While tending to our chickens we found a swarm of honey bees foraging the floor of the coop. Thus we were unable to service the chickens needs, and were very concerned for their safety. We contacted the Guild, and they explained why this was happening and what our options were , as well as the pro's and cons of each option, including the safety of the chickens as well as the preservation of the bees. As we are very conscientious ecologically, we fully appreciate the value of honey bees to the environment and the food chain. Thus we found this information invaluable, and were then able to formulate a plan to address our predicament without harming the bees or the chickens.
