We appreciated the special attention to detail he provided, as well as his thorough reports. He was prompt, professional, and personable. As a first time home buyer I had reasonable hopes that the home inspection process would be thorough and effective. The report generated by Advantage services looks detailed but when look deeper it had numerous significant incorrect statements and missing items. First the inspectors labeled an active natural gas line a water service line at the house. Second the labeled sewer drain to the city a water main meter. Third the stated the dishwasher worked when in fact it had a hole into the discharge hose that flooded the kitchen upon moving in. Fourth the inspectors stated the kitchen sink drain worked when a simple look under sink showed that when you turned the faucet on it would back up into the disposal and hold water due to bad plumbing. Fifth while they marked a small checkbox that the house had knob and tube, they did not speak to it verbally or even mention it in the comprehensive report. Specifically it should have detailed that all the knob and tube wiring was under inches of blow in Fiberglass insulation posing a safety hazard. I have many more findings that were missed or stated incorrectly but it’s not worth my time to type more. For 1000$ I expect that the assessment is correct and complete. I will not be using Advantage Services for my inspection needs again.

The service was ok. The issue is they sold my information. My phone was bombarded with random calls. One local alarm company said congratulations on your new home. Advantage Services thought I might be interested in an alarm system. Sharing personal information is ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE!! I do not recomend this company.

***UPDATE ON THIS*** The gentleman that ran our test and verified it was clean just so happens to teach a class on mold at a college and said in the state of Louisiana you do not have to be licensed to test for mold any Joe blow off the street can do it (hence this guy) . So no accountability and no training necessary. Anyone that does an honest mold test does not do it in the attic and that's where it was tested. That's why over 80% of the mold showed it was outdoor mold that does not grow inside of a house no black mold was found. Does the owner want to keep going because I did my homework????? ***SCAM ARTIST*** This guy runs a scam to try to get more work and more money our of people. He claimed we had mold in our house but wouldn't tell us where or what he tested even though I was watching him the whole time. Turns out we had a another mold specialist come in to verify (btw or test came back TOTALLY clean. How does that happen????)and he said he's run into multiple cases he has scammed all so he can come test for mold again (even though he can't read a mold test) after you spend thousands of dollars just so he can make a quick extra $500 or so. And just so happens he has a pest company he also like to promote through his inspection (which from what I understand is ileagal). And if Advantage has a problem with this honest review they can call my lawyer that I have already counseled with concerning this matter.

This company is fantastic! They found items that even impressed our agent! Peter did an extraordinary job inspection our new house. Made the experience a pleasure.

don't use these people. I had a house inspected last year and I have been doing nothing but discovering problems. The A/C unit was "cooling properly" to them, but when it died shortly after we moved in and then began condensating all over the house. Huge disparities between the setting and the air were then noticed, along with a fire hazard not noted in the inspection. Additionally, while they noted where the gas meter was, they neglected to check a labeled valve (right by the A/C and heater) and realize that there is a sizeable gas leak when the gas is turned on. (that's right, it was shut off to most of the house). I've only lived here a year. I can't wait to find out what other fun surprises are in store for me that they didn't catch.
