I love to work with Kurt at Accurate Inspections. He is so knowledgeable and walks buyers through all aspects of the home. He is a safe bet when looking for your next home.
My wife and I had an inspection done on a house we are buying and the inspector, Dakotah, did an amazing job. Took his time, had attention to little details we would have never caught, explained everything easy to understand. Give that man a raise

The only inspectors you'll ever need!
Very talented individuals that tell like it is. They work hard to let buyers know what they have and if needed how to remedy the situation.
We worked with Paul, Dan and Chandler for home inspection, well/septic and pest. They were all super helpful, thorough, and great to work with! Highly recommend Accurate inspections! As first time home buyers, they truly made this process super smooth and educated us along the way.

Jason and his team are knowledgeable and thorough. They combed through the property and gave us a detailed report. Dealing with their office staff was fast and pleasant. Highly Recommend.
Dakotah did a great job. He was knowledgably about all aspects of the home and answered all of my questions. He didn't rush and took the time to make sure everything was correct.
The best inspections I have ever had. Customer service is setting the bar. Ask for Dakota for the home inspection.
I had a condominium inspected and Jeff offered a very thorough explanation of the property leaving me with confidence and with minimal concerns. Friendly and personable is always a plus, I would highly recommend!
I’ve referred Kurt Roth, with Accurste Inspections, many times. I have confidence that each time Kurt does an inspection, for one my clients, I know they have the best of the best!

My husband Donald, left a correct review about Jason Murton’ “alleged “ inspection on the Home we were purchasing and the fact that he missed the lack of any structural supports not just in our report but also missed it when he inspected this same home 4.5 yrs ago. What kills me is that they suck so bad, that after the review, all of a sudden Jason has everyone he’s ever met leave a “great review” and then add insult to injury, his lawyer says he doesn’t have “e/o insurance”. Real estate agents only use this company when they are wanting to make a quick sale. It’s okay, God has a way of punishing those who do wrong to their fellow man. Don’t use him! And here we go……all ur friends or associate's, don’t get a email from google saying you got a bad review and can you please leave him a good one. It’s a tactic to bring your ratings score up. Lame.
If you are a first time home owner, or question some of the things inside the house don’t use Accurate Inspections. I had accurate inspections do the initial inspection on my house as a first time home buyer. Jeff never stepped foot on my roof that the seller claimed was “brand new” (turns out it was done incorrectly and had to be completely ripped off and redone). After this surfaced so did a slew of other issues - The deck boards on the house had pink x’s on them visible from the attic. Jeff never took the time to explain what this meant, or that it meant there was precious water damage and they weren’t up to the city code. - Jeff marked the “yes” box for plumbing permits pulled, this was actually false and the seller had not pulled any permits for any of the work he did including the water heater, bathroom remodel, ect. - The downstairs bathroom was an addition and not permitted, it has incorrect plumbing and isn’t large enough to be a bathroom. We had to remove this whole bathroom after purchase with no prior knowledge this was even a thing. - The upstairs bathroom tub access panel was never looked at nor the tub water tested by Jeff. Guess what, the subfloor for the tub was installed incorrectly (which is visible from the access panel accurate chose not to inspect because Jeff said “I don’t want to remove the trim”. The bathtub now leaks and has to be completed ripped out and remodeled so we can correct the subfloor. - Jeff also never mentioned the siding- there are places where piping comes out / electrical goes in that are not sealed correctly and will not pass the city inspection, not to mention water is able to enter as it is not sealed. Also, a permit for the siding & roof was never mentioned during the inspection (or the lack of a permit in this case). These are just a couple of the major issues that Accurate missed. The $30,000-$50,000 in work that we now have to complete that could have been caught in an inspection would have kept us from buying this house, but we thought it was okay. Jason did come out to write a letter for us for mediation, but it wasn’t super detailed nor did it take responsibility for anything. When asked for a refund I was denied. As a first time home buyer I will be using a different company on my next house, and I suggest you do too unless you want to end up with your own “money pit”.
Response from Accurate Inspections, LLC
We are sorry that your experience with our company was not satisfactory. We strive for excellence and all of our inspectors here are very thorough in their inspections. Please give our office a call so we can help remediate this issue. 517-669-2196
Accurate inspections can tell you where to caulk, tell you your stove top works, that you should install a clip to keep the oven from tipping over, but they will not find $12k plumbing issues in the basement. The list of things they do not do, at the bottom of their useless report, is a list of all the important things they should do, and all of the things that are important. They cover their behinds with these disclosures making their service an absolute waste of money and time.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!! Don't know how they're rated 4.0 star, check reviews on Angie's List. I was told by my inspector that I had at least a couple years left on my primary roof. The report only states that the sun porch (not connected to our primary roof) needed repair. During the inspection and on the report the inspector failed to mention, or document the numerous holes in our roof. Unfortunately, we purchased our home and had our first rain. The water was free-flowing into our attic and down through our recessed electrical fixtures. Given that there were plenty of water spots in the attic to indicate failure, the box that the inspector checked on the report "roof appears to be functional" is not accurate to the true condition. Clearly box 4 should have been checked. I am now facing a $20k+ roof replacement and I've only been here a couple weeks. I approached the company and asked for them to clearly point out where exactly in the report it states that my primary roof (not the sun porch) was failing and they could not do so. They are also refusing to accept fault on their end. Save yourself and please don't use this company!
Response from Accurate Inspections, LLC
Shannon, thanks for taking the time to review our company. When first contacted we immediately reviewed the report and returned all communication with you. Our review shows more than ten places in the report that the roof needs attention. If a roof is leaking and the previous owner does not disclose that fact, we can only report on what we see at the time of inspection. We indicated the roof needs attention.
We used Accurate Inspections to inspect a home we were purchasing. They were not thorough. The report we were given was just check boxes of stuff I could have filled out as a layman. I will just leave the facts on here to allow readers to make their own determination of how accurate Accurate Inspections is. 1. The inspection on a 3500 square foot house took 30 minutes. We really trusted our old inspection company and the sole proprietor has since retired. He would take about 2-3 hours to go through the house. 2. We have large trees on this property so the inspector advised us to regularly clean out the gutters. The gutters are easily reached by one of the ladders Accurate brought with them. After purchase I found out that we have gutter guards. Accurate had no idea. 3. Three wood windows in the house are rotted and in need of replacement. Completely missed by Accurate. 4. One window has a crack and the seal is broken. Completely missed by Accurate. 5. Accurate pointed out a large support beam in the basement and said it doesn't support anything and is not necessary. Actually it supports the giant brick fireplace that sits on it. This is important as the inspector told me I could remove the beam if I wanted to. 6. There is a back up sump pump in the basement crock. So the house has two sump pumps. One higher than the other in the event that the first fails the second should protect. Completely missed this. The recommendation was to add a backup pump system. There are already two here. The second being a back-up. When the inspector told me his recommendation to install a back-up sump pump I told him there was already a back up pump. The response, "Oh really, I missed that". 7. I questioned the inspector about some corrosion on the water line to one of the toilet. He shrugged it off. In fact the floor was rotted and had to be fixed prior to installing a new toilet. My recommendation - find another company. I sincerely could have done a similar inspection that Accurate did on our future home. In my opinion this is just a way for them to make money. There is no real inspection of the home. I compare it to looking at a soiled diaper from ten feet and saying that diaper is clean. Thanks for reading this far! Update: The owner of the company, the individual who responded to my review, did call me an apologized. He was actually extremely nice and told me that the inspector and the pest inspector dropped the ball. I appreciated this and I think him admitting this is very admirable. He offered to refund the inspection and the pest inspection as he believed even if the inspector missed the rotted wood the pest inspection should have caught it. I am glad that the owner took responsibility, which is something most businesses refuse to do. While I appreciate the gesture I am still left with $12,000 in window replacements that we did not know was necessary.. We relied on the inspection to discover these things. Had we of known about the wood rot at the inspection we could have gone to the sellers and negotiated.

First let me thank you for taking the time to write a review of Jason's inspection.

Second, we will forward a full refund of the inspection fee. The entire process of buying and selling real estate has become very difficult for everyone involved and we did not meet your expectations.

Our records differ from yours in that we show Jason arriving onsite at 11:25am and leaving at 1:40. We show your arrival at or about 12:45pm for the inspection review. This was done according to the Governor's Executive Order regarding home inspections and real estate transactions. We have no knowledge of any other times that you may have been there.

The characterizations of Jason attitude being surly and/or nonchalant is not in keeping with his decades of inspecting houses. He sits on national committees, is active with the local real estate association and has the respect of inspectors in the United States and Canada.
We are sorry you felt like we did not care. We do.
Really poor quality inspections. Very unprofessional, missed many things. Never answers calls. Realtors often recommend them because they're trying to sell the house as smoothly as possible and In-accurate inspections will gloss over alot of problems. Highly unethical and I would call into question the ethics of any of the realtors on here rating them so highly as well.
Response from Accurate Inspections, LLC
We have no idea who this person is. Most of the information is patently incorrect. Much of the information is plainly false. Please call our office. I promise we will respond
Because you cannot choose no stars....They did NOT catch the majority of MAJOR issues with this house! Never would have bought it had I known up front. No one returns calls, even left messages for the owner - nothing. Totally scammed me. I am sure they will respond with their canned "we don't know this person, this information is false... blah blah blah". Trust me, It is correct.
Response from Accurate Inspections, LLC
Robin, we valued our client relationship with you for more than a year. I offer no excuses, nor will I refute that we did an inspection(s) for you. A careful review of the last inspection reveals that we found and reported more than 35 major defective items as well as warning you about the worn out plumbing and unsafe electrical entrance and system. Your review did prompt me to research and calculate our "complaint" rate. It is .004% and we are working to lower that. four thousandths of one percent.
If you aren't a DIY type of person or nervous about buying a home it's in your best interest to avoid this company. They will downplay the severity of several issues (like a water heater may normally leak a little despite this one being rusted almost all the way through) or completely ignore them. Actually told me that asbestos in the walls was a good thing because its a good insulator and I won't have to replace it. We paid $400 for our inspection that lasted all of half an hour and only focused on the things that his company would be able to fix if we contracted them while ignoring other issues. Exaggerated the severity of things like they "won't let you buy this house without GFCI outlets". Didn't buy the house as the whole deal seemed shady when they advised me not to tell my lender some things wrong with the house but make sure I had an escrow account for repairs. I had another inspector at a different house (which we actually bought) do a more thorough inspection elsewhere for about 1/2 of that Definitely not worth the price. Poor quality compared to value Les Van Alstine is one of those guys that looks good on paper, knows it all, tells you what sounds good and then ignores you after he's paid. No responsiveness, won't return calls or follow up unless there is a possibility that he can get gravy jobs or drum up repeat business. The guy markets himself as a skilled tradesman with all his experience but he's more of a sleazy conman. Edit: it literally highlights his background in individual trades and construction on their website. The only 100% bogus is the company's response to legitimate complaints. See attached photo of receipt. Prime example of lack of accountability of this company.
Response from Accurate Inspections, LLC
We have no idea who this person is. Nothing in the review is valid nor factual; price, time, inspector, etc. Les Van Alstine did not do this inspection, is not a tradesman, and certainly not a "sleazy conman".

We suspect this is a 100% fabricated bogus review.
There is way too much to talk about here so I’m just going to get to the point. This company is THE WORST. Please believe any bad review you read about this company because it’s true. Our inspector “Paul” did absolutely nothing when he came to “inspect” our home. He even missed a water damaged light fixture above our kitchen sink that started leaked the first week we lived in the house and he was writing up the inspection right below this light fixture. Of course I wouldn’t be leaving this review if it was just a leaking light fixture that he missed. He also missed $25,000 worth of repairs, including a basement that floods every time it rains. I am clueless as to what I’m supposed to be looking for because this is the first home I have ever bought so I was trusting this company to do a good job but unfortunately some companies are in bed with the realtors trying to sell these homes and this company is definitely one of them. My fiancé called the owner “Leslie” to explain what happened with the inspector and he was so rude that she was in tears during and after the call. He said to her “I can’t understand you when you are balling on the other line”. Luckily we did end up getting the money we paid for the inspection back but that is nothing compared to the 25 grand we now have to some how come up with. Mediation is going to be fun, thanks Accurate Home Inspections!!!
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! Multiple problems COMPLETELY MISSED! Major plumbing leak in the master bathroom not found until we flooded the basement when we went to use it. Leak in basement with rotting carpet tack strip underneath carpet. Sump pump did not work and crock was found to be full of debris ( wood pieces previous owner swept into it); basement tub did not drain; furnace did not provide heat; prev owner opened windows during radon test and inspector made it seem like it would be hassle to repeat and told my husband "it's probably fine" which I was not comforted by so we repeated the radon test which was found to be high leading to a need for Radon Mitigation. We brought all of this to the attention of the company and they sent us a refund of the inspectors fee but then kept the company portion of the fee. WHAT?! First off, how is that right? They did not actually provide the service paid for. Not that a return of the entire $500 would have even come close to covering all of the repairs needed that we're not discovered due to their inspectors negligence, but at least it would have been a gesture that they were trying to make things right. Even after writing a letter to the company explaining our dissatisfaction with their so-called solution, no one from the company contacted us to discuss what disgraceful service we had received or to assure us that no one else would suffer the same treatment. A house is the most expensive purchase most people are going to make in their lifetime. You need to be able to trust the people doing the inspection on a purchase like this. We are now out a ton of money to repair a house that we would not have bought in the first place had we found out about all of these issues at the time of the inspection. Now, we are stuck having to mediate this and potentially going to court and are going through a lot more stress to try to remedy that which never should have happened in the first place. If you want to be in capable, honest, caring hands then DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!! They will gladly take your money with no regard to any kind of quality service being received in return! I go to work everyday and I'm held accountable for every single action I take there. I only wish it were the same for home inspectors and companies like this. I know that if I had acted with blatant disregard for a client the way that they did that I would be out of a job.
