I’m hesitant to write this, but people need to know what they’re really getting with Jersey Shore Crawl Space. I’ve been a loyal customer for six years—on a fixed monthly program that’s supposed to cover inspections and peace of mind. The techs who actually show up? Fantastic. Always respectful, helpful, and professional. The problem? The salespeople. Not all office staff are bad, but the salespeople are a nightmare. Money-grubbing, pushy, and clearly trying to squeeze every possible dollar from customers, even loyal ones. Case in point: recently, a GFCI for my sump pump and dehumidifier kept tripping. JSCP techs said I needed an electrical upgrade and separate circuits. Fine. They recommended an electrician—Bayard was amazing, handled everything perfectly. But the pump itself was bad. And don’t let them respond with their usual silliness like “please reach out to us to understand the situation.” They love posting that on Google reviews, pretending it makes them transparent. Translation: “We’ll try to sweep this under the rug and confuse you with corporate speak.” Don’t fall for it. Here’s where it gets absurd: JSCP tried to charge me $1,000 for labor and installation of a $275 pump, based entirely on their mistaken diagnosis. SIX YEARS of loyalty, and their “solution” would have cost me a fortune for something I swapped myself in 30 minutes. They even threw in a “$99 discount” as if that somehow makes it reasonable. Laughable. Then they wanted $150 to change a $30 filter on my dehumidifier. TWO minutes of work. Their response? “Well, that’s how much it costs to install.” LMAO. This is no longer about service—it’s about ripping people off. Let me be clear: the techs are excellent. The salespeople? Predatory, clueless, and disrespectful. Loyalty and logic mean nothing here. My warning to anyone considering this company: research everything, double-check every charge, and don’t blindly trust them with your money.

Fair warning on the homeowner's part, read the contract there so eager to get you to sign so you can get an appointment with them. I should have had this company Come out and do an evaluation in front of me instead of what I was told by John. I feel I paid $1100. for a top ground closure for the crawl space entrance, that I cannot use because the foundation is rotted, but they neglected to tell me that because we had a contract that stated they would do the best they could with what they had when I was told by John it would be squared up so the lid would fit. And if there was an issue, I would be called. So after the fact now, they're telling me It doesn't fit because the foundation is rotted, but I have to pay for it anyway because I signed the contract. I was taken for a ride by this company, especially because I trusted them too quick and too easily. The biggest part of this is the contract was done by email. It should have been printed out and brought to me and I should have read it better than I did. So now I have a lid that lets in the mice and the snakes and everything else. It serves a small purpose, Maybe the rain won't get in there anymore. But it is what it is. It's paid for. It's got gaps all over it. Therefore, I do not recommend this company to anybody. Update I won a judgment in court for them to return my money, And so far a month later, and they have not paid the judgements and mind you that has been court ordered.

To keep a long story short had work quoted from jersey shore a few times. 2023 (home purchase inspection) 2024 quote Crawl space at the same home they inspected in 2023. 2024 things came up and I couldn’t have the work done. Fast forward to November 2025. Ian an employee of jersey shore crawl space came back out to give me a price to have work done. I had 3 other companies come and quote me for the work, they came in at the highest price which is fine. Ian was very pushy in trying to get me to sign a contract to “hold” a spot on the schedule for 2025 since year was coming to an end. I did want the work done in 2025 for the energy efficient tax credit. This being said he went on about how I have 3 days to cancel etc. I just simply didn’t feel comfortable signing, regardless he claims he held the “spot on the schedule” great. About a week later Dave the director of ops reached out to me to see where I stood about getting the work done I was honest with him that the price was very high and that I wasn’t totally comfortable with how pushy Ian was. He understood. He was very professional and even offered to come inspect the work if another company had done it to make sure it was done properly. End of conversation, I did not Plan on hearing back from them any further at that point. Fast-forward to this past Monday November 24th 2025 I received a call from Ian asking the same thing and I basically told him that I spoke to David and that appreciate him coming out, but I ultimately went with a different company Before the words could finish coming out of my mouth, Ian was extremely aggressive claiming that multiple people including his boss Dave said it was a waste of his time coming to my house cause I had previously gotten a price from them and decided not to do the work again circumstances outside of my control in 2024 I politely tried to end the phone call multiple times to which I was met with extreme resistance, name-calling, yelling, mocking and sheer unprofessionalism. At one point, I looked at my phone in disbelief that I was hearing what I was hearing he began to get even more aggressive on the phone, mocking me, and laughing, at that point this felt personal as if I had taken money out of his pocket, which if they’re on a commission based pay scale, I understand the frustration, but that does not excuse The manner in which she spoke to me. For the sake of this review, not being flagged, I will not allude to what exactly was said, but it was mean, nasty, unprofessional, and aggressive. Ultimately, I had to file a police report about Ian because my wife is often home alone and at this Point you never know with people These days. He knows where I live and clearly has an issue with me based on the conversation. TRPD has record of this and plans to take the next steps in handling the situation. Consider this a warning to make sure you feel comfortable with the person they are sending to your house hopefully for the community sake this is just the one upset individual and not a reflection of the entire company, but I felt necessary to post this here to warn others.

I have used Jersey Shore Crawlspace for years to maintain my crawlspace. They have rehabilitated damaged wood joists, installed moisture barriers, and installed a commercial sized dehumidifier as well as done pest control. I particularly like that they send me photos of their work before and after completion because they know a customer does not want to go in the crawlspace.

When I bought my house I needed a crawlspace door and entrance well cover. Only thing protecting crawlspace was a makeshift wooden bulk head door that was deteriorated. After months of thinking “how can i fix this?” To save money, I called a company. This company. Quoted $1600 for both, $500 for the door and $1100 for the cover requiring half down. Two guys came out and fabricated it all. The foundation door came out decent. The cover looked like I got Joe Blow down the street looking for a couple bucks to build me one. The cuts were uneven, not straight. The two handles were installed towards the front and were crooked. The front board had a F up cut on the corner so when the top board was screwed down, it bent the board on the corner. They white siliconed a single screw out of all. And it was ridiculously heavy due to the use of treated lumber, which i understood being in contact with the concrete blocks. Designed to be picked up and put to the side. By pick up the cover, i mean pick up the front and drag it somewhere. I called and complained stating the craftsmanship was very poor and unprofessional looking. I didn’t know what to expect but what I expect is it not to look like Joe Blow down the street with zero experience to build me one. Showed them all the pictures I took showing the complaints. The response I got was “this is pretty standard for us”. They gave me the option to have it redone or they can take the door. But told me that the new door would pretty much look the same. I said take door cuz this crap job isn’t worth $1600 in total. After a week, I noticed the caulking they used dripped leaving an opening and Since I paid half down and only kept the crawlspace door, a phone call was needed. I wasn’t thrilled with their work and wanted to be done with them. I requested the $300 difference in work to be refunded as I kept the door ($500) but not the cover ($1100). They felt since they built it and i wasn’t happy with the work and used extra time/resources to pick it up, a refund was declined. Showed them the current issue with their door as it is now, dripped caulking leaving an opening and no seal on the door as per the contract warranted a refund. No response. I would never recommend this company for any work to anyone. Poor communication/response. Poor craftsmanship. Unprofessional quality.

Provider response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations, and we understand how important it is for customers to feel confident in the work done on their home.

We do want to provide clarification for anyone reading this, as the photos you provided and the details of the job are important. The entrance cover we built was structurally sound, fully functional, and constructed to industry standards for exterior crawlspace well covers. The concerns you raised were limited to minor cosmetic details — small gaps and slight variations in cuts — not issues that affected stability or performance. We, too, expect clean cuts and symmetry but recognize that at times we may have to return to perfect. Even so, we immediately offered to rebuild the cover at no charge or remove it entirely if you preferred, which is well beyond what most companies would do.

When you requested removal, our team returned, uninstalled the cover, and absorbed the labor and material costs of that process. Because the door itself was installed properly and you chose to keep it, the deposit already reflected the value of the retained work.

We also reviewed your concerns about caulking. The photos showed a small drip that could be touched up easily, but again, we offered solutions. We were never unwilling to correct workmanship — we simply could not provide a refund for custom-built materials that were declined after being fabricated.

We regret that this interaction left you feeling dissatisfied, but we did take every reasonable step to address your concerns promptly and professionally. Should you ever wish to revisit options for completing the crawlspace well in the future, we remain available to help.

I had an old and rusty metal door covering my access to the crawlspace. Jersey Shore came out, scoped it out & provided pictures and quotes on replacement. They also did a crawl through and provided a quote for some insulation and additional work. They built (2) custom entrance doors, removed the old door, and did a stellar installation at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them for any crawlspace work that you may need. I plan on using them for some additional work in the near future.

We purchased a home Brick NJ one year ago with a finished basement, a Crawlspace and that funky smell. We did our research and chose Jersey Shore Crawlspace to remedy this situation. Very professional they evaluated everything down below utilizing their knowledge and specialized equipment. They delivered a full report of their findings along with a plan what needed be done to remedy this sick part of our home. We found their pricing reasonable for work required and they got to work. The crawlspace was cleaned, old insulation removed and replaced with rock wool insulation, the walls, joists, floor were sanitized, vents were sealed, and they installed a properly sized AprilAire Dehumidifier with its drain line to the exterior. The difference this has made to our home is amazing! No more funky odor; indoor air/humidity levels perfect! Customer service is A+. Our home maintains a healthy environment and we couldn’t be happier with the work they did for us. We made the right choice … great company, great to work with, great people!

Provider response

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! MY experience with nj crawlspace totally bad, those guys who came to my house before wasn't like this guy who came to my house today, 7/18/25 He was so rude and arrogant, Too bossy talking over you without No Let you explaining yourself. Besides he not ready to do anything. This office was the one who called me for evaluation, on is way coming to my house, he called me asked me what he can do for me, l was shocked 😲! He opened my crawlspace door without even go inside, he doesn't know l was his back, he said! He want to make sure l dont have animals, l dont own pet. My house has gate, l believe he not ready to go inn , well! His attitude is very bad. Yelling talks over you. Crazy people.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear that the interaction left you feeling uncomfortable — that is never our intention.

It sounds like there may have been a misunderstanding during the pre-arrival call and the evaluation. Our team reaches out on the way to the home to confirm the concerns and the conditions they’ll be walking into so they can be properly prepared. This helps ensure the visit is safe, efficient, and productive for the homeowner.

Similarly, our evaluators take certain precautions before entering a crawlspace — including checking for animals or safety hazards — which is a standard part of our process. This is done to protect both the homeowner’s property and the technician performing the inspection.

That said, the way this was communicated clearly did not meet your expectations, and we sincerely apologize if the conversation felt rushed, dismissive, or disrespectful in any way. The two men that came to install my crawlspace door did an amazing job. Professional, skilled, and in and out so fast! It's not an exciting job to do, but the new door is the perfect replacement for my old rotting wooden one. Near the end of the job it started raining and the guys stayed until the job was done, even cleaned up the wood pieces because they knew we had dogs. We tipped them extra for their kindness and the rain. Would highly recommend and will be calling Jersey Shore Crawlspace again when needed!

We as many others contracted with Jersey Crawl Space based on the many positive reviews. We had completely new insulation installed, vapor barrier and new vents. For the initial install things went smoothly, and work was completed on time. After our first inspection we were told we need a dehumidifier (another 3000) and may have a mouse problem as there were droppings on the new barrier. We never had a rodent problem and asked the tech how would they get in. So he indicated we should have sealed the vents. So we questioned why wouldn't you seal new vents, he indicated that was an additional charge. We also did not get the dehumidifier. We checked periodically and did not see any new droppings. We waited until our next inspection, the tech arrived and indicated we have a major problem. He said "I thought I was going to tell you you need a dehumidifier, but there is no humidity but you have a "major" rodent problem. There are droppings and I pulled down the insulation above the droppings and there were more and a hole in the insulation indicating a mouse had burrowed there". Asking our options, he said we can exterminate, sanitize and replace the insulation where they burrowed, you also might consider removing all the insulation and redoing it as they could be anywhere in the insulation and it will be a bigger problem. We chose full removal and signed the contract. (an additional 3700.00 dollars after we just spent 7000.00) After speaking with several people they said there was no need to remove all of it, just where there was a problem. So we requested (after the 3 day cancellation policy limit), if we could please modify the contract and just replace the insulation where there is a problem. We also already gave a 900.00 deposit. We were told we could not cancel and if we try to cancel the contract we are liable for the full amount with no work done, and lose the deposit. While I understand it was after the 3 day cancellation policy, we were not looking to cancel but too modify. Again we were told no. So, it is apparent there is no customer service with this company, after just spending 7000.00, it shows that money is their first priority and not having satisfied customers. So be aware, there is always an upsell for product as noted by another review, so just be cautious and take your time before agreeing to any work.

August 2022. Beware! Scammers. Awful. GO WITH MASTER ATTIC LLC INSTEAD! This dreadful excuse for a company took 3 appointments over 3 months to install 900sqft of insulation. Applied foam boards that don’t belong on rooves. They admitted to drastically underestimating the project. Didn’t apply baffles, showed sloppy installation and they NAILED INTO MY ROOF! They refused to insulate the attic walls, left several large areas bare, and had terrible scheduling management who forgot we had an appt on june13th! Said they would be done in one day (june30) and weren’t. Said they’d be done on the second day (july23) but they weren’t. On the third day (aug12) they claimed they were finished but clearly weren’t. Management ghosted us. Didn’t care about my satisfaction. Charged my credit card without my approval.

I called to have bugs removed I was talked into $2600 worth of work . I signed what I thought was for my credit card deposit but it turned out it was a contract which was never communicated to me. They then said they could not come for 2 months REALLY!!! I needed to get rid of crickets Total scam. Live and learn. Refused to give me my money back.

Provider response

Ms. Mcelroy,
A contract was signed by you the day our technician came out to perform the evaluation of your home. His findings uncovered items that were outside of your original expectations however these matters were explained and agreed upon to address. Our contract was mutually signed and delivered to your email at the time of signing. We understand that you had located a company that could come out sooner following contracting our company to perform the work on your behalf outside of the cancellation window. We had offered to expedite the pest control portion of your work to accommodate the situation at hand for no additional cost, which you had declined. Materials had been purchased on your behalf and our staff had taken the time to prepare your installation which occupied space on our production calendar which could have been allotted to another customer. We would be happy to work with you to arrive at an amicable resolution. We are a family owned company, lost time and movement in matters such as this carry a significant cost. We would be happy to discuss the matter further and work towards an amicable resolution. Please email sales@jerseyshorecrawlspace.com and we would be happy to schedule a time to discuss.
Best regards,
Jersey Shore Crawlspace

I hired them to perform mold remediation work in my crawlspace. After they completed the work I brought in an independent mold expert who reviewed the work and performed air quality testing. The expert stated that very little work had been performed and not nearly enough to remediate a mold problem. The air quality testing supported that claim as the mold spore count in my crawlspace was 30 times higher than the outside air. As I become more educated on mold I realized they do not know about mold remediation. They did not attempt to clean the air or ground of mold spores despite the fact that I informed them all members of family are allergic to mold. After corresponding with the company about my problem several times they have stopped responding. DO NOT HIRE THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE SATISFIED. And when you are not they will just ignore you. Your retort is incorrect. I asked you to come back to the larger crawlspace and you refused to stand by your work (or lack of). The smaller crawlspace did not have any mold as verified by an independent mold company. Additionally, it was not a significant amount of time, perhaps a month or 2. This is the level of service you will expect. They will not do the work and when you call them out on it they blame you for some other thing that is not related to the work they did not perform. Awful company just out to rip off people in need.

Provider response

Mr. Kerfoot,
At the time of evaluation, it was brought to your attention, of a large portion of your crawlspace being inaccessible (with a height from floor to joists of around 6"). At the time, we had provided recommendations to create access into this location, this as a means to provide a complete treatment of the crawlspace, which was declined, limiting our treatment to the accessible areas within the crawlspace. A significant time had passed following our treatment when you had contacted our staff regarding issues. We had made every effort to resolve the circumstances amicably. This was completed in good faith, with the circumstances of your crawlspace height being out of our control, and being further limited by the inaccessible crawlspace. We hope the best for you and your family. Please feel free to contact us anytime should you wish to revisit this with us and devise an adequate resolution.

They encapsulated my crawlspace three years ago I just had another company here because since they did my house I have had nothing but water inside my crawl space their work is the shoddiest I've ever seen. No caulked joints all they did was put down ploy a little heavier mill maybe 12 grade. They installed a dehumidifier. I would not recommend them at all. According to the company I am using now the difference in the systems is night and day the new one includes sump pumps and will be so tight and dry I will not need any other insulation under my house at all. Do not hire this company thise pictures on this website are nothing like the finished product you will get. Stay away.

Provider response

Mr. Mc Gonigle, when our company initially came out in May of 2017, you were presented with a number of options regarding the installation.

At that time, you were presented with drainage options that were declined, by you. The contracted items were performed and of great quality. The completion photos depict the 12 Mil String Reinforced Vapor Barrier installation was done and well, this along with the other items you had us perform.

In February of 2020 you had us back out to the property, and there were signs of water getting into the crawlspace. Our technician again recommended drainage options to you and even extended an offer to retreat the mold-like substance at no charge should they have been pursued. This was offered, even though you were out of warranty due to declining our inspections that are provided at no charge following the installation performed in 2017. You then profanely went after our technician and had him leave your property.

In consideration of future work, it is advised by standards in building science to insulate the crawlspace, whether by means of insulating the foundation or "ceiling" of the crawlspace. You should too look to incorporate drainage matting, and install vent wells in front of the vents located near grade, as originally advised by our company to further mitigate the moisture issues present at your home.

Regardless of all the circumstances outlined above, we wish you the best in future endeavors.

We hired this company to remediate our mold issues. Please do yourself a favor and don’t use them . One tech came to our house with a broken orchard sprayer. When the independent inspector came his results showed an actual increase in mold in our attic. This happened twice. We’ve asked for a refund and have heard nothing. I am very disappointed in this company and say turn the page , don’t waste your money like we did.

Provider response

We make every effort to satisfy each and every customer we work with. After successfully addressing the crawlspace, we were just as surprised to find issue within the attic as reported. When this was brought to our attention, our staff communicated to you that we will work with you to resolve these circumstances.
During this process we have provided updates regarding the desired resolution and the need for our team to review the documents provided by your inspector. You can expect a call by end of business today to finalize a resolution.
