Jeff and his team were great. They layed river rock and pavers around the firepit, making a great hangout for teenage boys. I didn’t want to tackle the job myself. Merrill planted 11 trees and assorted plants in our backyard over three days, workers were very cordial despite the heat and the landscaping is looking very good. They also planted a maple tree in the front yard and did some shrub pruning. Jeff coordinates the work effectively and is quick to respond to texts. Very good landscaping service will continue to use them moving forward!

Merrill landscape services did an amazing job on my property! They completely redid three rock beds, a mulch bed, took out a bunch of weeds and bushes for a very reasonable price. The landscaping manager, Jeff, even came out after the work was done to make sure that everything was done to my liking and specifications that we agreed upon! I will definitely be hiring them again the next time I have any sort of landscaping needs!

Merrill landscaping cleaned my yard after not having shrubs trimmed in over eight years. There job was fabulous and they did it in a timely manner. I am very happy.

The two man crew trimmed about twenty bushes at my house today. They were outstanding!!!!! The bushes were trimmed very neatly and all trimming waste was collected and hauled away. I recommend their service and I will use again! Thanks! Smitty

Couldn’t get a time of day that they would be arriving for the first time. Showed up when we were gone. Never got directions from us. Thought they were only coming one month to weed. The next month I had no idea at all that they were coming. Had not discussed any further work…and they showed up when we were out of town and trimmed one of our trees. We did NOT want this done! At no point did any worker ever meet with us to discuss what we wanted done in our yard. Will not have them back.

The landscaping that was done was not terribly done however they did nothing about the damage they did to my back deck. Then today someone came to my house did nothing but was charged for a full mow even though the company admitted they didn't mow. They say the price is included in everything. When I asked if they still charged full price they said there was no one to talk to about it that would help me. Just really over priced for shoddy/lack of work. Do not recommend at all.

I received an email saying that due to heavy snow storm (which subsided Thursday afternoon when some of my neighbors were serviced by other companies) we could only expect to be serviced Thursday or Friday. Late Friday afternoon I sent a reply simply stating “I’m really questioning if you have the capability to respond to your customer needs.” As a result I got a reply saying that since I was not satisfied my service was cancelled. Note that I had used Merrill for my irrigation service before and the company that they outsourced the service to did a good job. I called to understand why the cancelled and the person that answered said it was because my email was rude. It was obvious that they were trying to do was to get rid of their backlog by canceling customers that complained. It is how people respond to stressful situations that we really understand how good, or in this case how poor, their services are.

I hired this company for taking care of my yard while i was on a long vacation and specifically told them this. When I returned back I see my backyard with half of the grass dead. To me and to another company i called this is a fertilizer burn which the company did on July 13 although when I setup the service I told them that I was away and do not need summer fertilization. Anyway, I called them and they sent a technician to claim we have grubs on the backyard! I called again and the owner then came and this time they told it is drought! What type of drought is that it did not anything on any of my neighbours lawns who never water their lawns but killed mine. Anyway, I suggest not to trust this company as they do not take responsibility on their as you can see from my story above!

I called them initially to get control of the over the weeds which is what i told them. They came out and mowed That was it. The next week they came out and i told them face to face "i need the weeds gone!" Ok thatll be "extra service" ok fine...week later never got done. Caught them AGAIN working in the yard (just mowers and trimmers;weed wackers) told the AGAIN still no avail. Mind you they have 3 guys on the property.... I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THEIR SERVICES!!

Workers are very rude and disrespectful of people's property.

We hired them to aerate and overseed. We had no idea when they were coming, and when they did, they apparently couldn't get to the back yard because of a parked car. My wife was in a work meeting and asked if she could have 15 minutes to move it. They agreed and then left before that. They never showed back up but sent a bill for the full amount. I called and was told they would get someone out there immediately to do the rest. They never came. We then received a late notice on the bill. When I complained, I was given a roughly 11% discount (and our backyard is bigger than the front), then they upped it to a little over 20%. So much for agreements, I guess. And incidentally, the backyard is what I wanted done, so I threw a hundred bucks away on nothing. This is also after we hired them last year to mulch and preen our front flower beds, and they instead preened my entire yard (when I was trying to grow grass).

I hired Merrill to redesign and replace the previous landscaping in front of my home, and they failed to meet my expectations for the job. I told the designer (John) who came out that I wanted a fabric weed barrier installed to prevent the extremely overgrown previous plants from coming back, and he agreed. However, later on he removed that from the job without telling me. Even worse, they did not even remove the previous plants, only trimmed them down and covered them with mulch, so within a week they were already coming back up! After numerous calls and emails to Merrill, a different person (Eric) finally came out, and he agreed with me that the job wasn't done properly and looked terrible, but all he did to "correct" the problem was spray some roundup on the weeds. I have since spent many hours trying to dig up the old plants, to actually finish the job I paid Merrill to do. I also wanted to have someone come out and give me some advice and estimates for replanting my lawn, but when I called Merrill they told me "We don't send people out for that" and sent a generic quote for their aeration service instead. Overall, in addition to doing a shoddy job, they've been very impersonal and dismissive to work with. Also, there are some five-star reviews here that are from employees of the company.

Late, didn't do what we told them twice, billed before the work was done, doubled the estimate we received when we got the bill.
