I just purchased a whole house air heat pump system from Carney All Seasons with Scott Dedrick. His expertise and careful explanations made the technicalities of the system easier to understand and led to small choices that made the system better. He has a unique skill set not only in the technology of the industry but in aspects of the business end of the purchase. I trusted him to get me to the right result and he made it happen. A valuable renewable resource! Thank you Scott

I called for service today because our outside unit was making a loud, concerning noise, and Jacob Petrowski was sent out to help. I couldn't be more impressed with his work. Jacob was incredibly efficient, diagnosing the issue almost immediately and getting straight to the fix. It’s clear he knows exactly what he’s doing. He was professional, kept me informed throughout the process, and had everything running quietly again in no time. If you need someone who is fast, knowledgeable, and reliable, definitely ask for Jacob!

We have been long-time customers with Carney for some time now, and they have an excellent track record. Installs/replacements and ongoing service, both have been very solid. They may not be the cheapest option, but they deliver quality service with routinely high caliber technicians.

Detailed pricing discrepancy and misleading product representation I am writing this to share a factual account of my experience with Carney All Season regarding a water treatment installation. Product Misrepresentation: I was charged $445 for an AO Smith Water Filter. The technician described this as a "professional-grade" system. However, this exact model is a retail product sold for $99 (at Lowe’s, etc.) and is explicitly labeled by the manufacturer as a "DIY Installation" unit for homeowners. Lack of Transparency: Since this was an add-on to a larger $3,117 water softener project, the additional labor was minimal. The company charged a 450% markup without disclosing that this was a low-cost, DIY-friendly retail item. Firm Refusal to Resolve: When I contacted the office to discuss this pricing discrepancy, they stated they "could not do anything" and offered no resolution. To resolve the matter fairly, I offered to purchase a brand-new, identical filter for them so they could recover the 'non-reusable' hardware. They flatly rejected this reasonable offer. This proves that the business is not concerned about material loss, but is instead intent on keeping the predatory $445 fee for a simple DIY task. Their refusal to accept a replacement shows a complete lack of good faith and confirms they exploited my language barrier to secure an unconscionable profit. I believe consumers have the right to know the retail value of the parts being installed, especially when they are marketed as professional equipment. I have attached the invoice and product comparison for transparency.

Provider response

In regard to your recent review, I would like to take the opportunity to clarify a few of the points you raised.

First, my technician never used the term “professional grade.” The quote you received and approved clearly states the brand and model of the filter being installed. While these filters can be purchased from stores such as Home Depot or Lowe’s, they are not always available in-store and often need to be ordered. We keep them in stock so our customers do not experience delays.

Although the filter is marketed as a DIY product, we cannot always assume a customer’s comfort level with installation. We have encountered situations where customers begin a project themselves and then discover additional issues—such as problems with valves, fittings, or other components—that they are unable to resolve. Our technicians are trained to handle these situations and carry fully stocked trucks, allowing them to address unexpected issues on the spot and save our customers time and frustration.

Additionally, my technician spoke with you on March 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM to review the installation and answer your questions. We have a transcript of that call, and all questions were addressed clearly. The installation then took place on March 13, 2026, providing you with time to research the product and decide whether you preferred to proceed on your own.

Regarding your concern about resolution, I did offer to reduce the installation cost by an additional $50 and provide a replacement filter at no charge. You declined this offer and instead requested that we remove the installed filter and fully refund the installation. Unfortunately, this was not possible, as the filter had already been installed and could not be returned or reused.

We value your feedback and strive to be transparent and fair in all of our services. If you would like to discuss this matter further, please feel free to reach out.

Called to get an estimate/quote for a simple HVAC job (install a soft starter on my condenser), and was told I would have to PAY $99 to dispatch a tech to get me an estimate. Absolutely ridiculous, and very disappointing.

Provider response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We understand the frustration around not receiving a quote over the phone. In order to provide accurate pricing and recommend the best solution for your system, an in-person inspection is required. While our estimates are always free, a $99 diagnostic fee applies when a full system evaluation is needed. We always aim to be transparent and ensure there are no surprises with pricing. We’re sorry if this didn’t meet your expectations, and we truly wish you the best with your project.

Charge $49 just to show up. Gave me an estimate that a plumber who did not charge $49 to shup up was able to beat easily. Don't bother with this con game.

I wish I could write a better review for Carney All Seasons, but unfortunately this 1 star review reflects my experience with them. In late August I read an article about Carrier's newest Opti-V heatpump system, and figured THIS would be the year I get rid of all the window units in my home. I went to Carrier's website and read up a little more, and opted to find a dealer through their website. I selected two "factory Authorized" "award winning" experts through Carrier's expert locater search. Carney All Seasons was one of the two I submitted a contact form for. Mind you that submitting a estimate request included items as Name, Address, Cell and email for contact purposes, all of which I filled out; correctly. Almost immediately Carney All Seasons scheduled, their HVAC salesman to come to the house review the house, our needs and provide an estimate. Immediately after scheduling I received a text message notifying me that "scott" would be on his way on the scheduled date and time to provide estimate, in included a photo of who I should expect (nice touch) and confirmed the time and day. Scott arrived on time on Monday Morning, was a very personable gentleman who seemed to know his stuff, understood our needs and promised a quote "in a few days because of his schedule". We were fine with all of the details we provided and expected to have a reviewable quote at least by the end of the week. Immediately after Scott Left, we received a text message asking us to "let them know how Scott did, and left review sites for Google and Facebook. Friday afternoon came, no emails, no text messages, no phone calls. Perplexed, I figured I would reach out to Carney All Seasons to see if there was an issue. I called the number and received their answering service, who I explained the situation to. The operator also perplexed, took my details and promised to relay my message. About 10 minutes later, I received a phone call from Carney All Seasons, I did not get the individuals name, she was inquisitive about my call, I explained my situation to her. A few moments later she mentions "well that's it, we didn't have your email! I will connect with Scott give him your email and you should have your quote sometime Monday." I provided my email, spelled and confirmed three times, thanked her for her call back and anticipated delivery of my quote shortly. A little foreshadowing, I am writing this review on the following Friday, still without a quote. I typically would not leave a review and just move on, but want to let you know that if Carney All Seasons does not want to work with you, they'll just not reach back out to you. You see, it doesn't make sense that to receive a quote when you fill out a request online, you need to provide that contact detail. So for them to mention they "did not have my email" is super suspect, as they had reached out by phone and text after I provided no other details in a live conversation. I am also certain that they had my email because, the form AND Scott confirmed it before he left. I also confirmed three times, just in case I mistyped it on the form with the person who called me the week later. Lastly, no text, phone call or email after patiently waiting another week for my estimate where now the home office was informed I did not receive my quote. very strange. At this point, it’s hard to believe the issue was a simple oversight. Carney All Seasons clearly had my contact information (they managed to call and text me without issue), yet they failed to follow through on the most basic part of the sales process: providing an estimate. While they may have many happy customers, my experience shows that if they don’t want your business, they’ll simply leave you in the dark. Reliability and follow-through are critical when choosing an HVAC company, and unfortunately Carney All Seasons failed on both counts.

Provider response

Hello Darin-

Thank you for the feedback on your experience- we pride ourselves on communication so it’s disappointing to hear you feel like we missed the mark. I can confirm that your quote was emailed as requested to the corrected email address the day you called. Our system shows the quote was delivered the morning of 9/18 and was received. It’s very possible it went to junk mail. Please feel free to contact me directly and I would be happy to resend the information- my name is Chris and I am one of the owners. My direct email is chris.long@casphc.com… I will also reach out offline. Thank you for the opportunity.

I was with All Seasons for 10 years. Bought a new ac system from Rick . Great system. No problems for 10 years now. They called every year to schedule my service under my contract. When Carney came in, everything stopped. No service since 2023 even after making appointments they never showed for. Not even a call. I'm sorry Rick. I cancelled my contract and my credit card. I tried to call and cancel twice. Hung up on twice. Expected a bit more after 10 years of loyalty. Time to move on. Nice try with your reply. I am not an idiot. Rick came to my house and sold me the system for $4400.00. I can email my receipt if you'd like signed by Rick. I never had another company at this house

Provider response

Thank you for your continued business over the years — we truly appreciate it.
We’ve carefully reviewed your account and confirmed that you’ve received service every May through 2024, up until your cancellation this past May. Our records show no missed or canceled appointments during this time.
While we do have a team member named Rick, it appears you have not worked with him previously. It’s possible there may be some confusion with another company.
If you have any concerns or questions, we’d be more than happy to speak with you directly. Please don’t hesitate to give us a call at your convenience.

Tenants with responsibility for routine service on appliances don’t call this place they won’t help without jumping through hoops. Lots of other places in the area will do the job with no issue or runaround. I went with Bergeys but there are plenty other good options.

Provider response

Thanks for reaching out. We completely understand your concern. However, before any work can be performed, we’re required to speak directly with the homeowner, as they are responsible for authorizing and coordinating service.

We’d be happy to help once we’ve connected with the property owner. Please feel free to have them contact us at their convenience.

Thank you for your understanding!

Never use this company. Made an appointment to have my split system charged. They promised they would come out and charge the system. On the day of the appointment they called and told me they wouldn't add the refrigerant as the did not initially install the system. Terrible policy and would recommend that you search elsewhere for hvac .

Provider response

We’re so sorry you were disappointed you couldn’t receive service. As we discussed over the phone, the new refrigerant that was federally mandated to be used beginning in 2025 is currently suffering a worldwide shortage of supply. While we are well stocked, we must retain our supply to support systems that our customer's purchase from us. As you opted to purchase your system from a third party and install it yourself, we are unable to provide you with this refrigerant. I hope you understand that we must support the customers that entrusted us with their business and depend on us to stand behind our products. Feel free to call with any questions.

I would not use. Will update. My review to cont. Communication Not their. Do not do major installs all year. But happy to contact to do maintenance on a system that hasn’t even been installed. Trust me others out there. Choose them. Why would anyone put a system that in Ten would be no good. That’s what I was told. So knew weren’t putting in but yet no one new proposal in January. So either way. You company never mentioned that not doing work after April Lack of communication. Owner gets envolved only when doesn’t like a review.

Provider response

Hello Mr. Kelly-

I know you have discussed this with our staff directly over the phone, but I am happy to reiterate the situation to assist with any confusion.

You initially contacted us in October of last year to quote the HVAC portion of a much larger, full renovation/ remodel project you were undertaking at your home. You signed a quote with us in November and both you and your contractor told us of the urgency to get permits in place so work can begin- we obtained permits immediately and then for whatever reasons that occurred between you and your contractor having nothing to do with us, no work on the home was started. We contacted you in Dec of last year and told you of coming price changes for 2025 and that a new refrigerant was being launched in the new year as mandated by the federal government which would also change pricing- we gave you an opportunity to lock your pricing in via a deposit to secure 410a equipment on 2024 pricing, or by allowing us to start the work, but you declined both options as you were not ready. We held pricing as long as we possibly could- a full 5 months- but now in April of 2025, we have no choice but to cancel the contract and offer the option to re-quote the job. However, as we informed you, and as we are up front with all of our customers, we do not do remodel, new additions, or new construction jobs from May 1 through the end of the summer as our installation crews need to be available for replacement projects during our busiest time of year. As we discussed, as construction work on the home has not yet begun, we would have been happy to requote for a Sept or later start date.

I want to make sure there's no misunderstanding that we held pricing for 5 full months despite us receiving price increases from our suppliers due to product changes, refrigerant changes, and tariff concerns. We collected no deposits, did not charge for pulling the permits, no work was started, and no work was scheduled despite our multiple attempts to do so... We wish you absolutely nothing but the best with whatever contractor you choose moving forward and hope this helps alleviate any confusion you may have regarding this matter.

Charged me $349 for initial service dropped off a few mouse boxes outside my house, placed some steel wool under my sink never showed up after that and never called to schedule services. I still have mice, ants and stink bugs and I have paid them upwards of $600 since December. Save your money call a company that doesn’t scam.

Provider response

We take concerns like this very seriously and are disappointed to hear your experience didn’t meet expectations. However, we’d like to clarify a few things.
Our initial service includes exterior bait stations, interior rodent-proofing where accessible, and a full inspection — all of which were completed at the time of your first appointment.

Our records also indicate that follow-up services were scheduled and completed. You were actually due for your quarterly inspection this month. As discussed when the plan was initiated, any issues that may arise between your quarterly visits would be handled, free of charge should you reach out to us.

We stand behind our work and are always willing to resolve concerns, but we ask that feedback be honest and fair. We encourage you to contact us directly at 215-822-9029 should you have additional concerns.

We haven't been satisfied with the service. The only good part from the experience was that I was given an appointment for the next day. The problem was not diagnosed correctly. An offer was given to us based on the wrong diagnostic information that was for a little over $800. Today I had a person that came and fixed my oil heater ( he replaced a part that cost $69 and that was the actual problem). I am glad that we have an engineering degrees that helped us to recognize when someone is not capable to make correct diagnose and the offer that was given is going to be waist of money.

A Horror Story of Incompetence followed by Extortion I turned my system on in late May. I had a pre-paid regular maintenance check on July 3rd. The 1st tech, Haley, checked out the system and reported no issues. I returned home at 9:30 PM, turned the system off and went to bed. I did not run the system on July 4th, out of town for the holiday. On the 5th, I turned the system on at 9 AM. I went out and got back about 12:30 PM. The air conditioning system was running but the house was warm. By 2 PM, the house temps were 80 deg. I called Carney and the manager said he wanted to review what happen during the service visit on the 3rd. He called me back and said a tech would be at my house before 7 PM. The 2nd tech, Tim came around 5 PM. He checked the outside unit. He came back in a while later and said that I had a leak, the unit was all iced up and the system needed some refrigerant. (There was no indication of icing or leaking made by Haley on the 3rd). He also said he could not continue until I paid $961.00. I requested that they bill me and continue with the repair, to which he said "that wasn't their policy. I had to pay in advance. Now, mind you, I've been a contract customer for over 3 years. He called his manager, John, who said the same thing. Another heatwave was forecasted so I paid. Tim put in the refrigerant and dye on July 5th and said another tech would be out to check for the leak since the dye had to run through the system. The system ran perfectly from the 5th until the 3rd tech, Jacob, came to check for the leak on August 2nd. Using UV glasses and light, he spend over 2 hours examining my system and could not find any leaks, inside units or the outside unit. But he did not have a ladder and could not check the upper level, outside connections. So now, a 4th tech had to come out. The 4th tech, Jeff came out on Aug 7th, with ladder, checked the upper-level connections and found nothing wrong. He also rechecked the outside inverter unit, where the 3rd tech, Jacob, had looked, for almost 40 minutes. This time without the UV glasses, Jeff said he found two small leaks where the valves were loose. I emailed the regional manager, Scott, on July 11th, telling him the entire problem. The company (all seasons) had reached out to him on the 5th but he wasn't available. He promised a return call the following week. Jeff also reached out to Scott, while at my home on the 7th, again I was promised a return call, within 48 hours. So after 2 direct calls and multiple emails, as of Aug 25th, He's never responded back! My system has been running flawlessly since July 5th when the refrigerant and dye was put in, as it was prior to the 1st tech's (Haley) routine service visit. The company has extremely poor customer service, negligent techs and a policy that is akin to extortion. If I wanted my already working air conditioning system to work after a routine maintenance check, I had to pay $961 to replace refrigerant that first tech allowed to leak out, dye and an electronic leak detector that did not find a leak. I would not recommend Carney All seasons to anyone. I am deeply disappointed as I have been a customer for years with the original owner. It is a shame that his name is now associated with this company.

Provider response

We are so disheartened to read this review without having the opportunity to speak with you. While I have reached out to you via both the phone and email, I wanted to also respond here. It sounds from your comments that you may be under the impression that we are no longer a local, family business but that is not the case. We are still very much family owned and still very much local. We assure you that your assertions about us and our policies could not be further from the truth. We pride ourselves on both honesty and integrity and as members of the community, would never do anything that would make us anything less than trustworthy. I know that you did speak to our service manager when the diagnostic was first completed and he was under the impression that while you were unhappy with the circumstances, you understood the findings and the reasons for the charges. We are always here for our customers and I would be more than happy to discuss this with you to clarify any concerns you may have and to do whatever I can to help. Please feel free to return my call or respond to my email and I will make myself available at anytime.
