Turf Squad Lawn & Pest Protection

Check and make sure you get the services that you pay for, and don’t expect a pleasant experience if you have to call them. I spent a couple of years with Turf Squad - I always prepaid for the year. Last year, they sold my an aeration (for an additional $100,) and never performed the service. When I called to let them know that I would not be renewing this year, Alyssa was argumentative and nasty on the phone. I never asked them for anything, but thought they deserved to know why I was leaving. This used to be a great company, unfortunately, it seems like they are struggling lately.

Unprofessional behavior. When concerns are raised, he becomes defensive and plays the victim. He doesn’t handle criticism well and tends to lash out. I’m not the only one who’s had this experience—others have expressed similar concerns. Proceed with caution.

I just read the review of another former customer, and I thought, "Oh my god!" They killed her yard too and tried to blame her. Told me the same stories. Not enough water. Your lawn died because of lack of water. Well, I just had another company come out and they said right away that it looked like chinch bug damage. AND that the lawn is NOT too dry, soil was wet and is good soil, not sandy in the damaged areas. Same experience with blaming me as the customer instead of taking accountability. BTW, the company I have now says if this damage would have happened with their company, they would replace the sod. Instead I am going to be out 1000+ dollars to replace the damage caused by a company that I was paying to keep damage from happening!! I was also treated very unprofessionally when I was attempting to disagree when i was being told that I wasn't watering enough. (I have my irrigation system checked annually and just paid big bucks to get new heads, and raise heads. The tech also set each time zone for the proper watering time based on a rotating head or a stationary head.) So, my damage was NOT caused by lack of water. And I agree with the other former customer, that if this company had said, hey, we messed up, we will replace the sod, I would have stayed with them. But the fact that the very company i am paying to take care of my yard is blaming me for its demise is not a company I want to give my business to. I am sad that things ended this way. Service was great for the first year.

This is a great small business with a very hard working owner who will do his absolute best to give you a beautiful yard. If you're unhappy with the way your yard currently looks, you should give them a try!

Have had these guys for years and my lawn always looks great. You get what you pay for and these guys deliver and are very professional! Highly recommend them.

I’m extremely disappointed with the service I received from Turf Squad. I called a day prior to my scheduled service to cancel, leaving a clear message requesting that they stop service. However, when I followed up, they claimed they never received my message, essentially implying that I was being dishonest. When I expressed my frustration, instead of trying to resolve the situation professionally, the representative became argumentative and dismissive. I was shocked when they told me they weren’t going to “play games” with me — a completely unprofessional and unnecessary comment. If a company can’t manage basic communication and treat their customers with respect, I can’t trust them to handle my business. I’ve since canceled my service and would strongly caution others to think twice before using Turf Squad.

If I could give them a 0 star I would. I have had Turf Squad for about a year. They promised the moon and slowly that promise faded. They sprayed my yard last month and now my yard is dying in large areas. But it’s my fault according to the lady I spoke to. I’ve called about a weed that I originally mentioned to them about when I hired them assured that they could take care of it. NOPE, now they say it’s something that they can’t get rid of. When I noticed the brown spots starting I notified them and they told me it was because my yard is dry and I wasn't watering enough. No, I water it two to three times per week and we had rain. AND my neighbors who only water twice per week don't have this issue. And if it was due to drought, wouldn't others lawns be doing the same. The lady that I spoke to was not nice at all she said if I felt I could do a better job then feel free to do so and then she cancelled my service…why because I called them out and complained I guess. WOW!

The whole neighborhood has these guys now. Started with my house then the neighbors now the whole block. Great results.

My wife questioned them on their service. He got upset right away and said he was canceling our service. Very unprofessional and rude. I'm glad you canceled our service, so I didn't have to. We were not seeing the results they promised. Weeds still very present in back and an area was dieing that had good grass.

I have been using Turf Squad for almost a year and had been very happy with them. Weeds were gone and lawn was looking great. Then about a month ago they sprayed my yard and now my yard is dying in large areas. I notified them and they told me it was because my yard is dry and I wasn't watering enough. No, I water it three times per week and we had rain for 3 weeks straight right before this last treatment, AND my neighbors who only water twice per week don't have this issue. And if it was due to drought, wouldn't all of it be dying? They tried to say the sun was drying it out, but my front yard only gets sun in the morning, so no, sorry that's not it either. Then they said my lawn company is cutting it to low and burning it, BUT they have never changed the setting on the mower (I asked them) and it looked great until this last treatment. They said they came back and put more fertilizer down yesterday, however, I have two Ring cameras in the front and no notifications, and no, they didn't ring the doorbell because that one didn't go off either. The owner's wife said the technician (who is the owner) called, but no missed calls, then the technician/owner said he didn't call. Which is it? Then they said to look at the yard and all of the fertilizer granules in it to prove they were there, there were none, I checked with him on the phone. In addition, they also spray my neighbor's yard and their yard is also dying in some areas since this last treatment. They will just not admit they did something wrong, and they're blaming me. People make mistakes, I'm sure that's what happened, I don't think they did it on purpose, but just own up to it. I am willing to see if the grass comes back, because I don't want to get new sod, heck I didn't even want to not use them anymore because they took care of the weeds! But then pointing the finger at everyone but themselves, the excuses, and the lies are ridiculous. And then they fired ME as a customer, because why? I complained I guess. I will gladly remove this bad review if the lawn comes back because I don't want to see any small business lose business. But if it doesn't come back, this is going to be thousands of dollars to re-sod, but that's why they are insured and bonded right? They have to be if they are a commercial business using chemicals, I also checked that.

They all try their best to provide a quality, reasonably priced, and timely service. Especially, all the Techs, support staff and leadership.

Great first visit. Unexpectedly canceled service in my entire area and let everyone know with a short email. I found it entirely unprofessional. Edited to add: all of this information about accidents and cars could have been shared in the original email, or in my email responding to that email (which nobody responded to) that reads to me that you didn’t care until I brought this to Google. By the way this type of review is the purpose of Google reviews, and your response soldifies my opinion of your company.

They used to be great. I had been with them since 2020. Out of nowhere they sent me an email canceling my service due to downsizing. Except I had already paid them for the year. I still have 3 treatments for approximately 295.00 dollars. Been 3 weeks since they canceled me. I had to hire another company and pay them, but I have yet to see my refund which they told me I would get. To me you should finish out your obligations Updated 05/21 I finally got my refund. The owner personally reached out to me and expressed how sorry he was. I was not the only one affected. I have to admit I was kind of hurt I was dropped and had to scramble to find another company. I was so comfortable with these guys just stressed me out. I think they could of handled that a bit better. Maybe give me a 30 day notice so I can find someone else. Etc etc. Other than that snafu they are great. I will rate 4 stars. They only lose 1 for the poor communication at the end.

I love Turf Squad! They have serviced my yard for the last 5 years and it looks so much nicer than before. They are very professional and reliable.

I have lived in the same house for 23 years. My grass has never looked better. I never have any issues since we started using turf squad 5 years ago. Taylor is the best and takes great care of our yard. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

Robert at Turf Squad follows the UF Lawn maintenance schedule and my lawn is beautiful! I HAD patches of doveweed that is hard to eradicate in St Augustine grass. He has never missed a spot when spraying or spreading chemicals or fertilizer and is very careful around bushes and plants. His work flow is very efficent and he is quite meticulous in treating my lawn. I could not be happier with Turf Squad! No need to search further!

I was using one of the larger local companies for several years. Made the switch almost a year ago. And man am I glad I did. The attention to detail and detailed instruction of what to do and when to do it has my neighbors envying my yard. Here it is mid December and lawn is green and plush. They also handle my shrubs and pest control and have been extremely satisfied. If I have any questions they are quick to respond and steer me in the right direction. I highly recommend them for all your yard needs.

I had a bad looking lawn after a cold winter. It was checker boarded. The sad part was I had just put this sod down the summer before. I was recommended to call Taylor at Turf Squad. Taylor came out looked at the lawn and said it will take some time but he could make it look good. Well I can tell you that he did make it look great and I get comments from my neighbors often!!

Turf Squad has been taking care of our lawn for over 2 years. Our yard use to be infested with weeds. We now have nice green grass! Taylor takes time to answer all questions and is very knowledgeable. Highly recommend!

These guys are awesome. I tried 3 different companies and got the same story from them all, they say they can control the weeds and promote grass growth. They don't, then they say we only spray every other month...what a joke! TURF SQUAD is the absolute best at what they do!! They had our weed problem (and it was really bad) under full control within 4 months!! And now it's been over a year... our neighbors complement us on our yard!! These guys know their business...and they are the absolute best!! They show up, take time to answer your questions...and they get the job done!!!

For over 15 years I was using another large company for our lawn pest control service. All was well until the last five years then the customer service and our lawn suffered. I am glad to report that after being fed up, my wife called Turf Squad and I am so glad that she did. Our lawn is amazing, the customer service is wonderful and I am overwhelmingly pleased with the condition of our lawn. I highly recommend Turf Squad for your lawn pest control. We just received yard of the month and others have commented that our lawn looks like carpet. Thank you Turf Squad!

Very professional and the best at keeping my lawn looking extra great!!!

Very, very pleased with their service! They take the time to know you & your lawn, listen to any concerns and then proactively work to fight a problem (i.e., the neighbors little one leaving their hose on for 3 days until they discovered the problem). A detailed worksheet is emailed after every service explaining what service was done, how much to water (or not) and how often. Highly recommend!
