Hawkes Tree Service

I reached out to Hawkes Tree Service because we have an ash tree and I wanted emerald ash borer preventive treatment. James visited my house soon after the request; I then got an estimate; and he did the treatment the same day. So far I'm very satisfied.

Hawkes "inoculated" 32 trees infected with emerald ash borer and removed an additional 20 trees that were dead or dying because of that same disease. They did a great job. The inoculation involved boring holes at the base of the trees and injecting a chemical. The process took almost two days. The technician really knew what he was doing. And the tree removal only took half a day. About half of the trees were in the back yard and the team used a long crane to lift them over the house so they would not have to drag or carry them around. It was very dramatic, but they really knew what they were doing. The team was quick efficient and friendly. They chipped most of the trees on site and carried the chips away. They removed the larger trunks that were too big to chip. They cleaned up thoroughly and except for some unavoidable marks left by the heavy crane they left the place in good shape. I was very satisfied.

Your crew did a fine job at my property at Popham, cutting down a couple of big, dead trees and pruning trees growing into the power and cable lines. They were personable, addressed my concerns and even trimmed a big, dead branch overhanging the road as "bonus" not on the work list and was a danger.

Hired them to cut over 50 trees. They did an exceptional job, reasonable prices, fast service and the guys were wonderful and cleaned up everything when done. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

Exemplary organization and highly skilled and coordinated work from start to finish, from an emergency roping of what looked like a menacing leaning tree in the dark of a cold Christmas Eve to the removal over power lines of an immense 100 year old ( I counted the circles) pine, to the expeditious hauling off of the tons of pine trunks, to the limbing, cabling and ultimate salvaging of two beloved maples. Super nice staff and crews as well. It's reassuring and a source of pride in Maine to know that they are just around the corner on a neighboring peninsula!

This is our second experience with the HAWKES Team. The crew is fast, efficient, professional and concerned about satisfying their clients. They do an excellent job including clean up!

We had a large limb come down after we received a night of heavy, wet snow. Hawkes was the first company we called. They were able to get someone out to give an estimate and were even able to squeeze us within the same week to have a crew remove the entire tree. Ben gave us two estimates for either removing the limb and/or removing the entire tree that had been compromised. Carol and Kayla and the office staff were communicative and highly responsive. The crew did a great job with removing debris and wood safely (even navigating around a utility line on the other side of the tree being cut down.) 10/10. Professional, friendly, and responsible.

Crew was excellent, friendly, accommodating, and professional. Arrived on time, worked very efficiently and well together and cleaned up afterward. One minor downside -:I requested 1 additional tree be removed and the cost was much higher than I expected especially since the crew and equipment were already on site. Otherwise, definable 5 stars. I will use them again

We’ve used Hawkes for several trees now and continue to be happy with the work that we’ve had done. Pricing has been good, and most especially after this last one I was really impressed with how tidy they left the area after removal. It was a big tree in a small space surrounded by gardens and other landscaping and it was clear that care was taken. Absolutely would recommend.

Ben and crew clearly knew what they were doing. We had a giant Cottonwood leaning toward the house with large branches hovering over our workshop. The coordination between the 3 guys was poetry in motion and fun to watch. I highly recommend them and particularly do so for anything difficult such as what we had. They made it look easy

Excellent stump grinding service done on my property and neighbors' adjoining property. Festus ground 8 stumps total in tight quarters working around trees and other obstacles. He was a pleasure to work with. We and neighbors are very satisfied with the results! Many thanks!

Hawkes Tree Service did a very professional job clearing our house and septic sites, and Mike who performed most of the actual clearing was a super guy- Honest, hard working, and very knowledgeable about the trade. He offered many good suggestions throughout the process. I'd hire them again without hesitation.

We are so impressed with Hawkes! They are efficient ,friendly showed up exactly when they said they would, We called them at 2 am and they were here at 8 am. They removed a 60 foot pine that had fallen on our house in about 2 hours.DONT CALL ANYONE ELSE!!

Hawkes took down an extremely tall (over 120ft?) multi- trunked white pine at my house in a VERY awkward location with tough access and very near two structures. The crew is a very well oiled and professional machine. They barely left any trace - cleaned up much of the sawdust as well. Incredible job. All of their people from the office, estimating and operations are pleasant and professional. Would trust them with any tree needs.

100% pleased with Hawkes Tree Service. The team leader, Ben, arrived promptly at 8 am to survey the site and answer all of my questions. Ben, the 3 man crew man crew, and their equipment then negotiated our tight driveway and set to work. It was an awesome sight to see huge sections of trees lifted over our garage by the 90 foot crane and perfectly dropped to chip the small stuff and to cut the good stuff into 16" lengths for me to split. Their professionalism, courtesy, and precision was immediately on display and quickly alleviated my concerns for the safety of the crew and our property. Totally satisfied and at a fair price to boot. Thanks.

WOW…what a positive experience. The Hawke’s team, led by Taylor, showed up on time, listened to what we were trying to accomplish, and got to work executing their plan. They had to think outside the box to get their equipment down a steep embankment, and did a great job clearing out trees and brush to improve our view and make our property more accessible. They were conscientious, honest, and cleaned up the site after they were done. Liz and Talia did a great job communicating updates and taking care of any questions we had during the process. I would definitely use Hawke’s Tree Service again, and recommend them to anyone who needs assistance clearing a lot, or cutting/pruning trees.
