Lawn Doctor of Warren

Lawn Doctor of Washington (Warren) NJ killed large portions of my lawn. When this was reported I was told by LD that the dead areas were where the weeds died. I know these were not weeds but dead grass because I mow my own lawn. Then they came back this spring (2026) and treated my grass without my permission, “for my convenience”. Buyer beware, dead grass and unauthorized service.

Spelled "lyme" wrong on the envelope/mailer they sent. Meant "lyme (disease)" but wrote "lime" like scale

I have used them for over a decade, and my lawn looks fabulous. Great service and reasonably priced

I recommend Lawn Doctor of Warren as they are a solid lawn care provider. Their regular treatments keep the weeds under control and the grass staying green.

I have been using Lawn Doctor for about 20 years as they do a great job! I have received many compliments on my lawn and it is because of Lawn Doctor! They are there are for the services that I request and they do not pressure me to do more. Over the years, they have provided helpful solutions for issues like grubs that do not come out every year, but when they you do, just one treatment from Lawn Doctor and they are gone for many, many years. Their workers are always polite and they always call the day before coming so if I need to change the date of the service, I can do that. I find them consistent and reliable and will stay with them!

Have been using Lawn Doctor for 30+years. We never need to worry about being oversold services with this crew. We did finally decide to core aerate and overseed this year..... 😍 Beautiful ❤️ outcome. Just love the guys who work this this franchise....They rock !!!

We had a lawn in pretty bad shape from slugs a couple of years ago and had Lawn Doctor treat it. The issue was corrected and we have been using Lawn Doctor ever since and our lawn is lush and free of weeds. So many of our neighbors have commented on how nice we keep our lawn. I would highly recommend their services. They always let us know when they are coming and always show up.

Haven’t even used Lawn Doctor but I was walking dogs in Hackettown neighborhood this morning and an amazing man in a Lawn Doctor van noticed a deer following me and the dogs and helped scare her off. Coolest thing I’ve seen

Lawn Doctor of Warren has serviced my lawn for quite a few years. I have found them to be reliable, responsive and very responsive. I highly recommend them.

I have been disappointed in the communication and somewhat of the results. They are continuously trying to up charge me with additional services. I thought I had a complete service for my lawn. I actually paid fully in advance. When I asked for a schedule, I was treated rudely. I would not recommend this service at this time.

They will put you on automatic renewal even if you don’t have any intention of retaining their services after the year prior. Seems scammy to do that.

This is my 2nd year with Lawn Doctor. The first year with the 6 visit service program was great. My lawn looked lush and green. This year is/was not the same. The first service of the year they failed to spray for weeds and the service summary stated they did with a detailed amount of chemical used. I know they didn’t spray because I spoke to the technician who performed the service and he stated it was too cold and the chemical would freeze and harm the lawn. I pursued this with my account rep and he said it was too cold and that weeds were not active yet so they didn’t spray. Then why was I charged in full for the service?. At the current time, my lawn is 50% dead due to a fungus or disease. I am the only one who uses Lawn Doctor in the neighborhood and the ONLY one showing this. The lawn has been dying all season and I first thought it was due to the heat waves and lack of rain and hoped it would come back by now like everyone else. Wrong! I don’t know how I got this fungus or if it might have been tracked from their equipment from somebody else’s lawn. At no time did my technician make an observation or comment on the service summary about this fungus/disease as they are supposed to do so it could be addressed before it got to the current state. My account rep came out and said core aeration/overseeing would fix the problem as well as the season change. Anything to get you spend more on services instead of addressing the problem with fungicide. Big problem is that with no rain, the end of the growing season and leaves falling on my now one acre of dirt, I can’t water that much due to the size of my property and having a well. I also observed that their service summary states how many pounds of chemical were used. I doubt that this is accurate but is just a guess based upon their machine setting and amount of coverage. Again, the cost is based upon these amounts of fertilizer/weed control used. Just a warning. Watch what they do. You are better off with DIY. They will not be back next year as I will have to start rebuilding my lawn. 11/2024. Just another update. DO NOT USE LAWN DOCTOR, IMO! The remaining lawn continues to die, not go dormant due to the ongoing drought as they have stated. I have cancelled my contract with them and will go with Tru-Green for fungicide treatments next year. I am completely unsatisfied with the services that were provided. The grass seed that was spread is still laying on the dirt after 6 weeks. Make sure you can water everywhere after services are performed.

The absolute definition of a scam. We paid to get service done and a tech claimed to have completed the work. We have cameras on every angle of our property…and no one showed up. When we followed up with the owner, they started to gaslight us. We invited them to come review the Ring camera footage and of course they made excuses. Point is they are obviously doing this to unsuspecting customers…making you pay for doing nothing to your lawn. Avoid at all costs unless you like to get scammed.

They can’t even simply grow the grass. They blame Mother Nature and the soil… but don’t want be hold accountable… they just want to charge for each visit without guaranteeing on anything… free recall service is a scam

I was serviced by young person on 5/31/24. He sprayed weed control on my flower garden. My flowers that was growing well are all dead. He was not supposed to spray a 5’ radius of my vegetable-raised garden because of chemical issues, he sprayed all around the garden. I am very upset by sending a non-trained person to my yard to destroy all the gardens that I worked for the last 3 months. I’ve never experienced this kind of disappointment.

We had the 6 step program with lawn doctor. We noticed that our grass seems to pull up very easily and that despite having numerous weed control service with them we started seeing some weeds coming back out front. I emailed Mason who is our contact and told him of the issues. We did have them do a grub service as well but never ever have we seen any grubs so we were concerned there is a turf issue. I explained to Mason that I want someone to come out when I am home which is 3 days a week plus weekends so I can walk with them and show them where the problems are. Today one of my work days they show up and left me a paper saying everything looks great. I called and spoke with Mason and conveyed how upset I was since I told him to please come when I am home. He insisted he sent me several emails saying he could not guarantee he could do that yet I have no emails to that affect. Now I have all his other emails he sent me but not those??? How convenient on their part. He said there is absolutely nothing wrong with our lawn. I said you weren’t out back he said I looked over the gate and saw nothing and the grass is green. I said yes the grass is very green that’s not my concern. At that point he was disrespectful and kept saying there’s nothing wrong and we only come out for service calls at no charge if there is a problem and there’s not. He then said if you have some bald spots you need seeding. Hint hint I guess for their aeration and seeding. I said what’s good if we seed if there is turf issues he just kept fighting me on why he didn’t see anything when he looked. You can’t see the areas of you are not in the back yard but he didn’t want to hear it. We are discontinuing their services and would highly NOT recommend them especially if it’s in Masons territory. They are nothing but a chain who could care less and won’t satisfy the customer. I wanted him to come back at some point so I could show him but NOPE!!!! They are a rip off!!!!!

I was all ready to set up services with this branch and was told I had to give a credit card to be billed automatically every month. I told the gentleman I don't ever pay any bills on automatic and I would need a paper bill so that I can pay them every month. He told me they do not do that for any customer. I asked to speak to someone higher up and he told me they said they can't talk to me and that automatic payment is the only method of payment they will accept. To boot, I come to find out a family friend uses them for years and they get a paper bill in their mailbox with every visit and their credit card is not on file. Perhaps because they were speaking to woman they decided to treat me as such? Definitely will not recommend them and am going to be using their competitor instead.

These guys are a joke. I have decent size lawn and they just left me a bill saying that they watered it to a depth of 6 to 8 inches, their company was here for less than 5 minutes! It would take at least 2 hours to water it to 1 inch. Don’t waste your money.

Their website says "Our expert will help you determine which treatments your lawn needs for fuller, healthier growth and will provide you with an estimate for lawn services from Lawn Doctor of Hackettstown." yet they will ONLY give a price over the phone. They said "they don't send sales staff to homes to look at properties anymore!" My yard has dead spots, lush thick grass and areas that are thinning. I need someone to come and tell me what can be done and what it will cost. Not this let me pull up your house on a computer so I can look at the property from Google Maps. If you can't put effort in designing a plan based on what the customer actually needs then I don't need your business.
