Reading the reviews I can see the pattern of blaming others for their messed up!

Provider response

We’re sorry to hear about your concerns and appreciate the opportunity to clarify. At Brock Lawn & Pest Control, we follow the University of Florida’s Best Management Practices (BMPs) and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) standards for every lawn treatment. These practices focus on properly diagnosing issues before applying any product to ensure treatments are effective, environmentally responsible, and beneficial for the turf’s long-term health.

In the two services we performed on your lawn, we did not “kill the grass.” Our treatments focused on eliminating the existing weed issues and addressing the heavy fungus pressures that were already present. None of the actual turfgrass died from our applications — rather, the decline was due to severe mowing stress (scalping) and ongoing fungus issues. These types of problems cannot be corrected in just two applications and require consistent treatment and proper mowing practices over time.

You mentioned that you “met with a manager and never heard back,” but we actually met with you on four separate occasions to review your lawn and communicate expectations. During our last visit with you, the conversation unfortunately became hostile and involved profanity and personal remarks toward our team. At that point, we felt it was best for both parties to part ways.

We take pride in providing honest, science-based lawn care using UF’s BMP and IPM principles. Our goal is always to educate our customers, promote healthy lawns, and provide professional service with respect and integrity.

I use to have Brock Pest Control, and wondered why my yard wasn't getting better! Well today while sitting in my car, while my neighbor was being serviced by Brock. The technician was walking the lawn as if spraying BUT was not, he only sprayed a few areas and that was it! But he walked the whole yard with the hose extended as if he was spraying but nothing was coming out! He did spray a few times a squirt here and there! My advice BE PRESENT WHEN THEY SPRAY, or find someone else you are throwing away money… A Concern Citizen!!!

Provider response

Concerned citizen, thank you for taking the time to share your observations and concerns. We understand how it might have appeared that our technician wasn’t actively spraying the entire lawn; however, what you witnessed was actually part of our Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach — a science-based practice focused on applying treatments only where they’re needed.

At Brock Lawn & Pest Control, we follow the University of Florida’s Best Management Practices (BMPs) for lawn care, which recommend targeted or “spot” applications instead of broadcasting herbicides across the entire yard. This method helps protect the environment, prevents unnecessary chemical use, and supports the overall health of the turf.

Our technicians are trained to identify specific problem areas and treat only those spots requiring attention. If large portions of a lawn are healthy and weed-free, broad application isn’t necessary — and could even be counterproductive.

It’s also important to note that during this time of year, cooler temperatures cause lawns to enter a dormant or semi-dormant state. When the grass isn’t actively growing, nitrogen-based fertilizers are not needed and can actually cause stress or damage to the turf. Instead, our focus shifts to maintaining soil health, managing weeds, and preparing the lawn for optimal recovery in spring.

We truly value your feedback and the opportunity to explain our process. If you’d like, call our office and we’d be happy to review your former service history or schedule a complimentary evaluation to discuss your lawn’s progress in more detail.

— Brock Lawn & Pest Control Management Team

I SINGNED UP FOR QUARTLY PEST CONTROL WELL THE TECHNICIIAN ARRIVED AT 17:45 AND ALL THAT WAS DONE WAS WINDOW SEALS ,AND JUST THE FRONT PART OF MY HOUSE .i CALLED LEFT MESSAGES TO CANCEL THE SERVICE .NOT ONCE DID I GET A COMMON CURSETY PHONE CALL THEY SENT MY ACCOUNT TO COLLECTIONS. MAN, IF THAT DON’T BEAT ALL BLAME IT ON THE CUSTOMER, I DON’T GET IT CANCLE SERVICE AND I GET MY BILL SENT TO COLLECTIONS.

Provider response

Bruce, after reviewing your account our records show that your initial quarterly service in June was completed in full — including treatment around the perimeter, window seals, and an additional outbuilding at your request. The technician documented and obtained your signature at the time of service. Our office made a courtesy call and left a voicemail prior to your account being placed on hold for nonpayment — there was no record of a cancellation request from you. Unfortunately, unpaid balances are automatically sent to collections after multiple attempts to reach the customer. If you’d like to discuss this further or review the service records, please contact our office directly.

After they service my lawn for weeds, all my grass died. They tried to blame me for it saying I cut the grass to short. Photos before and after brock. Do not recommend.

Switched to Brock’s several months back and Jason is demonstrating we made the correct decision. Our yard has improved drastically, thick green, weed free, and no evidence of those blank blank mole crickets. Summer is winding down and we’re already looking forward to next year’s beautiful yard with Jason and Brock.

Provider response

Thank you for your fantastic review, David! We're thrilled to hear that Jason has made such a positive impact on your yard. Your satisfaction means the world to us, and we look forward to helping you maintain that beautiful space for seasons to come!

I have high hopes that Jason with Brock pest control will take control of my yard and get it in good shape! Looking forward to great results! Well, it’s 6 years later and I’m sad to say that Brock pest control has not done, delivered or satisfied any of my expectations. I have continually had to treat and pull my own weeds, even after telling my “technicians” over and over that I needed them to treat my yard for weeds. This is such a long story but here’s what I’ve learned… Brock treats every yard the same. They don’t diagnose your yard and needs for your yard, they have a schedule and by goodness they don’t vere from it. Here’s what is sick! Hundreds of dollars later we are now treating our own yard and in less than 2 months it’s green and lo and behold the weeds are dying. You decide. I’m done with these companies that promise and don’t deliver.

After sticking with Brock Lawn for one year weeds tripled, dead spots tripled. Front yard was self maintaining (no service of chemicals) had way more dead spots & weeds . Newly sodded back yard had mole crickets that took out nearly half the lawn. When I called and complained they did come out can treat with ineffective treatments, also saying that they did not see any mole crickets. They are underground, duh, you can pour soapy water on the ground and they would come out in droves. I begged for TripleCrown and the technician said it wasn’t approved for mole crickets which was a lie or he uninformed; both unacceptable. When it was finally treated lawn grass nearly half gone, front looks way worse than when they started. Save your money.

Provider response

At Brock Lawn & Pest Control, we document our work carefully and have images showing this lawn's condition at the start of service and again one year later, both demonstrating clear improvements. While we never share client photos publicly to protect their privacy, we stand by the results we achieved. In this case, our technicians made repeated recommendations to reduce watering, particularly during winter, as overwatering can lead to fungal issues - which is what occurred here, not mole cricket damage. We made every effort to control the problem once it developed. As for product concerns, TripleCrown is approved for mole crickets, but based on our extensive field experience, we’ve moved to more effective solutions that deliver better long-term results. Our team’s recommendations are always grounded in real-world performance. Ultimately, the success of any lawn care program depends on a strong partnership between our technicians and the homeowner. When best practices are followed, we consistently help lawns thrive. We’re always happy to answer questions about our approach and products.

Response to Brock: Not surprised at the blatant lie from Brock. I specifically said I am watering 7 days a week now because I have planted grass seed to salvage the yard. Water was turned off throughout the winter months and only on 3 days a week in peak season. I know I had a yard with grass and a weed problem before I started Brock lawn care and now at this point I have NO grass. Do NOT recommend Brock Lawn Care! This is my yard after a year of treatment from Brock lawn and pest. Pictures will tell the whole story. Their words "what do you want me to do about it". Dont trust Brock to guide you through to a lush lawn. They are the experts and this is the yard they guided me to after a year... no matter what the issue is... this is the results after a year of Brock treatment.

Provider response

To those reading this review, we want to provide some context. Our team made multiple recommendations to reduce overwatering, starting in September and continuing through the winter. These recommendations were not followed. As of our most recent conversation, the lawn is still being watered seven days a week. Lawn health depends on a combination of proper treatment and homeowner care. When our advice isn’t followed, it limits the results we can deliver, no matter how effective our products and services are. The quote referenced was, “What would you like for us to do for you?”—a genuine effort to find a solution, not a dismissal. We’re always happy to work alongside homeowners who follow our professional advice, and we remain committed to helping our clients achieve healthy, beautiful lawns. - Brock Lawn & Pest Control

We bought our house six months ago. Apparently the prior owner had service with Brock. A number of people from Brock stopped by the house. Each time we told them we have our own pest control company. Today one of their employees came by unannounced and tried to dig up the termite stations our pest company had installed. I had to chase him off the property. I am just floored at the behavior. The next time they come by the house I am calling the sheriff's department.

I have had Brock Lawn Service for many years. I got their service just after I had new Zosia sod put down. They had done a great job until the past few months. The previous technician we had was fantastic, always ask if I saw any problem spots. I called a few weeks ago that I had weeds coming up and was concerned. I have Ring cameras and I hadn’t seen a technician and also no Brock signs in my yard that they had been here. Of course, I received a bill and I paid. I ask to have a manager call me. Instead the tech called and was very rude. He said he had been here and did not appreciate me calling about the service. He serviced the lawn a couple days later and looks like he really over sprayed chemicals. My lawn is horrible. I have large brown spots many places on my lawn. One is about 10’ x 4’ and I am so disappointed that no one cares enough to call a long time customer. My neighbor has had the same problem and cancelled his service. I am doing the same.

It was a referral from a good friend. I had been with my other pest control for 10+ years. Finances made me reevaluate our bills and Brock was cheaper. It’s been since March 23, 2021 that I started service with Brock due to roaches. Amazing how just a little gap between companies created so many roaches. Never had a problem with roaches ever. It’s uncontrollable now. They’ve sprayed and supposedly baited 3 times inside since March for $250 and nothings changed. In addition to the Roche problem they talked about a plan they have that guaranteed no ANTS in my yard for an additional $250. If you’re from Florida you know how bad that can be in your yard in the summertime specially if you have kids and I do. I’ve taken videos of the piles I’ve stepped in I am taking videos of them while they’re biting my feet. I have paid Brock Pest Control over $500 at this point to correct the roach problem and take a gamble on their guarantee of no ants and they still exist inside and out. The second time that they came back for the ants in the backyard the employee that they sent was very sarcastic and most certainly rude especially when he asked me if I could read. That kid didn’t know who he was messing with at that point and it’s taken me until now to process how to handle this because I have lost out on $500 that I really didn’t have but desperately needed to get rid of this problem. My opinion at this point is do not guarantee something that you cannot change that that is mother nature. Not really sure how I’m going to handle this to get a refund so I can just go back to my other pest control guy who I should’ve never broken up with LOL I’ll have to say you get what you pay for it works for some but it definitely did not work from my home. After all this time and definite lack of communication from Brock I learned today July 1, 2021 they will not refund my money of over $500 for their services that clearly have NOT worked. I still have bugs in my house and ants in the front and backyard. I am beside myself with this awful and expensive service that didn’t work. It seems they’ve passed the buck to several people within the company and no one communicated any thing to me. I had to find out myself. Not good. I’m embarrassed that this issue hasn’t been resolved since MARCH. I will do my best at this point to contact the owner Tim Brock himself. I can’t see an owner neglecting a new customer such as I. I hope not anyway. I will never refer Brock Pest Control to anyone after this experience.

Provider response
