The foster Mom, deserves 0 stars. After being fully vetted by my Vet and 3 references, and spending 2 hours on the phone with her last Thursday, which resulted in an approval for adoption for a Maltese named ZuZu, I received an email from her rescinding her adoption approval this afternoon 3/2/25. Mind you, this was after I made arrangements to travel round trip 8 hours to pick her, bought all kinds of outfits for her (because her hair was so matted from being at a puppy mill, that she needed to be shaved and I wanted her to be warm,) spent money on treats, food, toys, etc and asked the FM specifically what treats and food she eats. I told her that I own a passive almost 14 year old Corgi who is about a foot tall and is a mellow fellow. I even explained to her that he becomes submissive when charged by other larger dogs. I explained that it is very hard for him to get in and out of the car and I use steps for him. I preferred not having to bring him, but said I would if I have to, because I was going with a friend who can help me get him in and out of the car. After speaking with her for two hours she asked me what all my previous names were. I have been married twice and she wanted my maiden name as well, which was over the top. I have only had to do that as a federal Military counselor. After the call, I emailed her about how I felt that was odd. In her response, she said she was interested in culture, but she also said that she is an anxious and paranoid person. I felt like she was trying to look into my social background but there would have been nothing to find, as I don't have any social media under any of those names. I think she got insulted by 2 things; my calling her attention to the fact that I thought those questions were above and beyond the vetting process, and also because I couldn't come pick up the dog until this coming Saturday. Her brother was coming last weekend and he and his dogs didn't get along with hers. I had forgotten about 2 DR appointments tomorrow and on Tuesday, called them, and was not able to bring her, and was told by FM that I couldn't leave her in a crate because of her puppy mill experience. I changed the date to pick her up until March 7th. I work from home PT so would always be with her. I think she took me asking about my previous names and having to change the PU date personally. She has broken my heart and this news was devastating to me and my friends who support me and vouched for what a good fur mom I am. I wrote to her and said I could bring my Corgi up, and she simply stated, "I'm not changing my mind" after she decided that my 1 foot Corgi was too big for a Maltese to be living with. I have to say, "Absolute Power corrupts absolutely" with this one. She behaved unethically, unprofessionally, and is truly not interested in giving her rescues a good home, and is not a good person at all! Update---manager Jordan never bothered to contact me but found out that Zuzu was already adopted and her page removed, so proves my point that 1- she gave Zuzu to a interested party who was available to pick her up before her brother came with his dogs.. And 2- that explains the "I am not changing my mind" comment. SHW is truly a horrible FM that could care a less about who she gives up a foster too. Yes, I remain brokenhearted as the cute little outfits for her keep coming in. And shame on Jordan and other mgmt for not reaching out!

We have adopted 5 dogs from NCCR over the years. They are friendly, easy to work with, and always match the pups with prospective owners perfectly! GREAT PLACE!!

We adopted from this rescue 10+ years ago. Our beautiful dog Cricket still brings us joy everyday and as we look to expand our fur family we are coming back to Northern Chautauqua!

Spoke to a Jordan Nichols for quite awhile as I was searching for the write dog. So I applied he told me i would get a call, that never happened I ended having to ask him what was going on and he says oh well we had to deny you due to a reference issue. I checked with all my references INCLUDING THE VET nothing but good things were said! They are not fair at all when it comes to adoption applications and they also slander me for no reason! So if you're a lower income person dont even bother with this place and I wouldnt even of given these jerks one star but it made me so 0 stars! And if i AM doing something wrong Id love to know what it is so that I can correct the issue but they REFUSED TO EVEN GIVE ME A REASON!!!!!!

Just adopted my wonderful dog Buddy formerly Castile in November . He is a lab mix well behaved and very dear . After my routines Vet check up he tested positive for Heartworm disease . We are hopeful but devastated about his diagnosis. Advise to others educate yourself on rescues , dogs from the south , common for these rescues to have positive Heartworm disease .

Drove 40 minutes to get more information about a puppy because their phone line is automated and left within less than 30 seconds because the lady turned us down.

I entered here with my mother with intent to adopt a dog and was immediately shut down. I had saw a beautiful animal on their site so I decided to visit with my mother to get said animal. Instead of saying the dog was adopted, they decided to accuse me to be too young and irresponsible without even knowing who I am. Then, continued by saying that the breed I wanted didn't mix well with cats and, as a matter of fact, I have multiple family members and friends who have the breed of dog and a cat that coenside fine. Then finally decide to tell us the dog has been adopted. Very rude and I will continue to recommend other shelters to family and friends.
