Excellent job. Andrew G. addressed all issues in a timely and professional manner. Explained all work and had me inspect the job to ensure my satisfaction. Will definitely have them do any tree work needed in the future. Hire these guys, they are really good.

Quoted me $4500 for root collar excavation and tried to upsell me on a $300 per month, year round fertilization program that they recommended last at least 5 years to help revitalize my live oak. After telling me on-site that the root collar work would be around $1200. Asked for an explanation on why the price tripled and never got a call back. Pure money grab.

We are so pleased with the beautiful transformation of our Live Oak tree, thanks to Andrew, David and Reese; this crew showed up and went right to work. Having a certified arborist who is meticulous about pruning out crossing branches and who genuinely loves what he does for a living is a godsend, for the tree, homeowners, and the neighborhood. We are grateful to SavATree. These three men made a great team, and left the area around our tree undisturbed. They cleared the lawn of all fallen branches, big or small. Now we look out at our tree and see a healthy future for it. We appreciate SavATree.

We had a hickory in our front yard that unfortunately started showing signs of rot in the trunk and roots, inside and out. Jacob was out very quickly to get it looked at, and after confirming it needed to come down, provided a very reasonable quote, thoroughly explained the job, and made sure all my questions were answered. Even though they were booked pretty far out, he identified it as a high priority removal, and they were able to get us on their schedule within a couple weeks. Fast forward to the day of the removal, my wife and I had Andrew leading the job to take the tree down. He let us know when they arrived (on time), explained again what they'd be doing and what his credentials were. We had several plants in the mulch around the base of the tree that we'd assumed would be okay through the removal – Andrew let me know they'd probably get squashed, and then after asking our permission, dug them out of the ground and into plastic pots and set them to the side. The tree removal was completed way, way faster than I expected it to be; I'd been excited to watch it come down, but by the time I was back from a morning errand they were done. Andrew replanted the plants, and they've all survived! After checking in with us one more time, they said goodbye and took off. Highly recommend, would use them again – super professional, super speedy, super thorough, super careful.

The crew did an excellent job on my palms and cleaned everything up afterwards. Also polite and professional. There was a team of four so they were very efficient.

I’ve been using this company for years before they were bought out. They now charge an insane amount to prune palm trees compared to what we’ve always paid. While I understand things like this happen when a new owner comes in, what I can’t understand is the extreme lack of communication. The arborist we worked with was terrible with responding to emails or calling us back in a timely manner. After not getting a response from him for over a week, he showed up at our home, unannounced, asking to look at our trees for a second time after I’d sent multiple photos along with a description of the work we were requesting a quote for. We will no longer be giving Charleston Tree Experts our business, nor will we recommend them to friends and neighbors.

We had Sav A Tree do a project in our neighborhood. Their price was very competitive. They arrived on time and worked diligently on the project. It was great meeting and working with Matt and Marshall. They paid attention to the details of the job and completed the job on time. Unfortunately I can't say how well they do their job. They seemed knowledgeable, so that's good at least. But hopefully I can offer some constructive criticism for communicating with the customer. Because I'm a bit upset with how things played out. I made a call to these guys to make an appointment, wasn't told the process, didn't realize it was just a consult. That was the first thing that rubbed me wrong. Figured someone would show up with tools, give me a price, and get to work when I gave the go. This was our first time getting yard work done professionally. So idk how it works. That's a little on me for lack of research. I recommend this company has the person performing the consult to check/verify the customer's email, since you guys do everything through email, which is fine. I had to call them two more times (they got my email wrong and only certain people can change the email apparently? I had to get on the phone like 4-5 times, me calling them twice, they calling me back 2-3 times roughly) even that didn't fix it or give me the link. It wasn't until I emailed as a last ditch effort I finally got the link. Not overly fond of the link system. Absolutely no heads up on when they'd be out BEFORE you accept business through the link. No time period, nothing that I saw anyway, did my best to read it. It's not until after you click the link when i was finally told they'd be out 1-6 weeks I think it was? Which was quite the time range. But after about 3 weeks I get a call telling me they lost crew members and can't even make it out to my house. That was very frustrating and the last straw for me. And if I would've known it would be up to 6 weeks at the beggining? It would've been nice to go through someone else. My bushes were already overgrown like crazy but now they are almost completely taking up my walkway and a lot of my lawn. Very hard to mow around. Sorry for the bad review, but man that was a lot to go through just to be left hanging. I'm aware losing crew members was out of your control, And sorry for that. But there were plenty of things that are within your control that weren't handled amazingly in my opinion. But hopefully with more time you get a better system down. Best of luck to you guys.

Ruined Memorial Day in the neighborhood. Chainsaws and wood chippers going from 9am to 3pm, and still going. Very disrespectful. Re: owner's June 27 reply I agree it is unfortunate that many folks these days do not know what Memorial Day is all about. I think it is a day to remember and honor those who gave their lives for our country. It is a somber day, and one of reflection. It's not about putting in a day of hard work. It's a holiday after all. You can work if you want, but you completely disrupted the entire neighborhood with deafening noise all day long. That job should have been done some other day.

Do NOT use this company. Was given a quote to take out a large oak felled by Dorian and told that it included hauling off debris. The crew that showed up was a joke, didn’t bring needed equipment, had no idea how big the job was, obviously had no clue what to do, got a chain saw stuck in a limb and left it there, running, started randomly cutting the tree and then dropped on my fence and denied responsibility for it. I told them to leave my yard. Amy then denied she ever said debris would be hauled off and Marshall told me to find another tree service. Incredibly bad experience.

Missy, I must apologize for the dis-satisfactory experience. Uprooted trees pose great risk and hazard in tree removal. There is a lot of weight redistributed to pressure points throughout the tree that are exponentially more difficult to navigate than traditional removal of a standing tree. In the days following a hurricane our assets and resources are stretched thin working to restore normalcy to the lives, homes and landscapes of and for folks like yourself. Hurricanes are fatiguing to tree services. In this situation we failed to meet your expectations. We take it as a learning experience to continue to improve ourselves to prevent this type scenario from occurring again. Please accept my sincere apology for not providing a satisfactory experience.
Called for mulch to be delivered by 9:00am because I was going to work at 9:00. They said they'd be here between 8-9:00. They showed up at 9:05, as I was leaving. Mulch, all 17 cu. yds of it, was mostly dirt. Wouldn't use them again.
