Update, the ants are back and even worse than before only 2 months after being sprayed. We are now having to call a different pest control company We had Ban a Bug come and spray for fire ants outside our house in Port Charlotte. We had fire ants all over our yard, driveway, and front walkway. Me and my wife have never used a pest control company before and didn't quite know what to expect. The office staff who answers the phone is very friendly and spent several minutes with me explaining the process. We paid $112 for an exterior treatment of our property (0.23 acres), and it came with a 30-day guarantee. We didn't really observe the process when the technician came, I was at work and my wife was tending to our 1-year-old son inside the house. About 2 weeks later the fire ants returned, just as bad as before. We called and Ban a Bug honored the 30-day guarantee and came back out and sprayed again. This time my wife observed the process and noticed that the technician did not spray the flower beds. She asked him about it, and was told that it would cost $85 extra to spray our flower beds. Number one we were never informed of this, despite me spending several minutes on the phone with the office, and because nobody saw the technician do the application the first time we were unaware that the flower beds hadn't been done. We're thinking this is probably why the fire ants came back. Number two, I was under the impression we were getting a complete exterior treatment of our small property, including flower beds. I was not informed that it was a lawn service only, I thought it was an outdoor service for the entire property including flower beds. We're a young couple and relatively new homeowners, and didn't have another $85 to spend on the flower beds. Another few weeks have gone by and thankfully the fire ants have not come back, but I won't be surprised if they eventually do because the flower beds are pretty close to where we were seeing the ants in the first place. The whole experience left a bad taste in my mouth and we will be choosing a different company next time. I gave two stars instead of one, because they did honor the guarantee and come back out, even if we did get what I consider to be an incomplete job Update - the response from the company is incorrect. The flower beds were never discussed. If you could send me whatever call log you claim to have I would love to hear it

Ban a Bug has been helping our family for years with pest issues and general prevention. They’re the best! Eric has been taking care of my home since 2015 and I couldn’t ask for a better tech! He’s funny, polite and thorough. When I bought my home I knew I had some termite and cockroach issues. Ban a Bug hooked me up with an affordable plan and solved all my issues within a month. Highly not recommend it So they charge me 430$ for coming 9 time from the begging they told me that they will take care of my cock roaches they didn't highly not recommend it, I still got cockroaches and they refusing to come finish it they just want to charge more

We are sorry you are unhappy with our services. German roaches are extremely hard to get rid of. You were advised by our tech that we would need to treat the WHOLE home. You then denied access to bedrooms where you admitted to seeing the roaches. We have gone to your home 9x in good faith to try to fix the situation. This amounts to $47.77 a visit. That price included our chemicals, gas and salary to our techs. Perhaps if you followed our specific requirements, we may have had better results. German roaches have one of the fastest reproduction systems and even a dead female's ootheca can hatch giving birth to 30-40 newbies! Good luck with your new pest control service. This time, please follow their advice.

Increased their price $100 from last year with no explanation as to why. I called and they said it's due to an increase in the price of chemicals. I don't think that warrants that much of an increase, especially when they're spending a total of 15 minutes spraying. I also asked if I just wanted to pay for the one service they did and cancel the remaining 3 how much it would be and they told me I couldn't do that and started getting rude with me. Doesn't seem like a very good business model and certainly not good customer service.

Bryce,<br><br>According to our records, the service provided was for your yearly pest control renewal. With any type of service, we always inform the customer prior to setting up an appointment what the price will be. If this was not the type of program /service that you wanted, when our technician showed for the appointment , you could have informed our technician prior to start and completion of service. Our tech would have contacted the office and we would have accommodated the service and changed the contract based on your preference. However, this was not done that day. Our technician was there for 45 minutes to complete the initial service for your yearly renewal. Our technician also turned in a signed contract that you signed that disclosed what the services entailed along with the price for the yearly renewal. <br><br>This service was done on Wednesday 2/7/24 . You called us Friday 2/16/24 over a week later to let us know that this was not the program nor type of service that you requested yet you signed the contract with the price clearly stated on said contract. You called and told us that you only wanted to pay for a one time service. We tried to explain to you that the service that was completed entailed a yearly initial service and not a one time service which differs from the yearly renewal. In regards to the price increase, we did increase our prices due to high escalating costs of chemicals as well as running a business.

I've used this company for a few years, I noticed as a client I was less of a priority the longer I used them. I called for my new house to be sprayed for bugs, they scheduled an appointment and NEVER SHOWED UP! Called the office, NO HELP there, they told me they did show up, too bad I have a ring doorbell and it shows no one! NEVER using these people again

NEVER HIRE BAN A BUG IN ENGLEWOOD FLORIDA..PEOPLE I KNOW HAD A ROACH PROBLEM 2 YEARS AGO , HIRED THEM , $700.00 FOR 2 YEARS. THEYVE COME AT LEAST 50 TIMES TO SPRAY . STILL AS MANY BUGS AS EVER . THEY REFUSE TO GIVE A REFUND . WOMEN IN THE OFFICE IS EXTREMELY RUDE AND REFUSED REFUND . THREATENED TO CALL COPS ON ME WHEN I WENT TO THE OFFICE AND POLITELY ASKED FOR A REFUND . ...NEVER HIRE BAN A BUG ...SMALL CLAIMS COURT IS NEXT

Bad experience with these people. I would avoid at all costs. They will drag things out and send you bill after bill but you will still have bug issues. They have nice toys (cars and boats) because they will rip you off. Good luck.
