Extremely poor billing practices and unacceptable customer service. I received a credit bureau notification for an alleged unpaid balance that I was never notified about—not once. No 30-day, 60-day, or 90-day notice. Nothing. When I called Emerald Lawns, they admitted they recently changed their billing system and can’t clearly see what’s been paid or not paid. Yet they still reported the account to TransUnion. I spent 47+ minutes on the phone, was cold-transferred between departments, and was told the finance department is email-only and unreachable by phone. They also cannot provide a full account reconciliation. This is not how a professional company operates. If you value transparency, accurate billing, and your credit, I would not recommend using Emerald Lawns.

Careful with this company. They sent a technician who did not apply the treatment and then they sent an email saying the lawn has been serviced. Glad I have outside cameras as proof. I regret signing up with them.

This is not something I wanted to post. However, people need to be very, very careful with this company. I had them install Chrismas lights. I paid $3600. Of which I normally pay around $1500. This is on the higher end for what I wanted this year. The sales person Robert Quinn was very nice and personable. The crew that came out to install the first time were also very respectful and nice. I planned on being home during Install. I could not be there. Now, this is the avoid this company clause. The job was not finished per agreement. No biggie. I called and arranged for them to come out and finish. The second crew showed up and was not respectful or nice. They did a very poor job with what was left to them. I sent them pics of what was agreed on. They sent a Pic and said "no". Upon arriving home, it looked like they didn't even try and just threw the lights up, that they missed. It looked like a four year did it. When telling them it was a poor job and lights needed to be fixed avd resecure. They replied that I should have used mini lights when gluing to vertical surfaces. I've had lights attached to garage and windows for years. No issue. My whole neighborhood does this and other companies don't struggle with this. This company can't figure out how to do the simplest of lights on a vertical surface. This Company "emerald lawns" won't make it right. Why? The communication is literally "none" or deflecting back at me. These guys are priced at higher end without being a high end installation. They don't follow up and they'll ignore you over their shotty work. Lights that they glued are falling off as well. The downstairs windows we're crooked and falling off. I told the company if they can't fix correctly then take them off. Instead of correcting it the right way. They took the easy route and removed them. I've asked for a refund on downstairs windows. They're charging $200 per window. I've heard nothing from them. No communication. Personally, I wouldn't bother with these guys. Overpriced and sell what they can't do and won't fix. I love Christmas and Christmas lights. I'm in the process of fixing them myself. At my own cost and time.

I have spoken with their customer service on a few occasions about calling 24 hours prior to coming out, they use to do this. Each time I’ve called they say we will make a note of it, hasn’t happened. Can’t rate service or what was done when an invoice isn’t left to see what was actually done. When this was a smaller company things were great. You could call directly and speak to someone. Now that they have gotten a lot larger I guess it’s like everything else it’s about all mighty dollar. Not that it will matter to this company but it maybe time to start looking at other options

I called because my oak tree was distressed/dying. The ONLY thing I asked about was if my tree could be saved. I expected someone to see the tree, give their opinion of what may be distressing it and what treatment may save it. I sent a photo of the tree via text and then another photo because the tree was rapidly withering. It was clear the tree was the only reason for my call. A guy came to my house and started spraying the tree. I asked him what he thought was killing it. He said he didn't know. I asked if he thought it was aphids as the person I set up service with did. He responded if it's aphids he would have to spray the entire tree. No one looked at the tree, made opinion about tree or treated the cause. The tree had a fungus that affects oak TREES - NO CHANCE OF RECOVERY. Even the soil around it is affected and I can only plant trees, shrubs that are resistent to the fungus. I WONDER HOW LONG THEY WOULD HAVE CHARGED ME to spray, inject soil, etc. for a DEAD TREE THAT HAD TO BE REMOVED TO STOP SPREADING OF FUNGUS. The guy who set up service with me also asked when I last did a weed/feed of my lawn. I told him I was about to do one. He suggested and I agreed to have Emerald do a weed/feed at that time. He also asked if I wanted my lawn treated for pests, as well as, a specific flea and tick - I agreed. Yard still full of weeds. I was first told that I needed to wait 10 days and I would begin to see the weeds dying. The weeds did not begin dying and new weeds continued to sprout and grow. I was then told that new weeds would continue to grow until they sprayed a pre-emergent herbicide. He further explained that I would need to continue through their year program for it to be effective. I WANTED TO SAVE MY TREE. I agreed to weed/feed with results - not continual contract inorder to see results. I've taken care of my lawn for many, many years and never had the amount of weeds in my yard that I was encouraged to let grow in order to see result. I paid less to find out the tree was killed by a fungus and have the tree removed than I paid Emerald. I didn't receive benefit from Emerald. If they couldn't help with dying trees they should have told me instead of taking my money and continually explaining why was wasn't seeing any results from their "treatments."

Don't recommend. Been using for over a year but my weeds have never been worse. I'm out there every weekend pulling weeds. My lawn looked better when I used to service it myself. I call for a retreat for weeds and it takes them weeks to come. By then the weeds spread everywhere. Waste of money. Look elsewhere. I will be canceling with them.

I strongly advise against using this company. My experience was frustrating from the moment I paid. The sales rep was persistent and responsive when trying to get me to schedule a service—whether recurring or one-time—but that urgency disappeared the moment I paid. After weeks of back-and-forth just to get the service I initially paid for scheduled, I’ve now spent months trying to resolve a billing issue. Months after the first visit, a technician unexpectedly arrived, claiming I was due for a recurring service—one I never signed up for. He couldn’t tell me when I supposedly enrolled in the service or what the cost would be, and it became clear their field tech system isn’t even connected to their billing or scheduling systems. I declined the service on the spot, but was still billed for it. Despite multiple attempts to resolve this, two months later the charge is still not reversed and the invoice remains open. I’ve been told that only one person in the entire DFW area has access to their billing system—and he’s practically unreachable. Bottom line: choose another company for your lawn care needs. The disorganization, lack of accountability, and total breakdown in communication make this company one to avoid. Save yourself the time and headache.

Dwight sprayed for fire ants...and my rep, Mac, said they were short of the other products for the other treatments so they would have to be done at some other time. I waited a few days and called Mac...he failed to call back. As we all know, spring is integral to the look and health of a lawn, so it was very important to get mine done NOW. More days later Emerald lawns left me an email that they were now ready to put down the other treatments. I had lost all confidence in them, was LOADED with fire ants and got rid of Emerald Lawns.

My wife and I have had this lawn service for several months now and the weeds throughout our lawn have NEVER been eliminated during this entire time. We paid $900 in advance for this season's services for this year and have been extremely dissatisfied with the results. Having Emerald Lawns has made ABSOLUTELY NO DIFFERENCE in the quality of our lawn. To make matters worse, Emerald Lawns has noone available to get a hold of on a Saturday. When we do get a hold of someone during the week, they have been EXTREMELY SLOW at getting back to us. Emerald Lawns has proven to be a liability versus an asset to us and our lawn that they service.

These people will not stop calling and texting me. I filled out a form for a quote a few weeks ago, and even though I told the salesperson we went with another service instead, they still call and text me multiple times a day. If I block one salesperson's number, a different one calls me. Today they even showed up at my house, completely unannounced. This is bordering on harassment.

Response from Emerald Lawns

We're sorry to hear about your experience, Kelcey. It's concerning to learn that our follow-up efforts have become overwhelming for you. I've let our team know not to contact you anymore - please don't hesitate to reach out for any of your lawn care or pest control needs in the future!
