I had my outside vents guarded by a competitive company a few years ago. A couple of weeks ago my dryer started displaying a code which meant there was severe exhaust ventilation restriction. After the snow melted and i was able to see the outside guard I freaked out as it was filled to the rim with lint which was also bulging through the guard. I could see that this was a fire waiting to happen. I called Critter Guard and Joe called me back immediately. He reassured me that he has seen this often with the type of plastic guard originally installed. He told me he would be here the following morning which he was . He even showed up before our appointment time and waited. He showed me the guard he was going to install which made perfect sense and i wished i knew this existed during my original installation. Joe was respectful of my property and very knowledgeable and professional. I highly recommend Critter Guard.

Nate and Joe were great…showed up on time and did a great job…fixed the damage caused by the Critters and put a 2 way door in so they can leave, but never return…very, very happy with the job and price!

Very professional job by Critter Guard! Nathan came out to assess the situation with informative explanations and photos showing main and potential other access points my raccoon friend was using to make a living quarters in between my ceiling and roof. Joe came out to seal off some points and install a one-way temporary access door on the main point to give our little friend a chance to get out (to later realize the 'locks' were changed.. lol). A second visit later down the road to remove the door and permanently seal the area. He provided photos of the work done, and our friend has not returned. Both gentlemen were friendly and professional. So worth it!

We had a raccoon problem for 3 months. Other companies could not identify the entry point. These guys figured it out quickly and solved the problem at a reasonable price. We highly recommend them !

Nathan from Critter Guard did a fantastic job getting rid of the raccoon in our attic! He was courteous, timely, and communicated everything clearly. Not only did they “evict” the raccoon with the “lock-out” door, they also did a fantastic job of cleaning up the animal feces and sanitizing the attic space. Affordable. Highly recommend.

I had a mysterious problem on my raised paver patio. There was a pile of dirt, rocks and rubble that appeared after a few days away. Thought it could be something tunneling into my raised paver patio. I contacted Critter Guard and was greeted warmly and efficiently. Told I would get a call back and sure enough within 2 hours Nathan called. We arranged for him to come the next day, We happen to be away again - but no problem since the trouble was all exterior. Nathan let me know he was in his way the next morning arriving around 9am. He gave me a thorough texted report. He wisely suggested I get a paver contractor to fill the gaps and holes because he admittedly couldn’t match the mortar color, Nathan was more concerned about maintaining my backyard aesthetic than making a few bucks. I wasn’t charged for the visit or diagnosis. These are upstanding people who deserve your business. I hope not to need them, but if I do - they will be my first call.

So glad my husband found Critter Guard. We had a serious squirrel issue. We tried everything to remove the squirrels ourselves. My husband saw Critter Guard trucks in our area. He contacted them and they responded quickly. They were very professional and they cleaned up as if they were never there. I am happy to say we have not a a squirrel since. Call Critter Guard they provide excellent service.

We are very happy with the services provided by Critter Guard on two occasions. From initial contact to completion of the job they were prompt, courteous, and professional. Once we had a raccoon nest in our chimney and they took care of it humanely, quickly and effectively. Another time we had a raccoon visiting our attic and again they did a great job getting it out and securing the attic vents to prevent return. We would certainly recommend them to anyone needing their services.

Joe is a great and caring person. I was recommended by "Mike the Bug Guy". I arrived at work one day and heard what I thought was maybe cats fighting in the ceiling. I almost died when I could hear something big walking across the ACT! In a panic I called Mike the Bug Guy and he immediately got me in touch with Joe. Joe came right out and inspected. Saw something chewed a hole into the roof! Traps were baited and set. He returned and over several days caught a huge feisty male and a smaller male. He took them away and released them far far away lol. He repaired the roof, shingles and all. Week or so later I arrived to another chewed hole above the entrance and Joe came right back, thankfully! Got a squirrel al couple of time and took him away, then another male and finally a poor mangy female that he took to cedar run for care. Repaired that part of the roof too. So thankful! He's super knowledgeable as far as what to do and why regarding male, female, possible babies and how to handle each situation. He really cares! He's not just collecting a payment he is good at what he does. Highly recommend! Support local small business! Thank you Joe!

Made me wait 90 minutes then said the job was too tricky to do. Grrr!

Provider response

In response to your uncalled bad review, please see below a statement from the tech:

I take my clients requests and inspections seriously therefore the previous inspection lasted longer than initially expected. Upon my discovery it was running long I immediately messaged this client to let her know of my coming and goings as I don’t ever want a client to think I am ignoring or forgot them. Upon arrival she already had wanted to cancel as she was waiting for a meeting. After a brief back and forth she relented that I could check the ground at that moment as I was already there. When I walked up to the door I was greeting with “I have been waiting I have a meeting I can show you where and then I must leave. “ I had no problem with that as I have done that a million times before, that being said it does make the process easier and painless as I can then explain my findings right there on the spot in this instance that wasn’t applicable. As soon as I understood it was more of an undertaking then just pulling a dead carcass from underneath I porch I had reached out to her to inform her. After which she gave me a snarky comment and then proceeded to not answer further messages. At which point she must have posted this review. I want to state that in no way shape or form was she charged for anything related to this inspection/removal as I couldn’t get my hands onto it therefore it would not have been fair to charge her at that point. If she was willing to discuss further and be more receptive to the back and forth I could have eventually figured out a solution for her issue. I hope she has good day and gets this issue resolved regardless as the smell was strong. Attached to the messages of the image I sent of the specific situation the hole is surrounded by concrete on multiple sides making the accessibility minimal. With my flashlight and a 4 foot grabber I was unable to locate the carcass. More than likely as I had stated a more serious undertaking would have to be done to remove this animal based on my findings.

Two years later and we still have bats. Trying our luck now with another company since Critter Guard couldn’t bat proof it even after spending over 1k.

Provider response

Two years ago, your house was bat proofed. A simple windstorm can simply create new damage for critters to get in. Our warranty is not that you will never have bats again, our warranty is that in the event bats return to your home within the warranty time frame we will fix it free of charge. Your warranty ran out a year ago, and we still reached out to you after this comment and were going to come out again on our dime to fix your issue. However, you refused to answer the phone but rather leave a bad review on a job from two years ago when anything could have happened between then and now. Your complaint is invalid. We came out in August of 2022 and sealed your home up. Then we came out in June 2023 after reporting you saw a bat and found new possible opening and sealed them. Then we came out in August of 2023 and again sealed up your house after finding new damage. And then we came out again in September of 2023 and did another coat of sealing to double up on what we did for FREE. So, in the end, we tried to come out last week and you refused to answer the phone even when we weren't going to charge you.

The Critter Guard team did an excellent job removing the critter that had created a large hole in my backyard next to the house foundation. I would have given them a five star rating except that they were slow on email contact and did not inform me when the critter was removed. I discovered that by myself.

Provider response

Thank you for your feedback. We're glad to hear that our team did an excellent job removing the critter from your backyard. We apologize for any delays in email communication and for not informing you when the critter was removed. Your comments will be shared with our team for improvement. Thank you for choosing Critter Guard.

Received an estimate and decided I didn't need trapping but the other services. I was told this was fine and would be scheduled. A week passed and the response was we will do the job this week and the practice continued for awhile. After a few weeks of this, I emailed and asked do they have plans to do the job and someone replied no it's not worth it to us. They should have been upfront. Honesty and professionalism seem to be lacking.

Provider response

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Unfortunately, when it comes to wildlife removal there is typically a multi-step process our professionals need to follow in order to fully remediate the situation properly and effectively. As we are in the height of our
busy season our techs are trying to make the most of their time all while trying to assure our customers will not need them to come back out any time in the near future. If after the inspection the proposal includes a trapping, it's because our company wants to make sure that the nuisance animal will not return as they always do to further cause stress and destruction. Without the trapping there is no guarantee that the animal will not continue to destroy your property time and time again. We apologize for any miscommunication, if you would like to request our services for a quality job from start to finish to make sure the wildlife is removed and does not return to cause more damage, please feel free to contact us.

Got verbal estimate for entire job told will send it in writing in a few minutes. Written estimate came > $500 higher. Asked what caused the increase, no explanation.

Provider response

Did you try to call and speak to a supervisor or the owner to see if it may have been a mistake? This type of issue sounds like it should have been handled with the office directly, not go Stright to a google review that hurts our long-term repetition when no work was even preformed at your location when this could have been a miss-Commnication or a human error of the charge. I would kindly ask to remove this review and call the office so this can be worked out. I also spoke with the tech that was are your home and he said everything was explained properly. So again, I feel this may be a miss-understanding. Thanks

There was a snake in my house, I called for help, told them my name and address and what was going on and was told I would receive a call back when someone was on the way. Never received a call back and when I called they offered no reasoning why they hadn't shown up. Had to catch the snake myself and released it at a wildlife refuge.

Provider response

This review makes no sense, if you looked at our hours of operation on google, it clearly says we are closed at 6pm and the call log says you called at 6:02 which was answered by a 24-hour call service that is 3rd party and only relays information to our company when we are closed for business. So, the fact that we were closed at 6, of course no one was coming out and your call would have been returned at 7am when we open. We are a private business not the County Animal Control. In fact, this review is unfair since you did not read our hours of operation and I would kindly ask that you take this down.

So unprofessional!! Paid 500 dollars for them to stop out once and set trap and have called for four days straight to have groundhog removed from my backyard and no response from anyone. Used the same cage I bought and have had a groundhog in a cage for four days in my back yard. Find a better reliable company. After writing this I spoke to Joe the manager and he seems like a good guy. He got the problem fixed for me and I really hope I have a better experience next time. I will try them again after speaking with him.
