We’d been using the same lawn service for years and slowly watched our mediocre lawn fade into a dismal garden of spotty grass with invasive weeds. I was not satisfied with the answers I would receive to my concerns. Finally I heard about Lawn Doctor and researched them and thought they were offering something different. They came out in late June and actually tested my soil and walked around my yard to figure out what was going on and then created an individualized plan to fix the issues. I called them a lot with questions which they graciously took time to answer and explain the rationale. A couple months later my lawn is on its way to health. They told me it would take time to fully recover but I noticed a significant difference by the end of the summer. I trust that Lawn Doctor knows what they’re doing and truly have a passion for being good at what they do. I also appreciate how kind they’ve been in their communication with me. Their billing is clear and fair. They are very professional and personable. I highly recommend Lawn Doctor!

A few years ago, I tried a national lawn service chain - with very poor results. However, as my lawn was beginning to be made up of more weeds than grass, I tried using Scott's treatments but many of the weeds seemed to thrive on their product, so I finally gave up and decided to try a local company, Lawn Doctor of Chardon. I could not believe the improvement after just one treatment. Now, at the end of the season, the lawn looks totally different. I couldn't be more pleased. Their technician was great too, even down to wheeling in my trash bin on one occasion. He's very knowledgeable, polite and easy to deal with. Highly recommend the company.

I reiterate what I said on the previous reviews. I highly recommend the Lawn Doctor. He is a problem solver for any issue you might have. I’ve left another review complimenting Alan a few years ago on how he eliminating weeds that other companies I had couldn’t. This year I had issues with skunks digging up my yard searching for grubs. I know Alan is super busy but he came the day I contacted him about the skunks. I haven’t had a problem since. My daughter contracted him last year and he turned her barren grass into a thick green lawn. I highly recommend The Lawn Doctor.

We imported a specialty fertilizer found only in one place in the world. The grass is now happy and healthy. Thanks again for your feedback from Mentor and Painesville.
My lawn left a lot to be desired when I bought my house in September 2022. In May 2024, it's one of the greenest, thickest lawns in my neighborhood. The first few times my yard was treated, the weeds didn't respond but they kept trying new things until something worked. I love that they don't take a "one size fits all" approach. They will customize treatments to your yard to get the best results. These guys are the best at what they do and I love getting compliments from neighbors.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We utilize eight different fertilizer plans to obtain superior results. Choosing the best approach significantly complicates our planning and increases our costs. However, comments like yours go a long way to ensure we have the best approach to achieving superior results.
This past Fall I requested Lawn Doctor of Chagrin Falls – Chardon to come by for a quote. Within the hour, Alan Eggleston who is the owner was at my property to do an assessment. With no sales pressure he recommended a weed spraying treatment for the yard. I was leaving for work, and to my amazement and at no cost to me, he took care of blowing a load and a half of leaves off my back yard to a corner of my property to be picked up later. The leaves didn't need weed killer and fertilizer but they covered the grass. Two weeks later he stopped back by at no cost again, and sprayed a second application to get at some particularly stubborn weeds spreading throughout my lawn. My lawn is now weed free, and ready for next Spring. I couldn’t be more satisfied. It is refreshing to witness what I see as an outstanding customer focused business. Update for 2020 - Lawn is still looking great. We are banking on Lawn Doctor this year as we are hosting our son's wedding in our back yard later this Summer. Thanks!!! Update for 2021 - Lawn is still looking great. We had our son's wedding in our back yard in 2020 and things looked great. Due to COVID restrictions the wedding was on ZOOM so even with an unforgiving camera the yard still looked great. We'll be having lawn Doctor of Chagrin Falls back out for this year. Thanks!!! Update for 2022 - Our lawn is still doing great. Thanks guys. We also had Lawn Doctor apply a bug spray/dusting around the perimeter of our house to ward off ants, which were getting into our house in the Spring. Thanks again!!! Update for 2024. We have had a wet Spring, so they haven't had a chance to get back on our lawn. mJust over ythe weekend my wife commented on how nice our lawn was looking since we've been utilizing Lawn Doctor the last few years. By utilizing superior materials, we obtain grass that thickens and maintains the dark green appearance without fading between applications. Rebel7, we're happy to hear you had such a positive experience with our team! This year we found a large difference in the soil PH level in the front compared to the back yard. We usually do not see this in Mentor. We had to pay for two seperate soil analysis to find it, but problem solved. Thank you once again for your review.

My yard has a slight hi spot. Every summer it drys out and crab grass works it’s way in.This past season for the first time my grass was green no crab grass. Professional company because they use the good stuff that actually works! Weed control is black and white it works or it doesn’t. I recommend this company.

Unfortunately, this company did not work out for me. My yard is full of crabgrass. I contacted the owner. He never came back out. I cannot recommend them. I gave him two years to fix my yard. Here’s what my yard looked after 2 summers! Doesn’t even look like I have a yard service. If you’re going to hire him, I hope you get more than I did!

Hello Laura Landies,<br>As I indicated, we did not apply a crabgrass pre-emergent due to your planned seeding. Doing so would have killed the seedlings when the roots reached the pre-emergent level. You were upset that you had crabgrass after two-years of service. Crabgrass seeds can lay dormant for seven-years, with one university agricultural department recently claiming they had germination at ten-years. Even though I was not obligated to kill the crabgrass without a charge, I had agreed to do so. All I requested of you was for you to fulfill your obligations which you chose to not do. <br>
I switched to Lawn Doctor and very happy with their service. They measured the PH of my soil and provided me with a plan and set expectations on how long it would take to start getting a better lawn.

We deserved this one Ken, and we are sorry to have let you down. Our vole, lime and first weed control and fertilization for 2022 went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, we failed to text 24-hours in advance when you second application of the year was scheduled. We missed a step of unprinting your invoice, which delayed our return. We run a report weekly now to catch this moving forward. Lesson learned and again, we appologize.
Paid to have premium service with soil test. Treatment was not done for high ph. Company didn't follow through on anything they said they would do. Then wanted payment anyway.

I'm sorry you were disappointed with our service. We identified the high PH level, and sulfur is typically applied in the spring or fall. We made three applications of fertilizer, and we did follow-up on the sulfur in October.
Signed up with Lawn Doctor earlier this year and made it clear that I wasn't interested in the use of any harmful chemicals on my lawn and needed something safe for the neighborhood pets and animals. Alan said they had a plan for that and that's what would be used but that ended up not being the case. Not sure if he forgot what we discussed or if they don't offer more pet friendly solutions. I also asked for months for someone to come out and diagnose what's causing unhealthy looking spots of grass in my yard. I was told multiple times that someone would come out to take a look but it never happened.

Hello Mr. Karaba,<br>We did come out on three times to inspect the property. In hindsight, with the primarily Kentucky Blue grass in the shaded yard, I should have sold you a fungicide application. Typically, this fungus resolves itself by adding nitrogen which we did. I should have read you better, and I apologize for failing in doing so.

Lawn Doctor helped improve our lawn last year. Things did not change magically, as we have some stubborn weed varieties, difficult soil and bare patches; but we plan to move forward with recommendations to continue to improve our lawn even more over this next season. I must say, Alan was very attentive and helpful in making things right when a newer employee made a poor application decision. That employee was courteous and hardworking as well. Applications were always timely.
