I am so very happy with the results of this company! I have only had them for this year but the results are amazing! My lawn has never looked this good before. I highly recommend them for your lawn maintenance. The individual I have mowing plus the service from Shades of Green have me so happy and excited! Keep up the great work guys!! You’re the best!

After spending thousands on their lawn care services, I expected consistent results. Although my front yard looked great, my backyard was clearly not being serviced, which was confirmed by security footage. I provided photos and raised the issue, but no action was taken. The condition of my backyard speaks for itself, it’s an embarrassment. I would advise others to closely monitor their service visits.

Our technicians document every application with service photos showing the entire lawn was serviced each time.<br><br>Lawn conditions can change between applications due to weather patterns, heat stress, and watering conditions, especially during the hotter parts of the season. Kevin Baum, service technician did a great job! Details of application sent per text. Easy to communicate with. Take care of specific requests. Notify you per text when coming and name of the employee. Get back with you quickly with any needs.

Shades of Green has provided an excellent yard service from start to finish. The crew's are organized, thorough, and incredibly respectful of our property. I’ve been using Shades Of Green for a few years now. They always do a great job. Griffin Prickel even blew all the leaves off as the recent rain caused so much leaf cover and would’ve prevented them from treating the lawn until another day. Highly recommend

This company is mismanaged. Billing is not consistent with proposals. Communication is not good. I think this company has out grown their ability to manage the amount of work they have. On a positive note the work that was completed at my home was done very well. I would not recommend the company at this time unless you are a person that wants to manage their process. I am simply so disappointed in the many issues that I felt compelled to share it. This is the only negative review I have ever posted. Im not that guy.
I've been a loyal customer since 2018 (Southside Lafayette; The Landing neighborhood). Services have significantly declined during the past few years. Not the same post-COVID. I believe the company is understaffed and stretched way too thin. Looks like Shades of Green now services properties outside of Indianapolis, which is recent. This has slowed down applications of fert/weed control on my property in Lafayette. For instance, Round 3 (early Summer application) was performed on May 22 in 2023. As of July 1, 2025, Round 3 had still not been done. Round 2 in 2023 was done on 4/26. In 2025, it was done on 5/22. In a few short years, applications have been spaced out 4+ weeks longer. The office is aware and does nothing in response. Constantly blame weather, which is pretty constant year after year in Indiana. There is always rain and wind in the Spring and Fall to manage around. I've noticed that applications have been combined nowadays per visit too. This has not been done historically. Lastly, prices have increased 5% every year since 2020 (up 25% in 5 years). I finally canceled my services in 2025.
Communication, coordination and service was excellent as always. This particular service was for a Spring core aeration that we had done in the front yard only. While I think the aeration was done as expected, I am not sure it was worth the cost. For the area of the yard being aerated and the time spent doing the aeration, the cost seemed inflated.

Their service was great in the beginning but has slacked off significantly this past year. I canceled our home service as well as our rental property, and all I received was a generic letter in the mail. No phone call. I am so disappointed.
Melvin was very nice and informative about the services I would be receiving. The company as a whole is very bad to their employees and didn’t pay their workers after using them for 50 hours a week to deliver flyers and doing door to door sales.
Called last week for irrigation system winterization and spoke with Lori who was going to check their schedule and get back to me. Never got a call back, so clearly my business was not needed.
The owner and I met winter/spring of 2017 to discuss plans and set a time frame for landscaping my property and yard fertilization. The fertilization treatments started quickly but I hadn't heard anything new about the landscaping project so I began calling/leaving messages weekly in April. By late May I was told the owner was stopping by to refamiliarize himself with the project. I know last year was busy so I waited a few more weeks. After not hearing anything by late June I called 2 more times-more promises on the phone but nothing ever happened. If I'd been told they couldn't do the project or I was just forgotten about I still would have had time to schedule someone to do the work before the season ended. It was a very important project to coincide with some other major improvements I was making at the time. While the fertilization service was fine my overall experience was a huge letdown made worse by the non-responses and broken promises to get back with me. It's now 2018 and I get an invoice that states service automatically continues unless I request it to end (not a big deal, I'm sure this is normal). So I email them to end service and wait a week-no response. Later I call and am assured a confirmation will be emailed. As I type this it's been 3 weeks and still no confirmation-the pattern continues. I hate to write a bad review but if someone would have warned me the trouble I'd have to go to to get lead on like this I would never have hired this company. I've had to start all over hiring a new company to try to get the landscaping done...a full year behind schedule because of Shades of Green.
I tried to get this company out to my house for a quote/assessment on two separate occasions. The first time was in April. I was told someone would come by to talk to me when they were in the area. I was ok with that but after a month no one had come by yet. I called them and set up a formal appointment. The appointment was originally for 4:15 but the day before they called and changed it to 4:45. I told them if for whatever reason I could not be here to leave their assessment/quote on my front door. I was able to be here at 4:45 but no one showed up. I called the main office at 530 and left a message requesting that someone call me back. This was a week ago and I have still not heard from them.
