I recently used Clancy Brothers Pest Control and my experience was mixed. I had to call to confirm my appointment and also call day of as the technician assigned to my inspection arrived quite late into the time window suggested and there was no communication regarding arrival. He did not appear fully professional or prepared. The inspection itself felt rushed and somewhat careless. Then, a wrong form was submitted afterward, requiring me to follow up to get the correct documentation. Additionally, a coworker of mine independently hired them for squirrel removal and has been dealing with an unresolved issue for over three months, which raises concerns about consistency and follow-through.
Provider response
Minh-Tam, we’re listening. Please contact us directly so we can look into this and make improvements.

Patrick did a very thorough job assessing our squirrel issue and finding out exactly where the are getting in through the roof. Set up a plan to keep them from entering and getting the culprits. 1000% recommend him!

Absolutely horrible. They came in, laid down a couple of traps (one of which they put in my sons bedroom where there were no mice) and then left. No surprise this did not work and i continued having mice. Called back and they charged me an additional fee to have someone come out and tell me the first guy didn't block the holes correctly and should not have put a trap in my sons room. Still have mice to this day - horrible service!
Provider response
Michelle, thank you for the honest feedback. We’d appreciate the chance to make this right—please reach out to us directly.

I signed a service contract with Clancy Bros for Ants, centipedes, clover mites, cockroaches, earwigs, ground beetles, mice, millipedes, pill bugs, rats and spiders. They came to the house for the initial setup visit (I paid $395 for this) and just looked around. As he was leaving, I asked him to at least treat for the ants in my living room, which he did, and said in a few days, the situation should improve. However, he put down no traps or bait stations for any of the other pests covered. I expected them to schedule an appointment to come back out and set up bait stations. After two weeks, they had not set up traps or bait stations or done any of the other work on the service contract, and the ant situation had not improved. We called and asked them to come out. They told us, we had already used our monthly appointment and that if they were going to come back out, they were going to charge us ~$100. I was shocked that the $395 initial setup appointment included minimal services. I called up and cancelled after this. They billed me the next month $95 anyway. I called up, and complained, and they refunded that money. I told them, I also wanted a refund for the setup appointment since they didn't set anything up. The ensuing conversation was rude and derogatory, as I was told that the ant treatment is actually more expensive then having them treat anything, and that they were going to come back and do setup, even though, they told my wife they wanted an additional $100 to actually start treating. I did a charge back with my bank, unfortunately, I did not have thorough documentation and lost the charge back, so they were paid in full despite not doing any of the work. As if dealing with them had not already been unpleasant enough, several months later they called me saying I owed them $395! I told them that they had been paid, which they were, and I verified with the bank, so they sent it to a collections agency. In short, I would not recommend Clancy Bros exterminators to any body, they will charge you, not perform services, and then lie.
Provider response
James, we're sorry things didn’t go as expected. We’re here to listen and help make it right. Please contact us to discuss this further!

I Started With a Positive Experience — But This Company Lost My Trust I want to start this review with the positive: The technicians who came out to do the job were awesome — professional, respectful, and thorough. This review is not about them. My issue is with the company itself — specifically their lack of transparency and how they treat customers. I first used Clancy Brothers Pest Control at one of my properties in Randolph, MA and paid around $250 for ant and mice treatment. I was happy with the service and even recommended them to a friend, who was also charged around the same amount. At the time, I even posted a positive review because I genuinely thought they were a reliable company. Then I hired them again for a different property in Rockland, MA. This time, they didn’t even give me a price up front — they just showed up, did the job, and then hit me with a $700 bill. If I had known the price would be that high, I never would have approved the service. That’s not how business should be done. I had to take down the original review I posted and replace it with this one once I saw the invoice. I called to explain that I had gotten quotes from other companies for around $300, and the most I was willing to pay was $400. That’s fair, based on local rates. Instead of working with me, the woman I spoke to at the office was rude and dismissive — she kept cutting me off and wouldn’t let me finish a sentence. Then she told me she would send me to collections if I didn’t pay the full amount. They later applied a $150 discount, bringing the total to $550, but that still feels like a trap. It seems like they reel you in with fair prices at first, then charge much more once you’re a returning customer — and if you question it, you’re treated poorly and threatened with collections. --- Bottom line: The workers were great, but the company’s business practices are shady, and their customer service is completely unacceptable. If you value honest pricing and being treated with respect, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I’m truly sorry to hear that your recent experience did not meet your expectations, and I appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly.

First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude for your kind words about our technicians. We take great pride in their professionalism and the quality of their work, and your acknowledgment means a great deal to us.

Regarding the service at your Rockland property, I understand your concerns about the pricing. I’d like to clarify that the invoice for that visit totaled $550, not $700. This amount covered two separate treatments—one for ants and one for mice. Individually, each service is priced at $350, but when performed together, we apply an automatic bundled discount, which brought the total down to $550.

For reference, your previous service on June 11, 2024, at your Randolph property was billed at $325 per treatment. With the bundled discount applied, your total came to $500. This is consistent with our standard pricing structure.

We are committed to transparency, and our invoices always reflect any applicable discounts. That said, we also understand the importance of clear communication prior to performing any work. I sincerely apologize if that aspect of the experience did not meet your expectations.

As a next step, I’ll be sending you copies of both service reports and invoices for your review. Our goal is—and always has been—to provide honest, dependable service, and we’re more than happy to clarify or discuss anything further.

Please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’re here to help.

This company charged me $150 to "inspect my residence" and provide a quote to have some critter guards installed around our solar panels. They refused to give me even as "estimation" of how much this service would cost without me paying them $150 to come to my house. The guy that came literally stood in my driveway and looked up at my roof- he was at my house for LESS THAN 5 minutes. Then they sent an estimate for $2300. I NEVER would have paid $150 if I had known the service was going to be over 2K. What a scam. Won't be recommending these guys to anyone and I can't believe they get away with charging $150 for absolutely nothing. I'm so upset.
Provider response
Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry to hear that you felt unsatisfied with the inspection process. Customer feedback is vital to us, and we take your concerns seriously. We strive to provide transparency in our services, and it’s clear we missed the mark this time. If you’d like to discuss this further, please reach out directly. Samantha Perino
I called and scheduled an appointment. After rearranging my schedule, they never put the appointment in the system, so no one was every scheduled. I only found out day off when I called to check on arrival. Not reliable in my opinion.
Provider response
Thank you for sharing your experience, Samantha. We're sorry to hear about the mix-up with your appointment. We attempted to call you multiple times as soon as the missed appointment was brought to our attention. We tried to offer a later appointment time for the same day as well as provide a discount off service in an effort to make things right, but were unable to reach you. Reliability is important to us and we appreciate your feedback as it helps us to improve our service. If you’d like to discuss this further, please reach out to us directly. Your insights are valuable and we’re committed to making things right.

The guy was nice but didn't do his job in two weeks bugs where walking happy in my house I called this company back another gentleman showed just to tell me that he can put ant bites.... Lol what a waste of money. I will not be returning client for sure.
Provider response
Hi Alicja,
We performed the initial service for ants on 6/16/23, there is a 60 day warranty provided for one-time pest services. There was a free callback service performed on 8/28/23. We recommended a tri-annual pest prevention plan at that time to help control this issue due to multiple bird feeders outside providing a food source for the ants, you did not want to setup the service at that time. We received another service request for ants in January 2024, but it was well beyond the 60 day warranty period. The products we apply for ants do not last 5 months, that is why we recommended tri-annual pest prevention service 3 times per year. We would love to help you with this issue, please let us know if you want to get scheduled for service. We appreciate your business!
Thank You,
Zac

I had the misfortune of having my unit treated by a rude and unprofessional staff member of Clancy Brother’s Pest Control. I was outrightly accused of using insecticide and was verbally abused by the representative in my own home. I would forgo Clancy Bros altogether as there are many other options for pest control such as Orkin or Terminix who are more selective of who they hire versus the typical small business.
Provider response
Betsy, while we welcome and appreciate feedback from our customers, this is a matter we've addressed with your landlord. Because we are contracted by the building, we work with the landlord on a regular basis. We apologize for any discomfort you may have felt and any misunderstanding that may have occurred. However, when we entered the unit, we were accompanied by the property manager of your unit and promptly vacated when you communicated that you weren't comfortable with our being there. Again, we apologize for the misunderstanding but have already addressed this with our customer, the landlord of your living complex.

Still waiting for them to address completely dropping the ball on a silverfish infestation. After sending a tech that didn't believe it was silverfish and didn't know they will get into your food eventually and had to research the pest, I found two completely infested beds 2 days after they were here. They refuse to refund the money so far with no call back to even address it. Any infestation is extremely stressful and upsetting, who needs this? I went with a recommendation from a friend, but what has already been a nightmare was just made 10 times worse knowing we used those beds thinking they were safe!
Provider response
I am sorry that you are not happy with our service. Our technician was at your home for 2 hours during the initial service and treated your entire home for centipedes and silverfish. I called you to schedule a follow-up service immediately after you called to let us know there were still some activity going on, you refused the service because you had already hired another company to take care of it. Unfortunately, we cannot resolve your problem if you do not want us to perform the treatment again. Please give the office a call or message me if you have any questions.

I called the company I like what they had to say and price was reasonable I made a app. they showed up on time all was good ready to give them a check all I wanted was a contract explaining everything we talked about he handed me his cell phone with a white screen and a black line nothing else, nothing explaining the terms of a contract he just kept saying I'll e-mail it to you just sign. NO NO NO all he had to do was show me the electronic contract and I would have sign it, all would be good He called me rude over and over again I was not rude I the called the office after they did not seem to care. Something not right here I would never do business this way.
Provider response
Kenneth, I’m sorry if our terms of trapping service were not shown to you on the report before the technician asked for it to be signed. We can send you the report and take more time to go over any questions you may have about our trapping services. Please let us know if there is anything else we can do to help you resolve your squirrel problem.
Thanks,
Zac
