Best Care was subcontracted to fumigate our house by Inside Out Pest Control because we have a Spanish tile roof. Inside Out company warned us that they might do some damage when putting up the tent, so we were required to sign an excessive damage waiver before the work was done. Nevertheless, we were assured that they would take reasonable care. Best Care broke well over 200 tiles, and repair estimates now range from $9000-$11000. Other workers have been on the roof without breaking any tiles, and professional roofers have asked us what these guys were doing up there... dancing? Cannot recommend for anyone with a ceramic tile roof, and if using a different company, check to make sure that your job does not get subcontracted out to Best Care.

Provider response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the frustration and damage caused during the fumigation process. As you mentioned, Inside Out Pest Control did inform you about the potential risks associated with fumigating homes with Spanish tile roofs, which is why we provided the Excessive Tile Release Form. This form is presented only when we believe that tile damage could be significant, which was the case with your home.

The language in the waiver is intentionally alarming because we want to ensure there are no misunderstandings about the potential damage that might occur with delicate roofs like Spanish tiles. We believe in full transparency, and we want our customers to be fully aware of the risks before proceeding.

The tarps and equipment we use during fumigation weigh over 200 lbs each. Adding the weight of workers and equipment on the roof, tile damage becomes almost unavoidable, especially with fragile materials like ceramic or Spanish tiles. This is something we always try to warn homeowners about in advance to set clear expectations.

These fools were subcontracted by Cal Termite and definitely did not live up to their name. I came home to a destroyed patio - they dug stuff up, threw plants, used our things as step stools, left mud everywhere, put some of our items in other areas of the complex, and gassed and killed some of the expensive plants (orchids) even though we carefully removed everything from the home as we were supposed to and had everything more than a foot away from the building. We received reports from the neighbors that they left our garage full of equipment open and unattended while they were working. We were also told we could come back to the complex at 8 or 9 AM - I didn't show up until afternoon and the fumes were unbearable. One tenant came back and couldn't take it so they went back to the hotel. After a lot of back and forth with Best Care and Cal Termite I got a measly $50 check to cover damages, no apology, and no admittance of any kind of unprofessionalism. I am disgusted these boys were in my home unattended and I hope nothing is missing. AVOID. They are unprofessional liars and not to be trusted.

This company got subcontracted to tent the house for termites and when we went back to occupy the house noticed a garage fan missing I'm I'm very upset/angry when In these kind of services you put your trust in these people to find out an appliance missing. compromised the reputation for a 70 dollar fan hope they step up and make this right

“Best Care” Fumigation were sub-contracted to fumigate our new home. We moved in on the day that fumigation and the tenting were removed to find a crack in our window. Best Care inspected the crack only to dismiss any fault whatsoever and claimed this to Ben a “bb pellet” despite the window in a enclosed area without sight of any neighbors and being the only people on site. The dual-panel window was in perfect condition prior to the fumigation and was subject to a home inspection. We would NOT recommend Best Care Fumigation who simply dismissed our disappointment and now what will clearly be an expensive out of pocket cost.

Fumigation killed all of the ivy crawling on the front door. When asked what to do - they said "you can water it, it may grow back or it may not?" They should have made it more clear that this would kill our ivy covered wall by our front door. Very disappointed.

Service of fumigation was fine. Where my review comes in is communication. This company was subcontracted by Able Exterminators to fumigate our house. Despite sending back all forms on time, I still had several last-minute emails and calls from the staff at Best with questions that were answered on their forms. Also, beware the prep "companies" recommended by Best who are family members/workers from the company. We hired Tomas Delgado to do the prep work for the fumigation. We were given a quote for "everything" that would be needed for the prep, and he assured me he was very familiar with the prep because he was a fumigator, only to have him raise his price by $100 on site the day of when he found out the garage was detached. Overall, standard and adequate fum service, but poor communication and unreliable recommended prep service would make me look elsewhere next time.

Outside our house at 5:50 AM to remove tenting from neighbor’s house! So loud and disrespectful of the neighborhood. We will have to find someone else to treat our home next time - don’t want to be inconsiderate of our neighbors.
