Bulldog Termite & Pest

We hired Bulldog Pest in 2019 for termite treatment and paid approximately $1000 for what was described as a 10-year warranty on our home. We made it clear at the time that this was our long-term residence—not a home sale situation—and that we were relying on that warranty for ongoing protection and peace of mind. Within about two years, we noticed continued termite activity and reached out. We were given advice over the phone, but no follow-up inspection or re-treatment was scheduled. Now, six years post-payment, we are again dealing with termites. Despite multiple calls, emails, and requests to resolve this—including offering to pay any applicable service fee for re-treatment—we have not received any response from the owner. At this point, the only service we received for the $1,000 was the initial visit, which lasted approximately 1–2 hours. We have made multiple good-faith efforts to resolve this directly but have been unable to get any communication. We are currently pursuing this through the BBB and the company’s bonding provider in an effort to recover a portion of our loss and ensure this doesn't happen to other people. We would still strongly prefer to resolve this directly if possible. We are disappointed, especially as members of the Texas State University community, to have this experience with a local business. We hope the owner will step forward and make this right.

If you are looking for an exterminator, I would not hesitate to call these people. They have an excellent product, excellent customer service, and they are just excellent people. They have helped us out of creepy Crawley situations many times, and we have been clients for years.

Thank God for Them. We somehow got German cockroaches (thanks Amazon boxes) which is like my top fear for bugs. They carry diseases, are hard to eradicate, and I'm terrified of them. We also have a small child and I'm extra susceptible to disease. It was a nightmare situation. I called Bulldog on Memorial Day expecting to leave a message. To my surprise, the nicest man answered and got me scheduled for the NEXT DAY. He explained their very reasonable prices, 30 day guarantee, and a process for visits after 30 days if we got infested again. Tuesday came and he was on time, did a thorough job, and used chemicals that are safe for kids and dogs. I haven't seen a single roach since- and trust me, I've been looking. He had told me that usually one treatment is enough but I honestly didn't believe him because it took 3 treatments at a previous home to get rid of them. The proof is in the pudding- we're roach free now and I'm so relieved. Bulldog does an exceptional job but I also really appreciate how kind and personable they are. They are a family business, devoted to serving the community, and that speaks volumes. I was especially impressed that Quintin, who treated our home, is balancing work and college, and planning to get a Master's in Pest Management at A&M. That's a rare level of devotion to both work and education. Bottom line- use them. They are nice, community oriented, and incredibly good at their line of work.

We have never hired an exterminator before this. Always done it ourselves. However, this time my chemicals were no match for the crazy ants. The exceptional service began with the girl who scheduled us... same day. She was very sweet and helpful and informed us of the 30 day guarantee included with the service. Quentin was our technician. He was terrific!!! Very informative and extraordinarily thorough. He even loved on our huge dogs instead of being terrified like most people who have been in our home. I truly believe they made a great hire there. I would definitely recommend them and hire them again.

Bulldog is really a great value and is cheaper than other local businesses in the San Marcos area. The initial visit is higher but it was expected and the guy who came the first time came back on my quarterly visit and was professional, personal, and a nice guy. He came in and asked about my concerns and told me what would help and what he was going to do. I saw immediate results and have been happy with their services since.

Awesome and very very responsive! We've had a problem with scorpions and they've been able to help keep everything under control. When they come, they always ask about our main pest control problems so they can adjust for our needs. I highly recommend Bulldog Termite & Pest Control.

I had recently discovered Bulldog termite and pest control and from the start of communication it was handled professionally. I was scheduled quickly and they were on time on with every task. The job they have done has been terrific and will continue to use the company!

I don't know how to thank Bulldog Termite and Pest enough. We ended up with a german roach infestation. We had tried to treat it ourselves and it quickly got out of hand. They calmed us down and came quickly (we called on a Friday and they were out BEFORE scheduled arrival time on Monday). Quintin was kind, respectful and patient - I misunderstood that just under the sink needed to cleaned out when really it was ALL of the kitchen cabinets so he took care of the outdoor area and rest of the house while I emptied the cabinet. Everything was explained to me very clearly, that the treatment turns to bait when it dries and that it may take a couple weeks to work. I'm still within the 30 day warranty period, but it's quite evident that I won't need to be re-serviced for this particular issue. Great family owned business. I highly recommend. I have my HOME back for the holidays and it was WORTH EVERY PENNY!

Edit to respond to Bulldog's reply: "Give it about a week to see what happens" is not really an explanation. If it is normal for your products to take a week to work, that should be made clear before you start a job. It took nearly a week to get a tech out (it was Labor Day week). In that time, I had pretty much gotten the ants under control. Still, I paid the pros for peace of mind. Nice guy showed up on time on Thursday morning and treated two houses in about 90 minutes. He said we'd start seeing dead ants. Instead, what we saw was a new infestation of very live ants. They offer a 30-day guarantee, so I called and left a VM on Saturday about the new ants. They left me a VM on Monday stating that “the owner” said to give it a week to start working. WTF? If the ants are gone after a week, I'll attribute it to all the spraying I've done since Bulldog left. Their Bayer products, Suspend Polyzone and Temprid SC have not had much, if any, effect. Seems like a waste of a few hundred bucks compared to DIY.

Right on time, friendly service, and no more bugs! What more could you want? Oh right, safe for pets, kids and everyone!

Had my property sprayed about a month ago and have yet to see any ants or roaches anywhere around! Outstanding work! If your looking to get rid of unwanted pest I highly suggest calling these guys!

We have used Bulldog for 5 years and haven’t had any trouble with bugs or scorpions. They are very professional and always show up on time.

We started service and had our 1st spray in July 19, 2017. We bought a house and our inspector suggested this company so we went with them. We were quoted $150 for 1st visit, then discount quarterly. We we're told if we see bugs between visits to call and they'd come take care of it and it would be included in costs. Our cost came to over $300 which surprised us, but we paid and moved on. On July 31st, I messaged Autumn and let her know we were still seeing tiny roaches in the upstairs bathroom and ants in the kitchen but no bugs anywhere else. She said they'd come out and take care of it. 1st week of August they sprayed bathroom again and put a gel in the kitchen for the ants. She told me to let her know in about 2-3 weeks if I see a difference and if not, they'd spray but wanted to try the gel first. No problem. About 2, 2 and a half weeks Iater messaged her and let her know the ants we're actually worse than before. No reply. A few days later I messaged again. No response. This time I call and left a voicemail. No response. I finally get a hold of her 1st week in September and tell her what was going on and how I had messaged and left a voicemail. She proceeded to tell me I needed to move my quarterly visit up (from end of October) and when I refused she put her dad on. He tells me all of the flooding from Harvey washed away the barriers on homes and a lot of customers are having to move their quarterly visits up. I told him my neighborhood and home didn't even flood and that I was trying to get a hold of them before Harvey even came and have texts to prove it. He refused to do anything else until I paid my quarterly charge. I told him I paid over $300 July 19th and was told if I saw bugs between visits to let them know and theydttake care of it, but now want to tell me to move my quarterly up almost 2 months and pay again?! Absolutely not! I told him the gel they "tried" out didn't work and I wanted something done about it. They hung up on me and then I got a nasty message from his wife (who I had never even talked to or spoken with) letting me know they were blocking my number!! Seriously beware people! I had to hire another company to come take care of the ants. 1 spray and I haven't had a bug since!! This place is out to get your money!
