indicating the issue had not improved. I am litterly looking outside at almost a dozen right now as we speak. Problems began with scheduling and communication. On November 13, the assigned technician went to the wrong house a couple of doors down. When he could not find my home, he continued with the rest of his appointments for the day. I was only informed of this after I reached out to ask why no one had arrived for the scheduled appointment that day. The technician then came the following week to the correct address as agreed. The week after that I had to reschedule, and a technician last came out on December 4 the following week. Since December 4, I have received no further service, no follow-up, and no communication, while my rat problem has continued to worsen. My plan was described as a monthly service plan for a severe rat problem, with weekly visits until the issue improved. That service is no longer being provided, and it is not my responsibility to remind a pest control company to show up for scheduled appointments. At no point were we told service was switching to monthly yet. Between the missed and incorrect appointments, being charged more than the standard exterior plan, and the complete breakdown in communication, I no longer have confidence in Guardian Pest Control. This review serves as formal notice of cancellation of my contract, effective immediately. Guardian charged setup fees for a service they recommended and are not consistently providing. I am seeking another pest control company that can offer more involved and reliable abatement. I wish I could recommend Guardian, but something is clearly not working between scheduling and technicians, and if the basics cannot be handled, not sure how I can trust them with an ongoing infestation. I hope my concerns can be kindly understood and help improve service for others when basic company functions can be addressed. Who knows when/ if someone would have shown up here again. If somehow in their system my scheduling got switched to from weekly to monthly I would have either had an appointment by now or received a notification of an appointment soon. I'm sure this Google review will be noticed before noticing what I am even talking about in their records. Their service has been no help to my issues and now it is apparent no one cares. How can a paying customer with known infestation issues be forgot about for service? How does a technician go to the wrong house and drive away and never contact the customer that their appointment is going to be missed? I am not looking to rectify this with Guardian at this point, again this is notice of cancellation of my contract. Thank you.

In this situation, we unfortunately had a technician who was not performing up to our standards, and allowed the communication to fall through, which caused an interruption in service. Bret was a very helpful, charming, and handsome man. We had Terminix prior to switching to Guardian at my house and dealt with a considerable amount of roaches that never went down. So far Guardian has been great. Sam is our usual technician, always courteous, efficient and considerate for our pets. We're on the gold shield plan since we bought the house, and haven't had any issues. They didn't come to the door as soon as we moved in like others, they weren't pushy, but were recommended to us by neighbors and friends. Always really transparent and professional. When we asked for specific treatment for carpenter bees, they were honest, suggesting waiting for next season and monitoring since it was probably too late, instead of trying to charge us more and just pushing to treat right away.

Have been using them for over a year and all the appointments I get are set of for the most inconvenient time so I have to reschedule. And the price went up 50% in one year we've had a mouse problem and still have a mouse problem at this point it's like we're just hopeful they go away over a year .

I contacted Guardian Pest Control for an infestation of yellow jackets earlier this summer. They indicated that it would be $425 for the service (without having come out to evaluate). I am allergic to yellow jackets, so agreed. I work from home, but could not be available when they came to perform the service. When I came downstairs, there were dozens of dead yellow jackets on the floor and blue painters tape had been applied to a screen over my kitchen sink. The next day, more yellow jackets were flying around my house (about a dozen per day)...when I contacted Guardian to ask if this is what they were charging me $425 for, they said that they weren't charging me anything and never provided me with any information about what they did when they were here. To this day, I have yellow jackets in my house (which I have to avoid...I have been stung a couple of times). Most bizarre customer service I've ever experienced.

As we discussed, when the technician was on site to perform the service, he was unable to identify an active yellow jacket nesting area, and as a result was unable to treat. He sealed up an area he believed could be where the yellow jackets were entering the kitchen from outside as a courtesy. As there was no nest identified, we did not charge you for this visit. Generally completed services will have a digital appointment record emailed to you, however as this service was not completed, no appointment record was generated to inform you of what was done. As you mentioned, you were unavailable to speak to the technician at the time of the service, so he did not have an opportunity to explain the situation to you. When you contacted the office, I believe that there was some confusion over the nature of your call, questioning the charge for the service, rather than what had been done. Our representative was not able to speak to you directly, however left two messages explaining that you had not been charged for the visit. It appears that this frustration was caused primarily by a breakdown in communication. We apologize for this, as communication and responsiveness are two of the things our company most values, and it is very out of the ordinary for a situation such as this to occur. If at any time we had known that activity had persisted after this visit, we certainly would have had a technician back out to reassess the situation and treat if possible. We hope that if you do experience pest problems in the future, you consider giving us another chance to show you the level of service that Guardian is known for. Thank you very much for your valuable feedback.

They were supposed to show up to do a treatment for roaches. Two days prior to their appt date, I hired someone to help me pack everything up and it was approx 36 lg boxes that were packed up and the areas emptied out were ready. They never showed up. No notice of a no show until the day they were supposed to show up...the man assigned to the task called in sick and guardian did not have anyone else to send in his steed. The appt was rescheduled for the following week. I went through the same procedure and again hired someone to help. Also, that day they were supposed to show for the second time I was sick. Again they did not show up. When I called to inquire why they did not show up and when will they show up, the person whom answered the phone told me they are not allowed to divulge that information. I was asked my address and then I was told there was no record of any appt being made. I then told the person I have the date and set time on the contract and I was told they do not give contracts and notices out. I asked if the person would like me to send them a pic of the paperwork with their logo, phone and address upon it and I was told it is fake because they don't do that. There is a clause on their paperwork stating that if the client cancels it must be done within 24 hours before the scheduled date or else the client will be charged $50.00 non refundable. But what does the client get when there is a no show and notice is not given at all or on short notice? (Nothing!) Very rude, not at all reliable and hence not even more than a star. And the star given is only because I can't post the review with no stars.

Guardian pest control cancelled not even an hour before the service. Do they not realize how much work it is to take all the stuff out of cupboards? My poor traumatized cats. All of this for nothing! If I was to cancel without 24 hours notice I get charged. I missed work to take my pets out of the house. This is terrible customer service.My appointment was rescheduled for Monday. It is Wednesday!

Put treatment notices on ALL entrances to a home, not just the front door.. Guardian sent a letter saying that a tech would come to do a treatment sometime between 11 AM and 3 PM. The note also said that no one should be in the apartment for 4 hrs after treatment. Well, I sat inside for 1 1/2 hrs before finding out that Guardian came at 10 AM while no one was home. I eventually figured out someone had been there and called for more info. The rep I spoke to acted as if this was my fault because I didn't read the treatment notice left on the front door. And how was I supposed to know to check the front door for a notice? I came in through the backway (where no notice was left) shortly before 11, and treatment wasn't supposed to happen until 11 at the earliest. I'd know if the tech was here during the scheduled time because I was home.. and I'd imagine that they'd ask me to leave.
