A complete nightmare. Do not waste your money on this company. I rarely leave reviews like this, but I am absolutely infuriated by how much money and time I have wasted on this Kingston franchise. I tried so hard to give them the benefit of the doubt, stuck it out, and genuinely tried to make it work, but it was an absolute disaster from start to finish. The lack of consistency here is astounding. Their staff is clearly limited, and you never know who is going to show up on your property. While a rare few of their technicians were polite and knowledgeable, the vast majority of them were incredibly rude, lazy, and completely unknowledgeable about basic lawn care. Multiple times, I watched them treat my yard like a race—zipping around in one or two incredibly fast, careless passes and leaving huge patches completely untouched. Because of this sloppy work, their pest management was entirely ineffective and a complete waste of money. To make matters worse, whatever low-grade grass seed they used on my lawn ended up producing an absolute explosion of weeds instead of actual grass. My yard looks significantly worse now than before I hired them. Their scheduling and communication are completely broken. They are so inconsistent that they can't even tell you what day or time they plan to show up on your property. When you call the local office to try to sort out their mess, the customer service is dismissive, unresponsive, and condescending. Other customers have noted online that if you call to resolve a botched application, the office staff will either completely ignore your requests or treat you with utter disrespect. I even found out that a manager here previously had to admit to a customer that their own technicians were treating properties wrong and actively ruining the grass! They charge premium, extortionate prices for terrible communication and destructive results. Save yourself the massive headache, the anger, and the money. I finally gave up on them, switched to an online lawn care program, and got vastly superior, healthy organic results on my own than what this "professional" company ever managed to do. Avoid them at all costs.

Service is timely and high quality - no more weeds. Even better, Amanda in the office answers all my questions and is a pleasure over the phone and on email.

I can't speak higher about Lawn Doctor. The customer service is beyond exceptional - Sue and Amanda are so friendly and helpful, the technicians are amazing and efficient, and my lawn has never looked better. I would recommend Lawn Doctor to anyone with a pulse. Craig is the best person and loves what he does, it shows by how much he cares. I didn't expect to get such great service at such a reasonable price.

We hired Lawn Doctor for my parents, who are in their 80s, and after four services, the lawn looked worse than it did before they started. During each visit, someone was home and witnessed the technician make only one quick pass around the property before leaving. After the third visit, I complained and explicitly asked that they not return to the property. Despite this, another technician showed up and again made only two quick passes before leaving. Shortly after, we received an outrageous bill for over $400. At no point did an owner or supervisor come to the property, and if one did, I was never informed. To make matters worse, my calls have not been returned, and the owner will only communicate with my landscapers, as he handled this separately with them on the side. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, especially given the age of my parents and the lack of professionalism and accountability shown throughout the process. I would not recommend this company. This might be the second time I have ever posted a review that’s how bad this company is and I hope no one has to experience what my parents did after hiring lawn doctor in Kingston.

This is my second year with Law Doctor of Kingston and I am very pleased with the result. It was basically a yard full of weeds before they treated my lawn. The company that has cut and trimmed my yard for many years said it has never looked this good.

The weeds were rampant in both my front and back yard even with pre and post emergent weed control. The worst were prostrate knotweed- looks like a flat green doily. They took over most of the yard. Same thing happened when I contracted with True Green. I had to literally pull these weeds myself to get rid of them-temporally as they always came back. Not happy with the weed control. Also, Lawn Dr. does not offer a "dethatch" service. I had to hire another landscaper to do this process, and I was told it was better to bag grass clippings and not to mulch, which I will do in the future.

Craig set up an evaluation, estimate and program quickly. Great service.

Tried reach out twice, my previous 3 services were preformed right before a rainstorm, my last service was done 15 minutes before it started downpouring. I called to complain because my yards been looking terrible this year compared to last year and no one got back to me. So I called again today during normal business hours and a call center picked up. Mind you I have a bill from a service yesterday that I was told previously would be free.

There field representatives are always polite and knowledgeable about what the are coming to treat.

They must be inexperienced (to put it nicely) I asked for an on-site (no- charge) estimate what I got was an email estimate of $1,244.72 and when I asked how they came up with that Amanda told me based on square footage. We have 3 acres of property but we only want a very small section to be maintained by them- which I told Amanda on the phone. Awful customer service- I have probably 10 emails to backup my “frustration” Do yourself a favor- find someone else. Lawn doctor is franchising- maybe I just got a dud This old house reviews/rates Tru Green much higher. I’ll offer them my money

I was disappointed in the management of Lawn Doctor. The fertilization plan I signed up for was 3 service visits at 6 week intervals. The last visit was 2 weeks after the second with leaves all over the ground. Spreading fertilizer on leaves makes no sense. I got an email notice of this third service and called immediately to reschedule a time after leaves are removed, left a number of messages and never got a call back to reschedule. I will not be using Lawn Doctor again.

Bad communication bad business. Someone came out May 29th for a quote. I singed made a payment and was told a truck will be here the following week. 3 weeks later nobody ever showed up. When I called the gentleman seemed annoyed. I called weekly was told next week next week. Then I was told oh we can’t guarantee a day it was all nonsense. I delayed some grass stuff I was going to do waiting for them.

Lawn Doctor has repeatedly succeeded in making my lawn look green and healthy

Lawn doctor saved my lawn. Have been using their service for years now. When I first bought my home over 24 years ago, grubs had taken over and the grass looked like hay. I tried over the counter products, but didn't have right combination or amount to treat the problem. Andy set up service and the timing and type of service revived my lawn. I have beautiful,, thick grass. The techs do a good job, friendly and professional. Some of the products have strong odor that can be covered up. I water the area to disperse the products. I have a happy, healthy lawn

Awesome to work with do a great job

I have been with Lawn Doctor for over 20 years. They are consistent in not only providing the scheduled servicings as contracted BUT much more than that, Craig and Andy are always most responsive if any issues ever arise. That go the extra mile to “ keep the customer happy”. In the times in which we live, that is a rare occurrence. I highly recommend these individuals and the services they perform!!!!!!

Lawn Doctor has always been reliable and provides a good service. I have used them over the p as st few years and love how my lawn looks! I highly recommend them and because my lawn looks so good, my neighbors now use them as well.

Dependable, reliable service with good products

I have been using Lawn Doctor of Kingston & Poughkeepsie for 3 years for fertilizing and weed control and my lawn has never looked better. They always come automatically and I never have to ask them. Real happy to do business with them.

The Lawn Doctor website needs help. It's not well designed or intuitive. It also doesn't outline when services are to be performed and they don't advise of upcoming services via text.

Weather permitting they have been reasonably on time. The technicians know their job well. Our lawn looks gtreat this fall.

So happy we signed up for their service! Do to injuries and age I hadn't been able to keep up with multiple feedings and weed deterrents. They have made my lawn healthy, thicker and greener in one year! Will definitely continue with their service.
