Mosquito Squad of Tampa Bay

I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel like people deserve a heads-up. The Mosquito Squad service/product did absolutely nothing for us. We saw zero improvement — honestly, you might as well save your money or just throw it straight in the trash. I ended up buying a simple hose-end spray from Home Depot for eight bucks, and it worked just as well (if not better). Customer service was also really disappointing. Getting help or answers felt like pulling teeth, and no one seemed to know what was going on. Overall, the experience was frustrating from start to finish, and I wouldn’t recommend the service to anyone.

I wanted to give a shout out to Victor Alvarado, Owner of the St. Petersburg , Florida area franchise. I had an infestation of mosquitos take over the entire first floor our office that was growing by the day. I first called our exterminator and they could only offer us a bucket of pesticide. This invasion was different and not wanting to harm our clients and our sinuses, I decided to seek out "The Mosquito Squad" (which came highly recommended). I called in the morning and Victor came out that day to not only check the problem out but then gave us a one time treatment of the whole office and outdoor entrances at a VERY reasonable cost. The next day we were mosquito free. He followed up and came out to put small incognito traps around the office for the mosquito stragglers, which where a only a few. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable and happened to be a really nice guy, with a "Northern work ethic". In Florida, that is rare. He got the job done and I would recommend Victor and his Mosquito Squad to anyone looking to not only take care of mosquitos, but bugs in general. Thanks, Victor. It was my pleasure to meet you!

Terrible product. These people purchased the mosquito company and changed the product. Doesn't work. Service guy seems helpless.

While the owner Joe is very nice, Mosquito Squad must be a small company because if you have issues with your misting system, it could take up to two weeks for someone to come out and fix it. If it rains anywhere close to your property they will not come out (even if it's not raining at your house). If there is a holiday such as Labor Day, this will back up their service department even more. This means that for an extended part of time, you will have mosquitos that are going untreated, and they will not pro-rate your bill. We had to switch to a larger company that could provide the service we were promised since we were getting bitten up by mosquitos for a good portion of the month.

I contacted this company to spray my yard 1 time because my parents were coming, to visit. I was happy with the service but 75$ to not have mosquitos for 10 minutes is steep. So maybe 2 weeks after the first and what should have been the last….they show up again and perform a service I did not ask for and than charged my card 73$. Disgusting people. Thieves. Trash.

The mosquitos have been horrible in our backyard. We subscribed to a 3 month trial and have been extremely happy with the results. We plan to pay monthly through the end of mosquito season. We are glad we found this provider. UPDATE - 3 years later and we are still using this provider.

With two young kids, both who have reactions to mosquitos, this was a lifesaver! Professional, and great service!

We paused services over the dry winter months, as we never have an issue with mosquitoes during that time. When we called to inform the company that we would like to pause our service, the “customer service rep.” Told my wife “if you pause services, you should find another company to come spray when you start up again because we won’t do it” So basically he told us our money isn’t good enough for them because we wished to pause services for 3 months. Fair enough, we went ahead and hired a new company to spray and they will now get our money every month. This group must be awful busy to be able to just treat customers this way and turn away money!! TO OWNER RESPONSE OF REVIEW: Yes you did service our property multiple times, the account was in my wife’s name. There is no need for us to contact you, We will not be using your company again, just want others to know how we were treated!!

Was yelled at by the owner for quoting their own policy of “ 48 hours “that I was told over the phone. I had to call back as they didn’t return a phone call. They promise a Return to spray your property within 48 hours and take your money but then won’t call you back and won’t come for 7 days instead of two days that was promised … all lies !! Tried telling me I live in apollo beach multiple times even though I live in St. Petersburg! I Called to get re-sprayed and when I explained it had been more than their 48-hour window to return calls, I was met with attitude. Joe (the owner) was not helpful by any means. He agreed he got my message from 5:28 pm Saturday but never called me back. Will Not be using again. Stay away from this place. I’m sure they will lie on their reply post.

Customer service is terrible. Was told 48 hours to return a phone call and receive a re-spray. When called and asked about this I was met with attitude from the OWNER (Joe) of the company. Do NOT waste your time or money.

I would avoid Mosquito squad at all cost....ineffective, unprofessional, nonresponsive. We requested they treat for mosquitos and the first treatment was not effective so they came back out and told us they would adjust the formula. The next month when they came out the mosquitos were back within 7 days and significantly worsened by day 10. I called again to request they come back out as our renters complained as well. When I called for them to retreat they told me they were unable to come until our next payment date because they don't have any vehicles coming out to my area for a week. When I enrolled with mosquito squad they guaranteed their service or would come back and they have not honored that agreement. I highly recommend you go with a more responsive company who will guarantee their treatment and ensure it is effective. I called and requested to speak with a supervisor and was told they were not in the office. When I placed my husband on the phone Matthew then told my husband that the supervisor would be in later that day. I find it interesting he told a female a different story than a male. We were told we would hear from the supervisor who never returned my call. Finally, after multiple attempts of me calling I spoke with the supervisor who made no attempts to go above and beyond and basically stated he did not have any time until a week out despite the fact we were a paying customer. Very poor customer service! Again, I suggest you select a different company whose product actually works or at least they they will come back out to retreat.

I am not happy at all with the outcomes. There is no value in this service. I had zero difference in our mosquito population after 3 treatments. I feel the service is worthless. I told the technicians each time they came out that the mosquito population was not decreasing and they could not care less. They just wanted to get the worthless spraying done and leave as soon as possible. Probably because they were being bitten by all the mosquitoes.

UNPROFESSIONAL ON EVERY LEVEL! Inconsiderate of other people’s well-being when SPRAYING POISON! Very disrespectful! Absolutely no company should be in that big of a hurry that they feel the need to jeopordize someone else’s health and well-being! Unacceptable!
