I had squirrels and mice setting up house in my attic and Michigan basement. After reading reviews and calling around, I hired Mr. Hoke and I highly recommend him. He is very knowledgeable, thorough, explained everything he needed to do and answered my many questions. He also showed great concern with traps because I have a dog. Mr. Hoke worked with a reasonable payment plan that I'm certain none of the "big corporations" would've allowed. He is also very professional, dependable, and let's me know exactly when he'll arrive and is a man of integrity. I wouldn't hesitate to call him for any pest problems you may have. Jerry does great work and has always been prompt with his appointment times. Have used him several times, for carpenter bees and carpenter ants, and both were eliminated. For today’s appointment, he was running a few minutes late and let me know via text his ETA—just terrific communication. He also guarantees his work and will return if the problem persists. Excellent service and very pleased the two times I needed his expertise.

DISHONEST man running a dishonest company. He lied to us, and our tenants, after hiring him to remove squirrels from a rental property we own (we live out of town). He never set any traps, which we have proof of on video (from our tenants) and then lied about coming to the property to perform the scheduled services. After this was discovered on our end, we did confront him about this- he did admit to these things (we have this via text, I can provide screenshot) and refunded us $150 (as he said he would refund us in full but asked if he could do it in $150 increments every 2 weeks, because he "didnt have the money"). We obliged. We havent received any other refund. We reported him to BBB. I will leave a negative review on every service possible because this was such horrible service. He attempted taking advantage of us because we lived out of town. Unless you want to be scammed out of your money for a service he will NEVER provide, go elsewhere.

Good afternoon, Jennifer. We apologise for any inconvenience that we may have caused. That is not how we provide our services. However, we had taken pictures of a few of the Live-Traps that we set up on your property, free of charge. Which we should have charged you for that well. But, we were trying to get the job done despite issues with the tenants. If you remember correctly, we were having issues with the tenants blocking us from entering the attic and crawlspace. Which was the reason why your husband meet us at the rental property. In addition, you also scheduled a Roofing Contractor to work on the roof during our service period. When we got there, your husband demanded a full refund, for two reasons. One reason was due to the Roofing Contractor, we couldn't set traps on the roof any further until the work was completed. Mind you, We only had three days left out of our three week period. Your tenants had also moved our traps, and blocked us in from the attic when we were there. We told your husband that we weren't going to give you a refund due to your tenants stealing/moving our traps, and you had also knowingly scheduled Roof Work during our contracted service period. However, at that point, we no longer desired to have you as a client. So, we refunded you the $150 for those last three days. Regarding the BBB complaint, we had shown proof that went against your falsified allegations. They closed the complaint. We're also going to show Google proof that directly goes against your allegations on here as well. We never tried to take advantage of you due to your location. We went out of our way to accommodate your husband when we scheduled that appointment to meet us at your rental property to figure out what was going on regarding your tenants. Have a wonderful day. Scenario: Day 2 in our new brand new house and suddenly... BATS. 🦇 Needless to say, we had to find someone fast and after calling about 10 pest control places and being very discouraged by the price and multiple-month lead time, I was ready to accept my new roommates. Until I called Jerry from Hoke Pest Control. From the start, Jerry walked me through exactly what was needed to remedy the situation, outlined the costs (much more reasonable than any other “big guy” exterminator) and planned to come out the next day. My mind was already at ease. We are now, BAT FREE! I can recommend Hoke HIGHLY as they have: - ALWAYS been on time - Upfront & Professional - Works with us on a no-pressure payment plan - Courteous, thorough and extremely knowledgeable. The pest control specialist that came out to my home was extremely knowledgeable about the pest in my home(carpenter ants & common brown ants). He applied the treatment and explained what was in the chemical and that it was safe to use in our home. I haven't seen an ant since he treated our homes. We had some pest issues in the attic of a property we just purchased. Due to the problem, which had clearly been ongoing for years, we also needed to remove the insulation as there was bat, mouse and squirrel droppings all over. We got a quote which we couldn't afford. We communicated with them that the amount was too much for us and that we would do as much of the removal as possible ourselves and call them to come finish. When we had removed about 80-90% of the insulation we called back and they returned to remove the last bits of the insulation and all the droppings. However, when we received our invoice it was for even more money than the amount they originally estimated it would cost. As a business owner myself, that's just bad business practices to not call and check when you know you’re going over your estimate that we clearly communicated we couldn’t afford. When they were getting even remotely close to the original quote, which we told them we couldn't afford, they should have called. They didn't and now we have to pay a bill that we didn't have the money for in the first place. Even still, we are going to pay the invoice in full as we practice honoring our word but now we have to cancel other projects that we needed to get done. We could have easily rearranged or postponed the attic work if they had thought to communicate with us. The only reason I'm giving this 2-stars is that I don’t wish to diminish in any way the quality of the work that was done. The work was good but clearly our bottom line was not taken into consideration and a simple phone call would have solved this issue.

I understood that you supposedly had money issues, you still contracted me and accepted my quote. From my understanding, you guys saved up the funds for your attic restoration project. I also have disclosed to you through text, email, over the phone, and in person that I offer payment plans that are in-house and no interest. So, I didn't force you to pay the entire amount upfront. I'm just a local family man who operates a Pest Control and Nuisance Wildlife Removal Company. I actually was a student of your Co-Owner. To be honest, I am one of the few people who offer payment plans in my industry, and I have been burned quite a bit. However, I have never went after anyone for non-payment. I work with people. I do care about my clientele and their bottomline. I actually did stop after 10 hours. Yes, I went over by two hours. However, my quote stated that times may vary. Your bill was $1,500. It was only $300 more than the quote was. I thought that you would have cared more about the attic being cleaned out instead of an extra $300. Which, I would have taken that off of the bill if you have talked to me about your issues, before you decided be passive aggressive and give me this review. My first day, I was there for 7 hours. The second day I was there for 3 hours. I stopped, because I found a hidden room in the attic that wasn't included in the original quote. You didn't know of this room either until I told you about it. I talked to you in person about everything. After you said that you couldn't afford that extra area in the attic, we stopped our project. I even offered to exclude most of the new entry points that were revealed after removing insulation, because of your supposed money issue after I did the 10 hours of work [free of charge]. There is a reason why you called me to do it instead of you finishing it by yourself. I was covered in Bird, Bat, Mice, Squirrel, and Chipmunk fecal matter and urine from head to toe doing this project for you. I was in that attic for 10 hours, which was extremely hot and hard to breathe in because I also had to wear a full body suite and a gas mask. Also, any other company would have charged you at least $3,000 more than what I charged. I doubt that I seriously hindered any of your projects over the extra $300. Please, next time be honest and upfront to someone in person instead of lying to their face and making a review about it. If the money was a huge issue, we could have worked something out. However, you didn't talk to me about your actual issue and you paid the bill in full. Nevertheless, I will always be here for you if you ever need anything further. Despite everything, you still helped me put food on the table for my family. Thank you for your business.

Great company, you can really tell this local company cares about it's clients. I was with terminex before but after a few bad experiences I decided to cancel my service with them, but Hoke Pest Control really cares about their customers and even followed up to make sure my treatments were working. Great Job I'll be sticking with Hoke for all my pest removal needs.
