Update. I had a contract to have work done last spring. It was a chaotic day and I had to take my disabled husband to an appointment. Regrettably, I paid in full by error even though the work wasn’t completed. He would not honor the contract and wanted another $3000 for work I already paid for. At small claims court, the judge asked what additional jobs he had done to justify not fulfilling the contract. He had nothing so he made up a false story and lied under oath.
