I saw significant improvement in my lawn the first year I used them and initially gave them 5 stars after the first year. Even though I have had my frustrations since they still do a great job with my lawn when all ares are covered. I was going to try another company, but don’t want to risk my lawn to decline. Their treatments work. My long time frustration is the lack of flexibility in being able to commit to a “special” service date and only giving a day before notice. All they ever say is sometime in the next couple of weeks. My technician is very messy and when I asked for him to blow off the excess chemicals from the driveway and sidewalks…I always had to redo it myself or hose it off. Sad part is that the equipment is designed to not create a mess if used properly. This was explained to me by a stand in employee who did a fantastic job of covering the entire area of grass and missing all the areas that didn’t have grass. There was no clean up involved and I could see that all areas were covered. Prepay is not a good idea due them keeping 10% of the charges if you don’t know if you will use all the treatments.

This was our first year trying My Fertilizing Company with high hopes. The year seemed to start off okay. However about mid year, one of their fertilizing machines apparently had a malfunction, chemically burning sections of my front lawn and big sections in my backyard. I called management to have them send out a tech. That tech confirmed it was chemically burned. They said they would fix this issue with numerous follow ups to remove any excessive fertilizer from those areas and re-seed them. NO one ever followed up with the exception of the regularly scheduled service. I personally saw no gypsum or seed placed in the burnt areas like they said they were going to do to fix the issue. I also had an issue with some creeping weeds they said they would get rid of but those persisted and did spread further. The only plus was that their was no grubs this year.

The tech confirmed there was turf burn in some sections, and we truly regret that you experienced that. At the same time, our notes show there were also signs of insect activity and that the damaged areas weren’t getting quite enough water, which unfortunately slowed down the recovery and allowed some of those creeping weeds to spread.<br><br>That said, it’s our job to communicate clearly and follow through, and it’s clear from your experience that we fell short of your expectations on that front. We had even offered a discounted rate for 2026 to try to make this right and keep earning your business, but I completely understand your frustration given how the season felt from your side.<br><br>Thank you again for the feedback – we do take it seriously, and we’ll use it to improve how we communicate and follow up going forward.
This company, I have been with for a few seasons. They have improved my lawn. They let you know when they're coming out and who will be doing the lawn care. The same gentleman comes out every time I've never had a different person. He gives a summary of your lawn to you. By email. If you want to fix a problem, you just let them know. They have been the best company that I have had for my lawn.

My lawn fertilization services from, "My Fertilizing Company" based in Livonia, Michigan have been outstanding throughout 2025. I recently signed an agreement with them after multiple competitive lawn care companies neglected to fulfill their commitments regarding services and scheduling. Customer Service rep, Brianna Stevens is always focused on customer satisfaction and she promptly responds to my phone calls. Brianna is a pleasure to work with and her colleague, Hailey is equally responsive and they both strive for successful and happy customers. Many thanks to the entire team at My Fertilizing Company including service technician, Brandon Nelson who consistently shows up as promised and applies the granular fertilizer evenly and efficiently. I wanted to write this review about the technician that visited in August. His name is Brandon Nelson. Our lawn was not looking its best and I stopped him to ask his advice. He was friendly, patient, and very knowledgeable. He explained what the problem was and how we could solve it. I appreciated his professionalism and willingness to take the time to discuss the problem and share his knowledge with me. I followed up with Hailey in the office and she assured me that the problem would be taken care of.

MY LAWN IS COMPLETELY BURNED. I regret signing up with My Fertilizing Company this year. Last year was fine, but this season has been a mess from start to finish. My lawn was full of weeds despite treatments, their crew ripped up my grass with a zero-turn mower, and after the last application my yard ended up with fertilizer burn. They even sent someone to “fix it” and only made things worse. When I complained, all I got were excuses — weather, “wet grass” (even though my sprinklers were off 24 hours before and it hadn’t rained), or being told “we’re just seeing more weeds this year.” That’s not my issue — I hire a lawn company to prevent exactly that. Now I’m left paying another company to bring in topsoil and overseed just to repair the damage. My lawn looks worse than before I ever hired them. Save your money and stress — go with someone else.

That’s not the experience we want for any client.<br><br>For transparency, here’s what we did and why:<br>• In June, our technician noted the lawn was being trimmed too short and showing early signs of heat stress.<br>• After your report of burn, we applied a free gypsum application to help flush salts and ease stress.<br>• During our August visit we also found active insect damage and recommended an insecticide.<br>• When you let us know a month later that things still hadn’t rebounded, I offered a complimentary liquid fall aeration and overseeding to speed recovery. That wasn’t meant as an upsell—just the quickest path to repair when stress and insect pressure both play a role.<br><br>We know how discouraging it can be when a lawn struggles despite treatments, and that’s why we always aim to share what we’re seeing and provide options to help it recover as quickly as possible.
It's a shame you can't get one service without having to sign up for a different added service, bad way to get additional service , without seeing what you get with having a single service first to see the quality first hand.

We understand your concern, and I’d like to explain why we operate this way. Aerations are a time-sensitive service, and we only have a limited window each season to complete them. Because of that, we prioritize the clients who are already committed to a program with us, as well as future clients who sign up.<br><br>In the past, we did offer stand-alone aerations. Unfortunately, many of those lawns weren’t being maintained consistently. That often led to disappointed homeowners asking us to come back and do extra work at no charge—work that really resulted from a lack of regular maintenance, not from the aeration itself.<br><br>By focusing on program clients, we’re able to stand behind our results, provide consistent care, and make sure the investment in aeration actually delivers the benefits it should.
Two years using this service. Weeds, crab grass and grubs out of control! Lawn has never looked worse using them. Technicians refuse to get off their motorized fertilizer machine to get to areas that need to be accessed on foot.

When I first got a call from the company, I spoke with Hailey. She was amazing—very knowledgeable, friendly, and helped me set up a custom plan for my lawn. She even followed up later to help me add core aeration for mid-August, which showed me they really pay attention to detail. Today, Brett came out to do the service. He did everything I asked, was in and out quickly, and left clear and detailed notes about what he did, what to expect next, and what he recommends moving forward. After reading the notes, I had a couple questions, so I called in and spoke with Brianna. She took the time to explain everything clearly and let me know that if I still need weed control in the coming weeks, they’re more than happy to come back out—especially since we’re prepping the lawn for core aeration. Hailey, Brett, and Brianna were all fantastic to work with. Great communication, great service, and a team that actually cares. Highly recommend.

Troy was amazing! Took the time and care to remove the bowl from the birdbath while spraying and then put it back. He also looked at the boxwood bushes in front which had been sprayed in the spring and they are doing wonderful.

Unfortunately this is a disgruntled employee who was laid off. Too bad she is burning bridges.
Do not use this company. Since I've been using them the weeds are taking over my lawn. Unless you buy all the add ons they offer every time, the service sucks.
Saw several signs for this company in my neighborhood took 2 weeks for them to get back to me with a quote very unprofessional. Don't post your signs if you can't contact people. When I did get the quote they were very high compared to other companies. I did go with another company that responded right away and I've already had my first application down before this company even responded.

Call them to do aeration. "No, we are doing aeration only as bundle with other services". Also they did trashed my subdivision with their advertisement flyers. Salesman knocking doorss at 8 am

The reason we do not offer one time services, such as core aeration, to clients without lawn care programs is simply because we would not be able to guarantee or monitor the results through out the season. Worst service ever!!!! First of all, dandelions still grows after the treatment and second I paid extra for tick prevention but still found tick from by back yard. What’s the point of hiring professional if they can’t do their job right? To owner, Please check the photos, not your company? I canceled your service in 2019 because I saw ticks in 2018 and dandelions but didn’t know that you guys automatically renew the service. And never see the recommendations either. If your company was great, I would’ve never cancelled my service.

Hi Sophia<br>I am not sure if you have the correct company. We only performed 1 fertilizing and weed control service in 2019. You cancelled service on 4.30.19. We never even put a Flea & Tick application down this year which would explain why you have ticks on your lawn.<br><br>Looking back at 2018 records, our technicians made suggestions to help improve overall health of the lawn, but you never requested to have the services done. We also let you know that the lawn was not getting cut often enough and when it was being mowed, it was mowed too short...
