Generally really like and appreciate GreenHow.... but we just had some ants in the middle of winter and they wanted to charge a very large fee for visiting even though we already pay for annual service. Super disappointed by this -- somehow even though we pay for service this only covers spring through fall.

If an issue does arise in winter, the visit is billed separately. I have had such positive experiences with everyone I've worked with at Greenhow so far. Previously we've just used them for quarterly insect maintenance but the other day I called as I identified some mice droppings. Not much terrifies me more than the possibility of mice in my home, but I feel like I’m in good hands with Greenhow. We have a solid plan for ensuring the mice are excluded. David spent a lot of time answering all my questions yesterday which is important to me (I’m less freaked out by a situation if I understand it). Communication is clear, they are super professional, and the pricing is reasonable and transparent. Would highly recommend.
I am always glad to see David (from Greenhow) arrive to perform the inspection and trapping services at our home in Arlington. Upon arrival he gets right down to business, and approaches all tasks with a thorough, thoughtful, engaged and efficient approach. Besides checking and re-baiting all the trap boxes, he proactively inspects the interior and exterior for any signs of pest activity that may have gone unnoticed. He has an excellent memory for the box locations and the pest control strategies being used. While he never looses focus, he does his work with a friendly, communicative and affable demeanor. As other reviews mention, Greenhow uses approaches informed by deep knowledge and experience, which they impart to their whole team. This was evident on two separate initial visits to our property, a year or so apart, one for ants the other for mice. The likely root causes for each problem were professionally identified, and strategies to address the immediate and long-term were proposed (Samantha). If you are having a pest problem within Greenhow's range of services you will learn a lot about your problem and possible solutions acceptable to you at the initial consultation visit. Your time will be well spent.

Ace tech Danny Fassino arrived on time, quickly donned slipovers to cover his shoes and set to work placing baited traps on our cellar sills and in boxes on the floor. Within two days, the work yielded success: three dead (now permanently blind) mice followed by another three an additional ex-mouse this week. After each ex-mice occasion the office was contacted and Danny dispatched to remove the former rodents and rebait the traps.

I had a mice problem and I didn’t want to use methods that cause prolonged suffering—like glue traps, poisons, or slow-trigger traps. Most people don’t realize how cruel standard traps can be: many catch mice by the tail or leg, leaving them to die slowly from injury or dehydration. Glue traps are especially horrific. Greenhow used quick-kill traps designed to end the animal’s life instantly and painlessly. I really appreciated that they offered a solution that aligned with my values. Greenhow provides quarterly pest maintenance at our home but will come out any time to address an issue or concern. They also regularly treat our property for mosquitos and ticks through the summer. I didn't actually hire them. I needed a simple inspection for the town to show there are no pests. I had to sign a 10 page waiver, provide all my personal information, register on their website, put my credit card on file, and sign up for auto pay. Really? For a 1 time visit?

All well and good if you keep their subscription, when you cancel they don't even bother to clear mouse traps from inside the house. We saw reduction in Carpenter ants after the service but no significance difference in other insects. Has subscription for mouse elimination from the yard but had zero affect inspite of subscribing for 4 mo. Will not recommend this service if you are looking for a solution. $750+ and 4mo later we are still having all the issues they were to address
