Thank you for the kind words, Larry! We appreciate your support!
The lady who answered the phone was not helpful .She would talk over me. She had a wrong email address. I had no idea when the bat people were coming out. she told me they couldn’t come out in the winter ,so I waited over two month .then they show up randomly when there’s 5 inches of snow on the ground. They walk around my house and then leave. I have no idea what they did .

Hi Stephanie, Thank you for your feedback. We take concerns like this seriously and want to clarify a few points.

Our team did come out to your property and accessed the roof to resecure the ridge vent, which was the area of concern. The work was completed during that visit.

Regarding scheduling, we do operate year-round. There was one instance where we informed you we could not come out due to unsafe weather and road conditions. That was a temporary delay, not a seasonal shutdown. At the time of service, there was not five inches of snow on the ground.

As for communication, the email address we had on file is the same one provided at the start of service last year, and we have continued using that contact information consistently. This has been updated since our previous conversation

We are always willing to review the work performed and answer any outstanding questions. Please feel free to contact our office directly so we can ensure everything has been properly addressed to your satisfaction.

Amber, Thank you for the 5 star review!
Beware! $1500 dollars and I end up doing their job myself!!! A rip off. Their main technician told my tenant that I didn't want to expend the money by taking a hole deck down!!!! Who in their rigth mind will take the hole deck down to be able to inspect a wall in a side??? (I build homes too...So I let it go and explained to my tenant only some boards needed to be removed to inspect that wall, and this, only was going to be necessary if we were able to determine that the other areas were under control and the ptoblem was continuing) More so, the same technician said he was going to cover the entries that they found only, (I had another comany coming previously) and, if I wanted those other possible areas covered, they were going to charge me more!!!.( The cover it's spray foam only, somenthing any body can buy, no mesh or anything. In my case, The squirrels keep on coming thru the same area were the technitian put a one entry tunel made from wire mesh (technitian explained that, they do the tunel, hand made, so animals can leave and not reenter, after a couple of weeks when there is no more animals, they cover the holes with spray foam) I was furious seing that animals were still uding the same arwa, and I had enough with the inefficiency of the tunnel, the service and the throwing $1500 for nothing!!! Realizing that the entry was still available some how, I bougth an inspection mirror with a ligth and got in the floor myself trying to find out, what the problem was with my own eyes, I discovered that the gap was about 24+inches, and, the technician never buder covering the hole area where the gap was, so squirrels kept on using the rest of the gap instead of using the one entry tunnel about 1 inch, hand made with wire mesh, so my problem was never fixed or under control, moreover they were probably going to charge more money claiming there were more entries... If you want to waste $1500 on a inexcusable bad service, call them. 23 years expirience here as Realtor and in construction, what they are doing to their customers IS NOT RIGTH, I SHALL GET MY MONEY BACK.

Hi Carmela,

We’re disappointed to see this review, as it’s not an accurate reflection of the service we provided. Our technician completed the work exactly as agreed upon in the signed service plan. The additional areas you’re referring to were outside of the original quoted scope, and that was clearly explained at the time of service.

After your initial call with concerns, we immediately offered to send a different technician to reinspect the property—nearly five months ago. You never returned our call to schedule that appointment. We’re still happy to come out and take a look if you’d like.

It’s also worth mentioning that we completed work for you in 2023, and you expressed how satisfied you were with our work and professionalism. Nothing about our standards or process has changed since then.

Our exclusion work meets industry standards, and any continued animal activity typically occurs from new or uncovered areas not included in the original scope. We stand by our work and our transparency.

Please reach out to our office directly if you’d like to review the documentation or schedule that follow-up visit.

— The My Critter Guy Team
Not too impressed. They came out and put one bat access door on a part of the roof that didn't have any access where they showed me the bats were. When I called the tech out on it, he made me feel like I was wrong and I was causing him extra work. $2K+ is a lot to pay for them not to get it right.
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
After the work was completed, our technician walked around the home with you and reviewed the job. At that time, you expressed that you were satisfied. About an hour and a half later, you contacted us with concerns about the placement of the doors. We responded within five minutes and had both our inspector and technician reviewing the job. Within 15–20 minutes of your call, our technician was back at your home to walk through the work with you. He explained why the exclusion was completed in that manner and, to ease your mind, also agreed to install two additional doors.

We’re sorry to hear you feel this experience was only worth a 1-star review, especially given our prompt response and willingness to accommodate your requests. If you have any future questions, please reach us directly at 248-403-8167.
I don’t know how to rate the service when no one comes to talk to us to let us know they were here, what they found or did, any suggestions they might have etc. Yes they’ve gone to talk to our daughter after their visit, but she can’t even remember what was said over the dogs barking so loud. I don’t even know why the service man goes and talks to our daughter about it when we are the ones paying the bill. It makes no sense; and we have no dogs to interrupt us. So maybe your company will want to consider these things in the future if it wants better ratings.
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Thank you for your feedback. We’re sorry that you feel this way. We want to clarify that our standard protocol is to make contact at the front door of every home, as we did during our visit. If you prefer our technician to use a different entrance or contact you directly, please notify us beforehand so we can accommodate your preference.

We apologize if you could not call us first and instead went directly online. Please remember that we are always available to discuss any of your concerns, as we have been in the past.

Additionally, please feel free to come outside when you receive our notification about our arrival and the start of the job. We are happy to review all the work to be completed before and after completion.

We appreciate your feedback and the opportunity to improve our service.
Hired bat guy for over 2000.00. Never made any difference in the bats. Put something on roof to let them out but not in. obviously they were getting in somewhere else. Didn’t want to come in winter because of icy roof. By spring my “warranty” was up. Total waste of money. Hired leaf guard to do my gutters. Found a hole, took care of it and haven’t had a bat since. Do not hire this company!
This is my second stint with My Bat Guy. The first time they observed bat activity in our home and sealed our home, installed bat doors and never came back. We contacted them again, said there was bat activity, resealed the home, installed a bat door and didn't come back out until I called them. I made a request for them to review the attic of.my home. After the tech reviewed the attic and inspected the exterior.... his response was there is no recent activity and no bats in our attic. Yet he removed an old door and replaced it with new door????? Make sense????? I think not. Not happy with their service. Want answers.
Do not waste your money paying for the service. Spent $1800 . Still have bats, they do not show up to scheduled time, I can not take time off continuously to be here. They showed up for 20 min (I have security cameras) and they did nothing. No bat doors installed or caulking done for what the guy who came out Monday said they were going to do. If I could give 1/2 a star I would. I expect them to honor their 1 year warranty it has been 4 months and they still have not completed the "warranty" work. Not only that everytime I call no one ever answers the phone and rarely call back. We will no longer require the services from my bat guy. When I have to remove 1 more bat from my house, I will be calling a more reputable company. And yes Ron you called me a liar more than once yesterday. I tried to give a local company the benefit of the doubt with a few of the other negative reviews I found before hiring your company. Unfortunately the other reviews are true. Again good luck with your business but I do not think you will be gaining any other business from me or some of my neighbors in the area. There is no need to discuss anything with my husband on this issue because he is in full agreement with me, and it goes to show that you should think about how you talk to future clients, some of your workers are very polite maybe you should take some lessons from them.
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Hi Patty, I am very shocked to see this review. There is A LOT of false and miss leading comments in your review.

We have answered or called you back EVER TIME you have called. Sorry if we are busy and cannot respond when you call.

We have multiple hours logged on your project at your home. We have been out every time you requested.

We completed ALL services removing the bats and completely sealing your home. You then got new construction/roof, and you did not call to let us know. As in our contract that you signed, new construction voids our warranty. However, we still came back and did not charge you.

We have been very attentive to you. Being booked out for weeks, you called Friday, and we scheduled you this Monday to meet at your house to go over our work again.

Hopefully Monday, we can resolve this. Have a wonderful weekend, and I will see you Monday.
We called back due to now having birds in our attic after having bat doors installed and were treated with so much disrespect, I will now tell friends & family to avoid this company at all costs. I understand that our knowledge pales in comparison to the experts - however the way we were belittled was just appalling. After seeing his reply to another one star review, I can't say I am surprised by the lack of professionalism. Nobody should be made to feel that awful after paying over $1500 for a service - when the service wasn't up to what we thought was acceptable. Will gladly be taking our business elsewhere. REPLY: As WE STATED, we weren't satisfied with the job done and when we went to call, you couldn't have been more disrespectful. You can CLEARLY see where birds are getting in, proves to me that your team did NOT do the job correctly, but I'm sure you'll have an excuse for that too. I did some more digging on you Ron, and your company. I can promise you that we won't be calling you back. Even the way you hounded us for the second company we called was just so gross. These guys even went out of their way to give you the benefit of the doubt too. Look guy, I had a pleasant time meeting you when you came to the house the first time. I even told my wife that I was very impressed with you. But the good impressions stopped there. Even if you think you're correct here, you clearly have a dissatisfied customer, "belittling" (just you putting it in quotes proves my point) them isn't going to work out well for you or your company.
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Michael,
I am sorry you felt you had to come online and leave and negative review. During our phone conversation today, We tried to schedule a tech asap and look at how and why a bird got into your attic. As stated on the phone, the tech installed one-way doors at current entry/exit points, and ALL potential re-entry points were sealed back in December. We have MANY pictures of work completed at your home.

You had bats in your attic and mice in your basement at our initial inspection. No evidence of birds. Again that's why we wanted to re-inspect the exterior for you. to see how a bird gained access now.

It was explained to you and your wife when you approved to move forward with MY Bat Guy to remove your bats that due to the time of the season that the bats will not leave until spring, most likely, and the doors would remain up until spring. You understood that then and today.

Sorry if you felt "belittled" that was, and is never, my intention. I was trying to explain the process again to you and inform you and your wife how wildlife can get into your attic, and weather might have played a roll-on allowing a bird to gain access into your attic. That is why we need to schedule a re-inspection.

Unfortunately, you gave us no opportunity here. We are a professional company. Stand entirely behind our work. I believe our rating everywhere shows that. Yes, I will respond to the few one-star reviews. I will not be bullied and allow false statements about how things happened.

I hope you find the kindness to remove or update this review and call us to help you. We still stand behind our work.
I have to say I feel very ripped off! I paid $2,000 dollars the communication was terrible. I was home when they did the work 1 guy on my roof for 1:15 minutes! $2000 they used screen and caulk 2 months later I can see screen easily I don’t feel very good it will hold up to weather. They said my attic needs to have all insulation removed but I had to call 5 times to get that price. They wanted my insurance company before process if that changes things .They want over $10,000.00 to do the work the real cost was about $900 total with dumpster. I would not recommend them and I would encourage people not to use them.
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Mike,

I am sorry you feel like you have been ripped off. I can guarantee that you were not ripped off. As with ALL of your concerns from day one, inspection fee, deposit, etc., we have responded to you and worked with you. We also worked with you by allowing you to make payments.

My crew was out to your home multiple times, adding to MORE then one hour and fifteen minutes. However, we do not bid on time. We factor in multiple items when bidding jobs, hence the thorough inspection of your home. We are working at heights of 30 to 50 feet off the ground. This is a specialty service, we carry multiple licenses and insurance liabilities for this service.

For the screening and caulk used to seal your home, as stated in our contract, brochure and homeowner website what to expect at the time of sealing, we use a caulk that is white when applied and dries CRYSTAL CLEAR. This would be why you see the backer through the caulk.
The work is warranted.

I reviewed your file and found you signed as a customer for removal and prevention of the bats on March 1st, 2019. You received the estimate, for the recommended FULL attic restoration, within four business days, on March 7th, 2019. To PROPERLY complete an attic restoration, for the size of your attic and type of insulation, there is NO possible way to correctly complete the work for $900; new insulation ALONE will cost more than $900.

Last, during my review, I noticed we allowed a payment plan, as stated above. I found that you failed to your commitment and word to make the payments. Which sent you to collection.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with further concerns. We are more than happy to help.
Paid 1500.00 for about 3 hours of work which consisted of putting in a couple of bat doors and caulking some holes. Very messy dripping caulk on the roof, stapled up a screen on the outside garage decorative slatted vent that looked terrible even after I told him it already had a screen on the inside. Took them two weeks longer than I was told to get back to finish the job and when he did, I got a dirty look when I asked him to remove the staples they had put in. Total disappointment!
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Frank,

I am sorry to hear about your disappointment. Our goal is to truly try to make sure every job is completed to our customers satisfaction.

Our technician was not giving you dirty looks. He was explaining to you that taking the screen down was going to void your warranty and after being yelled at for the duration of your visit, frustration set in.

Our jobs are not priced at an hourly rate. There are many steps to a bat exclusion, which include many follow up visits. Other things that are factored into the price include; roof pitch, gables, eaves, the size of the problem, and many other factors.

Gable vents are screened on the outside for a number of reasons, but one main reason is to avoid roosting bats once our work is complete. We came out to make sure the screen was neat and looked nice, per your request, we took the screen down.

Bat doors stay up a minimum of 3 weeks; however, in your service agreement it is stated that we will determine when they are ready to come down. Having another company pull the doors down allows the bats to return and voids your warranty. We came out to your home when you requested and were willing to fix the problem and still keep your warranty.

If you have any additional comments or questions, please don’t hesitate to give us a call.
I would warn all those against this company, especially if you are using them for mice or chipmunk removal. They do not know what they're doing, that or it's highway robbery. My husband and I paid $1,300 for a "guarantee" that the entrypoint for chipmunks would be closed, the droppings and bodies would be fully removed, and it would be sealed back up. Days after they "fixed" the problem, the walls still smelled. We had to call them three times before they would send someone out. Upon arrival, he said he couldn't help us and would send his manager. Finally, after waiting for nearly a month, the manager came out and claimed it was the smell of mold. We begged him to cut into the wall and what do you know? Droppings everywhere. He said he would not help us unless we paid more. Absolutely ridiculous. Horrible service. They did NOT close up the entry point. They will lie and cheat you. We are new homeowners and learned a valuable lesson about trusting "specialists."
Response from Bat Removal And Prevention, Inc.
Thank you for your feedback, Allie.
When we came out the first time, we completed the work that was agreed upon: cutting open the wall behind the cabinet and removing any damage, dead animals, and/or droppings. When the smell would not go away, we came back out to your house, the tech could smell mold and wanted the owner to come out to handle the situation, due to the severity of the situation and having to cut open more of the wall. When the owner arrived, the smell of mold was very prominent. Upon opening the wall, we did see there were new droppings on top of the new work that had been completed by us; meaning there was more area where chipmunks were causing damage above the area we fixed. Along with the additional damage, there was a large amount of mold in the bathroom. We did speak with your husband regarding the work that would need to be completed and were on the same page as to getting it done and making sure you were taken care of. We do appreciate your feedback and apologize that you are unhappy; however, we did complete the work that you asked for behind your cabinet. Unfortunately, without tearing down the entire wall in your bathroom, we would have no way of knowing there was another problem higher up in the wall.
