I’ve been using Moxie for about a year now for quarterly pest control, and overall I’ve been really happy with the service. I live in an older house, so pests have always been something we’ve had to deal with (especially with access points in the basement and attic), but since starting service I’ve definitely seen a noticeable improvement. One thing I really appreciate is that they actually stand behind their warranty. I mentioned some mouse activity over the winter, and without hesitation they scheduled a follow-up visit — no extra charge, no hassle. They reached out to coordinate, showed up as promised, and handled it proactively. That kind of reliability matters. During the most recent visit, my technician Dante went above and beyond. After finishing the standard service, I mentioned a strange situation in my basement where something larger than a mouse may have gotten in at some point. Even though he had already done a full inspection, he took the time to go back through everything again and check the basement carefully to try to figure it out. We weren’t able to definitively identify what it was, but I really appreciated the effort and the time he took to talk it through and investigate further. He didn’t rush out — he made sure I felt comfortable with next steps and clearly told me to call right away if it happens again so they can come back and try to catch it in the moment. Across the board, everyone I’ve dealt with has been friendly, helpful, and professional. The service works, they follow through on what they say, and there are no surprise charges when they come back out. I’d definitely recommend Moxie to anyone looking for pest control.

SCAM! They lock you into a year long service with 80% cancellation fees, which is insane in its own right even for a good service. But the service itself is minimal (or potentially non existent). I signed up for spraying for spiders / ants on the exterior of the house and along the basement baseboards. The day I signed up this was done. After that I never saw anyone come to my house or do anything. I think they come for 5 minutes and spray the exterior and then charge you $150 but I would not know, there is very little communication about what is actually done or when and their online portal was broken with a "text this number" message. What you do get is about 10-20 aggressive spam calls and messages every week trying to upsell you more of their garbage. After 100s of spam calls and being charged $150 the 3rd time, I called to cancel. After about 20 minutes of arguing with Carlos on the phone about the ridiculous cancelation fees, Carlos confirmed that everything is cancelled and I would not have to pay anything further. 2 days later they charged my credit card for $280. Do not get involved with these people, and don't believe the clearly fake reviews. This is a 0 zero star SCAM.

DO NOT USE My bf and I used this pest control company and they installed mouse proof insulation in the attic, costing $12k. During the installation a worker put his foot through the living room ceiling leaving a hole. It was a hassle to get them to organize someone to repair the hole and they only painted half the ceiling once the hole was fixed, leaving the room ceiling noticeably two different shades. They provided zero discount or compensation for the damage. They also insisted we needed termite traps outside despite having a concrete house foundation. When they came for their yearly termite inspection, we told them we didn’t want to renew. They charged us $500 anyway for the next year of traps. We called about this and they said if we didn’t want to renew they would have to come remove the traps. We said that was fine. They refused to refund us for the upcoming year of service despite scheduling a time to come remove the traps and thus us not utilizing the service we were charged for. Overall super shady company that’s just out to take people’s money and provide only headaches.

BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE CROOKS AND LIARS AND CHEATS. This company uses door to door sales to confuse and trick potential customers. They mislead my parents to think they were getting a one time treatment. Moxie then a year later charged them an early termination cost of over $300. A terrible company which should be fully investigated by the authorities and shut down.

I had a very disappointing experience with Moxie Pest Control in Boston. The inspection I received contained inaccurate information that appeared framed in a way to create unnecessary urgency. I was told I needed services costing over $2,000, but after conducting my own research, I found those claims to be exaggerated and not supported by facts. When I decided to cancel, I was told it would cost me $400 just to prevent them from coming back into my home. That is unacceptable and feels like a predatory business practice. Do not use these people. Go with a trusted local company instead.

This is a TERRIBLE company!! Horrible customer service. The serviced did NOTHING! I tried to cancel the service for months and was told I would have an early cancelation fee. I finally cancelled after my "final service" and was still charged a cancelation fee. I called several times trying to fix this issue and kept being told it was all set only to receive another notice about the fee I owe. This company is a complete SCAM!! Do not waste your time and energy or money dealing with them. I wish I didn't!

This company has done nothing but lie and try to scam us. They came to our door at 9 o’clock at night and offered a great deal so we took it, They came out for the first service and it did absolutely nothing, Even the guy that came to our door said that people don’t normally see results until the third service. They came last week for the second service and I literally watched the guy just change the rat trap and try to leave. So now I am waiting for them again today to complete the service and they told me they were at my house and I’ve been home all day so they tried to lie to me again. UPDATE: they have no showed 5 times in a row. I have never seen a company do anything like this. Now I understand why they charge an extreme amount when you want to get out of the contract

I’m giving one star because some guy had the audacity to come onto our property and tried to sell us a yearly pest control service. When I asked if it was possible to use the service just once, he said no. I really didn’t like how pushy he was, and we ended up signing the contract under pressure. Thankfully, we had three days to cancel it, so we did that the same evening and also blocked our card in case they tried to charge us. This company keeps getting negative reviews mainly because of their aggressive sales tactics, and they don’t seem to stop. Good luck continuing to collect bad reviews. If someone shows up again, we will call the police.

Total crooks. Door to door solicitor showed up, told us they could do a service and put us on a quarterly plan. We cancelled the plan after a couple of services and were charged a cancellation fee that was almost as much as the quarterly service fee. We were not told we were signing up for any contract, or that there was any cancellation fee. I called and spoke with them and had a very tense conversation with their rep who had clearly dealt with about a million of these calls, and refused to refund the cancellation fee that we werent told about. Avoid at all costs. REPLY TO OWNERS REPLY: Despite your comment, "Let us know if we can further assist you", you don't seem to actually want to assist me with voiding the charge, and are actively fighting with me in my dispute with the credit card company. Please work with me to void the charge.

Took $200 out of my account for a so called scheduled appointment that no one was home for. Left a card in the door claiming they serviced my home for free but yet I was charged $200 for an appointment that I NEVER scheduled! Quarterly appointment would be due in August but came out in July. When I called to inquire they informed me that if I wanted to cancel my account would be charged 80% of the remaining contract amount that would be approximately $600. Be sure to read the fine line of the so called contract. Be sure to ask all the right questions better yet don’t sign up! Bug spray works just as well and is cheaper

The work wasn’t all the way perfect but still a decent job. Some bug coming back here and there like they said. My issue is how they basically guilt trip you into leaving a 5 star review so that the tech gets $10. Why not let the ratings be based on the actual work, instead of paying for 5 star reviews? I would rather tip the employee cash than leave a 5 star review without verifying quality of work. I’ll change my review in a few months when I see the difference in bugs. Other than that, sales rep and technician were 5 stars!!!
