Bed bugs are… really upsetting, to say the least. We found that Eric understands both the technical side and the human side of things. He knows what he’s doing — his depth of knowledge about bed bugs is obvious. But he’s also kind, patient, personable, and has a great sense of humor. This combination made a huge difference for everyone involved here. Our Situation: We were visiting family in Elmira for the holidays when we found a bed bug… on Christmas Eve (Merry Christmas to us 😅). Not to be dramatic, but I’m pretty sure I saw my life flash before my eyes. I did a Google search, called CNY, spoke with Eric, texted him photos, and he confirmed it was a bed bug. He texted back and forth with me throughout the day and was incredibly responsive and patient (…Seriously, I was texting this man photos of the crumbs underneath my in-laws couch cushions.) He said the good news was that the bug we found was a female bed bug that hadn’t fed and didn’t have eggs. He also gave us very specific guidance on how to do a self-inspection (where to look and what to look for). We followed his directions and even though, based on all of the info we had communicated, he felt like there likely wasn’t an infestation, the general vibe in the house was still freaked out and worried. So I asked him if he could still come out in-person to take a look — he was upfront and honest (never tried to push unnecessary services), but still came out on Christmas Eve. When he arrived, Eric talked us through the world of possible scenarios. He did a thorough inspection and explained everything as he went, which helped give everyone peace of mind. It turns out we most likely had a single, rogue “hitchhiker,” which is more common than I realized (I always thought seeing one meant there were hundreds or thousands). CNY’s responsiveness, honesty, calm demeanor and willingness to educate you are exactly what you’d want in a situation like this. I’d definitely recommend him over big companies (Orkin, etc.) or other local pest-control businesses that are “jack of all trades, master of none” because Eric specializes in bed bugs, he’s knowledgeable, and most importantly, he’s kind. So far, it seems like we truly just had a lone “hitchhiker” that may have come inside on one of us after running errands or maybe on our dog — but it’s a huge relief knowing our family in Elmira now has a trusted go-to bed bug expert to call, if needed. So if you know you have bed bugs, or have an infestation that wasn’t resolved by someone else, or even if you just saw/felt something and are nervous, give CNY/Eric a call! I think he’s someone you can genuinely trust and he will get you sorted out.

Really grateful for Eric at CNY Bed Bug Extermination! I came home with bites after a vacation and didn’t know what to do. He called me back within an hour of me leaving a message. I felt so panicked but he spent a long time on the phone with me, answering all my questions and clarified misconceptions about bed bugs. Eric is one of the best guys, we had a bed bug problem and our landlord took 3 months to fix it (not his control) he even went out of his way to spray our stuff so we didn’t move it to our new place! Almost a month in and no sign of them! Very professional and very helpful will recommend him to anyone who has a problem he also makes you feel like you are not alone and lets you know that most people have delt with bed bugs!

Eric has come out to one of my rental properties a couple times already. Although the bed bugs have yet to dissappear (it is a rental and out of both mine and Eric's control in regard to how tenants behave) I feel confident that he will do everything he can to get rid of them. He is very knowledgeable and is always on time and reasonable with his costs. He provides guidance in how to approach each step of the process, and advice. And he is very responsive!
