Christian and Haden were great! They respectfully answered my questions and did what I asked. They assured my confidence to continue to use this company.

Excellent customer service and attention to detail.

The company sent two inexperienced 20-year-olds to expand a flower bed, plant dozens of new pachysandra plants, remove a tree, resod damaged areas and plant a new tree. They botched the pachysandra planting, damaged a neighbor's yard and laid new sod without placing enriched soil under it leaving it as an indentation in the lawn. Also refused to properly repair neighbor's damage lawn. One worker noted they wanted to get back to mowing. They had little or no knowledge of how to do the landscape work. Phone calls to the office requesting a call from the man who prepared the initial estimate were ignored. Also I firmly stated to "R" in the office, that the two young men were NOT to return to my property to correct the mess. That request was ignored and they came the next day to finish the botched job. They also left a pile of mulch in the street that extended into my neighbor's lawn which my wife and I cleaned up. We had previously used the company for lawn cleanup and expected the same professional service. That didn't happen. Do NOT RECOMMEND this company.

I couldn't be happier with MJR; they never disappoint! I always hire them for fall leaf pick up, and I recently hired them to clean up a wildly overgrown section of my yard. Christian and Wes were prompt, courteous, and efficient and finished the job beyond my expectations. Worth every penny!

One of the easiest and stress free contractors I have worked with since moving to Grand Rapids: easy to schedule and pay; technicians are professional and willingly share information and answer questions. As a now 70 year old woman, I want to underscore how much I appreciate the excellent lawn service and, equally, not having to worry that I will be disrespected or taken advantage of.

Unfortunately, I tried to set up a quote from MJR twice but never heard back from them. I had to fill out their google form twice as well because for some reason the first one did not go through. I also called them 3 times over the month of April trying to ask them to come out and look at my yard and get us going. The gentleman on the phone was really nice and told me that another gentleman would call me back to set it up. I did that twice and the second gentleman never called me. I had to go with another lawn service due to lack of response from MJR. I’m kind of bummed because their reviews are so high from everyone else and they were my number 1 choice/the company I reached out to first. The job we needed done was also a large one that was stressful for us to figure out as first time home owners, so the fact that they never reached out or called me after I attempted 3 times made the experience worse. Sorry to leave the bad review but I thought you guys should know so this hopefully doesn’t happen to anyone else in the future. Thanks for your time!

Great service at a great rate! MJR is the place to go for lawn care in Grand Rapids! Their Weed Hammer system keeps my yard green and weed-free and is the best lawn care system I have used. My back yard is usable now with their incredible Mosquito Hammer system. I live in a swamp and mosquitoes stay away from the outdoor areas we use. Excellent company!

Had MJR do some landscape work on the complex this week. The work included removing some very tough vines. We thought it would be marginally successful, but Jade and Levi did a masterful job in removing them. Those guys are real lifesavers. The area now looks great! Thanks for the pro-level work.

MJR was hired to do a huge Spring cleanup of my leaf-covered yard. They did a fantastic job. The men worked quickly and carefully around all my yard items. It looks great!

I have had a few services done in the past with MJR Landscape. Always great to utilize a local company that does awesome work! Last year we tried the "Mosquito Hammer" treatment, and let's just say it hit the nail on the head (pun intended). No more bug spray and tiki torches needed here! We will be back again.

I recently had the pleasure of witnessing the professionalism and dedication of MJR Landscaping, particularly one of their employees, Kai. Kai handled a tree-trimming job in our strata with great care and communication. Rather than rushing into the task, he took the time to assess the situation and listen to the surrounding homeowners’ concerns. The tree was in its early blossom stage, and there were differing opinions about how it should be trimmed. Kai ensured that all voices were heard before proceeding, consulting with both his boss and a strata council member to make sure everyone was aligned. His attention to detail and commitment to proper communication were commendable. The end result was a well-managed job that considered the needs of both the tree and the community. If you're looking for a landscaping company that values professionalism, communication, and quality work, I highly recommend MJR Landscaping—especially with employees like Kai on the team!

Very rude customer service! I called them to schedule an appointment as a new customer. I asked them some questions and the lady who answered the call refused to answer.I will never call them again.

Good service until this year! They reached out to confirm my pick up, took CC #, then tell me I'm "outside their service area" Been to my house 3 years running, suddenly this year, no go? Thanks for leafing me in a bind! Sad way for a local small business to be run....Ask upfront if they'll even come to you address!!! Update: Mike the owner called to apologize fir mass mix up. Hard to make that call....but it speaks volumes. Overall good work when ur in their svc area....11.30.23

I set up an appointment through their web sight for curb side leaf pickup service. After they charged my credit card $69.00, I was informed that the soonest they could get to my property was 10 days from that date. When I called to find out why, they just gave the old excuse that they were backed up. So apparently it was ok to take my money w/o informing me of this ridiculous wait time. I will NEVER do business with this unscrupulous company again. Just a friendly warning!

They refuse to give me a quote or service. I wouldn't recommend this place. There are better professional services available in other areas of Grand Rapids!

I would NOT recommend this company AT ALL. They came out and gave an estimate to remove about a pickup-truck load of cut down lawn hedges. The other estimates in town came up around $200 and they wanted to charge DOUBLE. They claimed this project that took less than 3 hours to dig up all the hedges would take 4 hours to load into a truck. Then the guy called me at home and proceeded to tell me about how I was wrong and it was a big job. Don't use their service, unless you want to get gouged and taken advantage of. If you have lawn waste to remove, it would be cheaper to rent a huge dumpster for a week (seriously, much cheaper). Terrible business.
