Six weeks ago I posted a poor review (not negative - just disappointed) that we still had an infestation of German cockroaches, after we had paid for services. The next day I received an email from Alex asking for clarification as some of my observations didn't sound correct to him. I was reluctant to talk, as I expected the usual "please pull the review and we will try to do better in the future" type of discussion. However Alex was up front and said he was fine with me leaving the review up. It turns out, because I was off island that my old Property Management company didn't do what they had said they would do - even though I was charged for the "work". We then decided to try again and this time we did everything Mid-Pac requested and they sent over Ivan. Not only did he blast the little bastards, he spent the time explaining what he was doing, why he was doing it and gave us pointers on what to do to try and reduce further problems. The ten minutes he spent talking was what we might have been able to learn with three hours on YouTube - it was most helpful. Based on this, I pulled the original post and waited until the follow up inspections were done to post an accurate review. Here is my wife's comments to Mid-Pac: Just an update on the bug situation. The last baby roach sighting was yesterday evening. There were two young cockroaches, really small, between the sink and the stovetop. Hopefully, their numbers are getting closer to zero! By the time the second appointment comes on Dec 30th, hopefully, there will be none left to bait! Thank you Dani, Alex and Ivan. I really appreciate the customer service and willingness to share information with us. We can not make a higher recommendation. We are dealing with insects/bugs, so they are gone - but probably not the last time we will need Mid-Pac. I found Mid-Pac responsive to our questions, on time and very respectful of us and our Maui home.

Over the years I have tried all of the pest control services on Maui. Until I found Mid Pacific. They are simply the best. They offer standard as well as non tox (which I prefer indoors), they have these incredible mosquito machines that are also natural with no chemicals as well as rodent traps. I've been with them for years now and am very pleased. The technicians are all very kind, the estimator Ray is great, and Kris in scheduling also great! Thank you for providing excellent service in the jungle!

Man! I am so happy right now because I finally chose the right person for the job with these guys. Just moved here and I’ve been striking out with so many companies for various things (eg. cable/poolservice/roofer) Wether it be poor communication, punctuality, availability, or just the entire service provided in general. But FINALLY today was my lucky day :). I needed termite insp/estimates so I scheduled a few. 1 no show- 1 late and weird—then came Mid-Pacific. Not only was this guy the most polite gentleman he also knew his stuff! Took time to show me the tunnels that were unfortunately found and then I received an in depth mini class about these tiny bastards lol. The estimate was so reasonable and well explained compared to what my previous research found I had them do the job right then and there and signed up for general pest control quarterly maintenance. Im no expert, but Im confident no corners were cut as nothing was rushed and he never stopped moving. Thank you sooo much guys for easing some of the pain from this not so fun relocation:) I’ll see you at my next qrtly treatment! Keep up the good work….

Had this company perform a termite inspection for a sale and received a clear report. Moved in and found termites in clear view. Lynn stated that pest report was only good for 2 weeks although there was clear evidence that termites were there when the inspection was done. I would avoid this place at all costs and go with someone else. Spoke with someone named Mark, who is apparently the owners son. The gentleman was incredibly rude and condescending, which makes me understand now why there are nine 1 star ratings. It was one of the worst attempts of trying to, rectify,” the situation I’ve ever seen. Told me that it was ants that are apparently eating the wood. Very disappointing.

On a different note thou looking at the pictures taken unfortunately in the state of hawaii pest control inspectors are not allowed to pull flooring or base boards or do construction to do inspections like they are allowed to in California. There is a different set of hawaii rules that must be followed. Home inspectors would have also noted evidence of termites if it was present at the time of inspection as well. The pictures looked like ant debris however its a little blurry in the first picture to determine. If you are a customer of ours a phone call and meeting with Mark or Alex would have been much more appropriate to make sure its 110% termites not ant fallout. I have a rental that is still vacant and could not rent it out because it had a flee treatment that did not exterminate the flees a month after they completed it. When I asked them to check it again they said they would have someone check and get back to me and after 3 days no response and I had to call them again for the results. I’ve been in the real estate business for over 30 years on Maui and never had someone as rude and unprofessional hang up on me on a job they did and did not fulfill their duties by meeting their quality of work and professionalism they advertise to have. I’ve used them before but will never use them again and I highly recommend that you consider contacting another company before them. When I told them I would let my friends, family and associates know of my experience with them they said they didn’t care and to go ahead. Just that alone shows arrogance and lack of professionalism. Businesses like these need to realize customer satisfaction is what makes or breaks a business and if your workers act in this manner that represent your company and treat customers in this rude and disrespectful way they should be fired. They will destroy your company.

On Oct 10th I received a quote for quarterly pest control to start early January 2023, of which I approved via email. On Jan 7th I emailed both sales reps asking when my service start date was....two days later, still no reply so I called the office and asked for scheduling. After they found my quote I received a start date for Friday Jan 13th @ 4pm. I asked at that time, if they send reminder emails and/or does the technician call or text when on way....scheduler said they don't offer that service...I said ok. Few min later scheduler calls me back and says they want to charge me an additional $140 for (4) rodent traps...I asked why do I have to purchase and she said they only sell them but re-fill quarterly. I said let me look for cheaper options. I called back and said I found ones at Ace hardware from $18-23 per trap, she then asked me what type of key the traps used as they only support a certain key. I was so frustrated I said I'd call their competitors to see if their traps are feel and I'd call back to cancel appointment if need be. I decided to see what the technician brings as maybe the traps are worth the price. Well its 5:30 pm (1.5 hr after my appt), no technician, no show, no phone call, no reply from sales reps (I emailed and called). You can see the theme here....HORRIABLE OPERATIONAL MANAGMENT!! Maui can do better, I'm sure a better service company exists. How Mid-pacific is even in business is baffling to me when I'm trying to give them business!

Unfortunately, you stated that you were going to use another company and would call back if you wanted our services and did not call back thus resulting in the service being canceled. Within the next 2-3 weeks the system will be fully automated and allow online customer portals as well as reminder emails 3 days prior to service and texting capabilities. Unfortunately, we are not 100% there yet. <br> We understood your frustration and reason for switching over from the other pest control company you had mentioned. <br>Due to laws on rodent bait stations and tamper/resistant requirements we (MPPC) sell bait stations that you own. I can see where your coming from with the $18-23 dollar per trap however our bait stations are $10 more with a concrete brick inside to secure them from extreme winds/ landscapers, the bait is elevated to prevent ground water from coming in contact as well as extremely rigid to prevent non target animals from entering into the bait station with rods to prevent the bait from falling out if shaken. The question on the keys is in reference to ensuring we have the correct rodent bait station key to service the bait station. They destroyed our tile during treatment and lied about our canceled tenting. Very unprofessional staff. Horrible experience. Would not recommend. Instead of drilling in the grouts of the tile, they drilled in the dead center. The tile repairman said they have never heard of such a thing and that everyone drills in the grout. The staff or owner could care less. We had them tent another house and they broke the gutters and did such a poor job. You could tell the gas leaked out by how the grass was burned outside of the tent .

Depending on footings and locations of piping and eletrical it may need to be drilled in the tile. We would like to resolve this. Do not let these people into your home. Our living complex offers routine pest spraying service through Mid Pacific Pest Control. We received the notice and decided to opt in this time as a precautionary measure, even though we have not seen any cockroaches or droppings in several months. The times that we have seen cockroaches in the home, they were distinctly American cockroaches and were only found in one area of the house. When the Mid Pacific Pest Control employee came to our home to do the spraying, he insisted on spraying in the bathrooms even though we have never found pests or pest droppings to be a problem in the bathrooms. He went into the bathroom, and called me in claiming that we had a German roach problem. Again - we have never had German roaches (we know the difference), and never any pests in that area of the house (we know how to spot the signs of infestation). It was way more than just a coincidence that the first time a German roach showed up in our bathroom was also the exact moment he came in to spray. He then spent the rest of his time trying to sell me on a special "roach clean-out" that "only we can do" because "normal pesticides won't work." The spraying that he did end up doing was minimal, and leaves me doubtful that they would even do a thorough job on this additional service he was trying to sell me on. I do not trust this company.

First, they require a pre-treatment visit at a cost of approximately $50.00. I asked for heat treatment but got spot treatment. Within two weeks of providing the termite treatment, the termite were still very active. Mid Pacific would not come back without charging us again. I would not recommend them.

As the severity of the termites is unknown due to their cryptic behavior.<br><br>In regards to heat treatment, it is a extremely involved process from our side and a customer's side with prep work depending on the location could require removal of appliances and emptying out cabinets. The Absolute Worst on Maui..... Had them come out to do a clean out and spray and their technician had trouble opening the door handle. So, he left to another job. How hard is it to lift a door handle, retrieve a lock box key, and go inside to do your job? If you want incompetent dummies coming to spray, this is the company for you. The Owner Robin is not customer service oriented, belittles her customers, and does not deserve to have any business on this island!! Companies like this shoot themselves in the feet when they want to treat people less than civil. Here's to losing the main account at my complex dummies!!

Our experience describe here is with the Kihei office of Mid Pacific Pest Control in Maui. We had our vacation rental property treated by them at the end of 2013. We went with them because they have a 6-month warranty, and they are recommended by our cleaning company on the island. That transaction went Ok. Since we do not live on the island, we rely on our cleaning company to report any issues they notice during regular check-in/check-out cleaning. Soon after 6 month, the cleaning company reported the bug issue returned. I called Mid Pacific, they sent a technician to investigate. A couple of weeks went by and several emails, I still did not hear from them. After several calls/emails, I got a proposed treatment plan, with cost estimated over $600. When asked if their 6-month warranty applies, they said the current infested spots are different from the ones treated 6 month earlier, therefore no warranty or discount applies. When I requested the diagram showing the new spots, 3 out of the 4 are the same, the 4th location needs explanation. I emailed them, the only reply I received is “I will check with the technician”, no more communication from the company after that. The stark differences between the 1st time and 2nd time lead me to believe they are prompt to take client’s money but good luck trying to get them to back up their work.
