Big R & J Exterminating

I was very disappointed with Big R & J. I chose them because I wanted to support a local business; even though other companies like Terminix offer free inspections. Unfortunately, that choice turned out to be a mistake. I scheduled a paid pest inspection after seeing their positive reviews. The technician confirmed evidence of mice in my home and mentioned some possible entry points. However, he didn’t offer any services to address the problem. When I later called the office to ask whether they could fix the entry points mentioned, I was told that no photos had been taken during the inspection. They said I would need another inspection to determine whether the problem was something they could handle. It was also implied that they would only re‑inspect and provide photos if I purchased their $200 mouse service. The original inspection cost $75, yet they didn’t take pictures or document the problem areas in detail. Just vague notes like “found a few small holes in exterior of home.” Based on my experience, I would not recommend or hire this company again.

Trapped a squirrels in a humane trap and then left them for a day and a 1/2 in the trap in the pouring rain, and then when I called to complain about it to them, leaving him trapped and in the trap, i was told it doesn't matter. They're just going to take them away and euthanize them anyway. I find that offensive, and they lie.

I was very happy with Big R&J. They got out to my place promptly and I felt their assessment of my squirrel situation was very fair and honest. I'll be calling them back if I have any other pests that need attention. Thanks guys!

While they did help us resolve the problem with bait boxes, the customer service end seemed to be a mess. The first visit we paid the "technician", the initial payment. a month later, they had claimed the first visit was never paid for, and that we did in fact need to pay for the visits the technician told us we weren't going to be charged for. We paid for the initial visit (almost $500). It wasn't until we provided proof of payment that they removed that from our balance. The card number they asked if payment came from, wasn't even ours. Definitely an issue with communication between those in the field and and in office.

The team at B&R is courteous and professional with a wealth of knowledge and remove all of my bug issues and created a preventative path forward too. Awesome experience. Highly recommend!

Called about a wasp issue. Darrin came out and dusted and sprayed and cleaned up the nest. The nest was up high maybe 12-15' on an overhang and hard to get too and he had it taken care of in no time. Very quick, professional and reasonable prices. Highly recommend. Can't thank Big R & J enough for giving us our front porch back.

I called Big R&J as I had a bumblebee problem and I made it worse trying to fix it myself. I called for help, and Chris the owner, and his wife, went WAY above and beyond for me. Both were so kind and understanding. He came at the last minute at the end of the day. He treated the bee area, and explained the process in detail and what to expect. I have no idea what we would have done if he didn't come. Thank you to Chris, and his lovely and helpful wife, for the exemplary service and care. I recommend this company 100%!

Just had Nick come out and spray our new house for spider and pest. Nick was on the ball and very knowledgeable. He worked fast and was extremely friendly and respectful. Big R&J does amazing work and I would highly recommend.

Hired big rand j,went into apartment for 5 min not more 3 times.problem still exist they like to blame on other issues and say they can’t solve it after they took the money ,they even try to double charge.The tenants all time me they spend not more then 5 minutes.

We have used R&J in the past with no issues however we recently moved into a new home and as usual had our home sprayed for bugs as we typically do. As spring has progressed, we noticed there is a very big ant problem outside that the pesticide used to treat the home is not touching and now they are coming inside. When calling R&J to retreat, they state that we are now past our 30 day warranty (it’s been 39 days) and we will have to pay to have it retreated. I would think that a company that uses pesticides that they advertise covers for 6+ months would honor an ant problem that if treated correctly should not be an issue. Furthermore, the customer service rep was very rude – I guess good customer service is hard to come by anymore. Needless to say we will be using another company going forward.

Please save your money and do not use this company. They will take complete advantage of you and say anything to get your money. After spending only a few minutes in our attic (unwilling to go to the vaulted side), the exterminator convinced me I had a pest problem that I didn't. Despite their "30 day guarantee" they would not refund my money one week later for their exterminator being incorrect . A very unprofessional company.
